pickabeau1: That's where you are wrong! It's the poor folks at home that have a warped mentality that you pick money from the streets of obodo oyinbo(when they are not pickabeau-pun intended) hence their incessant requests. I remember a gateman we had a long time ago whose son travelled to one of the EU countries, would you believe that just three days after the son departed, papa was already writing letter to him to send money- his siblings school fees are due, his mother's store needs restocking- shoo. Needless to say the son was deported barely a week later. During one of my visits home, I was with my friend one day when his mum called. What she said, "didn't she bring anything for us?" I was only a student oooooooo and still had my own family to attend to not to talk of external parties.. I was so pissed . 17 Likes 2 Shares |

D last time i travelled to Italy, one of my friend did sumtin dat surprised me, his fone waz ringing nd i asked him y he waz nt pickin up his call, bt d response i got waz; "itz from Nigeria" and i waz like; and so? Bt wat he said waz; itz money they wanna ask me for.... If we Nigerians can change our mentality, we can also make it no matter where we are or the situation of the country we are..... Jah bless we all 3 Likes 1 Share |

My elder bro is a US marine but we d direct family don't stress him at all. In fact my dad has told him not to bother sending a dime or even "wasting" money coming home. Since 2006 he hasn't visited Naija. When he sends he does it big time. But if he sends u a record of mails he receives for assistance u will pity him. Even me who is a private soldier I have seen hell in the hands of friends. My relatives don't even ask for a dime. But friends and classmates are the ones asking. The most recent is a gal who is from a very wealthy family(dads bro was a federal director and dad is an oil big boy) and uses an iPhone6+ but asked me for 3k. So I wonder if she is just greedy. 20 Likes |

I guess these problems are for those who have hungry and low esteemed relatives. for someone with self respect, and I am not crippled why should I always bother another person? 3 Likes |

look at all of dem, shame on all of you complaining,if you notice dey are mostly ibo n few yorubas. Its a culture, some of you were sent abroad by pains frm dose relatives you so despise now,if its so bad out dere y dont you go back to naija?! I have friends dt ar abroad, dia family sold dia lands n even borrowed money to sponsor dem abroad and you hv d effrontery to say dey r disturbin you. Try dt in some families u go see pepper!. That is why i like the edo pple, wateva dey can do,dey will do. Any money i make i will send for my people because you will not live foreva overseas. Even if you die dere na dem go bury u. I know your types complaining, all dis janitors and burger joints workers. Rubbish. 11 Likes |
