I also haven't seen a single picture of SA mercenary in Iraq and Afghanistan but I know for sure that thousands and thousands of SA left the army and went there. So in the case of Nigeria let us wait and see, perhaps someone might see them in Nigeria and publish their image.

Perhaps? Unfortunately there are none! Not one! Keep romancing your hollow cranial cavity for all you care!
You desperately want a taste of our impending success by hook or crook! cool cool cool SA will never ever come close to real COIN battles. Those your so called mercenaries are busy looting foreigners' shops across Soweto. Keep waiting to see Phantom mercenaries ... of course you'll never see any!

One thing for sure is: Nigerian-led MNJTF are in full swing ... doing our thing steadily.

Biafra war and Niger Delta war, and Dafur war first batch troops were 100% Nigerian, and fought against militia.

Show us SANDF ever fighting alone.....you can post Seleka defeat here, I have Gecko photos aplenty grin grin

Nigerian troops were not the only ones in Darfur, civil wars are irrelevant

Why cant you show us Nigerian troops fighting alone in foreign lands?

Not knowing the T-72 M1 in your picture is Slovakian not Czech grin grin grin grin

While the T-72M1 itself is Russian and not Czech

Just like the person who wrote the artical, you know nothing!

T-72 tanks transfer among use countries is very high and in thousands. You get Russian model from other Eastern bloc sellers etc.

T-72 tanks are shuffled among countries and many versions emerge. Nigeria has 3 sources of T-72 tanks and different versions.

You are not smart enough to know that.

Would there be any war on terror if we would not have imposed our believes of democracy onto other people. Countries which mostly have equal number of Muslims and Christians will strongly have to come to the realisation that one group cannot unjustly subject other group onto their believes, be it politically, economically or socially. We just have to sit down and face reality that the cause of Boko Haram is supported by many Muslims than we can ever think of. They keep on dying in action yet they never cease to exist. When will any country in the world ever act as an example and establish a caliphate of their own without having to let blood of the innocent to shed. Will we ever see any peace reign in the world? What is the solution?

You were just google searching random stuff and general info, this transaction is special .

You were not smart enough to know the T-72 M1 sale was Russian made tanks gathered together from several different armies of different countries of origin and sold to Nigeria by a Czech company ......you are a dumbo domingo that cannot analyse a complex transaction grin

"Soviet-made tanks T-72 M1 and 16 other vehicles, BMP armored infantry fighting vehicles and rocket launchers to an African country, its spokesman Andrej Čírtek told the paper. Čírtek said the heavy arms come from sales of redundant equipment of the armies of the former Warsaw Pact countries. Czech Defense and Security Industry Association head Jiří Hynek confirmed that the destination is Nigeria."

Uhh no, 50 tanks will quickly run out of fuel.

How will you transport food, fuel, ammunition, medical supplies, re-enforcements, spares, equipment with only 67 MT-LB?

And if your 60 MT-LB's are being used to ferry stores - what will be doing APC work on the other side?

0/10 - apply yourself.

Military Captures Armoured Vehicles, Artillery Guns Overnight

Dislodges Terrorists from Maiduguri… Operation is part of Comprehensive Mission Supported by Allied Neighbours
by SAHARAREPORTERS, NEW YORK Feb 01, 2015
1K 58 42

The Cobra APC recovered from BH fighters in Konduga last week PR Nigeria The terrorists who in their disarray strayed towards Bama, Ngom, Alou, Delwa and Mafa in the night have now been effectively contained. Mopping up operation is ongoing. Several weapons, arms and ammunition including two armoured vehicles and two artillery guns as well as 17 Hilux vehicles have been captured from them. Several terrorists also died.

The affected locations have been secured and soldiers wounded are being treated. Patrols and pursuit of fleeing terrorists is continuing in coordination with allied forces. Meanwhile, the terrorists attack on Maiduguri in the early hours of Sunday was quickly contained. The terrorists incurred massive casualty. The situation is calm as mopping up operation in the affected area is ongoing. The ongoing operations is in coordination with activities in the Multinational Joint Task. The terrorists are meant to be engaged in all fronts including their previous safe havens and hide outs in the region.

It is in line with the arrangement for a comprehensive and coordinated military operation with inputs by military forces in the Lake Chad Basin Commission namely Nigeria, Chad, Niger, and Cameroon.

That's untrue. Just ask any Nigerian who lives in SA, if he is fair enough will tell you that he experiences load shedding very seldom and if it happens it would only take 3hours. It does not happen everyday, at most is just only twice a week, not always at night and sometimes not at all. If we were living in cadles we wouldn't have our batteries charged to chat on Nairaland.

Meanwhile, Nigeria is on permanent load shedding.

Lol,the South African IPP(Independent Power Producers) are in charge of producing 5% of SA's electricity. This includes wind, solar and gas. This policy was introduced in the Intergrated Resources Plan(IRP 2010-2030) and has been effectively implemented already.Adios!

That minister should be ashamed for telling the people of Nigeria lies by suggesting that SA is now on the verge of privatizing ESKOM. He should have done research and would have noticed that SA took a decision long ago not to privatize ESKOM. Well, it is understandable that the crazy minister was canvassing for Jonathan by using lies. He fails to even produce more than 5000MW of power for his own people and now he falsely claim that a country which produces more than 40 000MW is modeling his boss' futile policies. He should run and throw himself in the ocean.

People it is not only Nigeria that has privatized its energy sector in the world. Many countries have nationalised and some have privatised their energy sector. So, why on earth would SA emulate Nigeria's failed energy sector policies of privatization when there are over thousands countries in the world which privatised their energy sector and still have electrified 100% of their citizens households. What would SA gain from emulating a country for which they are doing better than it?

That Ratel IFV is NOT crossing a river grin grin

It is being ferried on a floating pontoon grin grin

SANDF has NO single armoured vehicle that can drive across a river in amphibious combat. Nigeria has 1,000 amoured amphibious vehicles.

So when you climb onto a ferry which travels from one end of a lake to another....you technically have not crossed the lake unless you get into the water and get wet? Nice logic

That is a picture of SA Army engineers executing a Ratel water crossing. You can deal with it and make peace with it however you like.
