RareDiamond: For decades, FG has had an Immigration Training School in a make-shift premises with make-shift buildings in Umuowa, Orlu Lga. Let this FG bring this training school to standard. Things like these in the SE are among what people expect the concerned governors to pressure the FG to do. |

Buhari’s Presidential Ambition How Archbishop Obinna Disappointed Okorocha, APC Posted by admin on Jan 19th, 2015 Shock moments were said to have gripped top echelon of the All Progressive Congress, APC, especially the Imo State Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha as their bid to woo the Catholic Church through the Archbishop of Owerri Catholic Archdiocese, His Grace, Most Rev Anthony J.V Obinna, met a brick wall, as the cleric ended up throwing more posers to the party. Part of the Presidential campaign programme of the APC in Owerri last Monday was a courtesy call on the Archbishop after the rally at Dan Anyiam stadium, Owerri to seek support. Trumpeta was informed that considering the enormous influence of Archbishop Obinna as an opinion moulder and one of the leaders of thought, getting the support of the maverick Cleric was part of APC agenda in the South East, hence the resolve to visit him at the Assumpta Cathedral. Things however turned awry when in his reaction, instead of dancing to the tunes of APC, Okorocha rather threw up more challenges at Buhari and his top flight APC members which included Okorocha, former Lagos state governor, Bola Tinubu, Dr Ogbonnaya Onu, Dr Christ Ngige, Senator and former Governor of Anambra state as well as Buhari’s campaign Director General and Rivers state governor, Chibuike Amaechi. After Buhari’s opening speech which centered on 2015 election, Archbishop Obinna in response took exceptions to reasons why the APC presidential as military head of state took over power in 1984 from civilian government. Relying on his doctorate degree thesis, the Catholic held in Owerri Archdiocese said according to a report by the Leader Newspapers, a weekly tabloid of the church in the state. “On December 31st 1983, a moral crisis in Nigeria gave way to a military coup d’ etal. In his broadcast to the on the reasons for the coup, which toppled the civilian government presided over by Shagari, the new military leader of the nation, Muhammadu Buhari said that the army seized power in order to put and end to the serious economic predicament and the crises of confidence now affecting our nation. Corruption had attended unprecedented heights under Shagari said Buhari dismissing as rigged the August election that Shagari a second four-yr term. There is ample evidence that rigging and thuggery were relative to the resources available to each of the country’s now banned six political parties. Buhari added that his government will not tolerate kick backs, manipulated contracts or over invoicing nor will it condone forgery, fraud and embezzlement”. The Leader story said Archbishop went further to ask before Buhari and APC chieftains “have we moved forward or backwards from this point”. Archbishop Obinna went further to tell Buhari “I ask your Excellency, can we live together as one people, one nation in Nigeria? Can we with the multiciphely of our conflicts stick together as one country. Archbishop Obinna said to Buhari: “Well before I knew you, your name has been on my doctorial dissertation, published in 1984, And we are yet trying to forge a nation, one people one mind” He asked “Do we have one God or many Gods….? Archbishop Obinna who spoke on wide range of issues further enjoined Buhari to address the issue of religion before giving chance to the APC team members like Tinubu who prayed Nigerians to deemphasize issue of religion in politics. Okorocha however thanked the Archbishop for warm welcome and further informed the cleric that Buhari is the change Nigeria needs to turn around fortunes of the country. “If Buhari has not converted to Islam his cook and driver who are Christians, how can he Islamise the whole country”, The Imo governor added. http://www.imotrumpeta.com/?p=13546 |

RareDiamond:from what u ve lay down so far from above,it shows his administration really try for the east.. In terms of position,i dont seem to put interest on that... I put interest on tangible assets and development in the east wich i expected jonathan to lay his fingers on it... Position given by eastern elite does not concerned me in as much they re mere name but not a tangible thing that add development in the east.. I want river niger complete,i want road, and i want rehabilitation of schools and roads etc..if he can take position and give us assess road and water.I will be ok wit it o cos I dont mind... the only position i seek for ndigbos,is the number one seat of nigeria, which is the seat of the president.hope nigerians know am not asking too much? |

tonychristopher: Shut da fvck up, you common trader. Igbos are a collective mess..They are politically one huge directionless and purposeless tribe, we have no need for them. Who even cares about Igboland, definitely not Ikwerres cos we don't go there for anything but i swear the Igbos can't do without Rivers State. Brace yourselves for a new 'beginning' by May..'New improved' levies coming soon.. There shall definitely be no love lost between Us from thence. |

emmysoftyou: My brother, positions matter as a lot. Most of the projects their were attracted by Igbos were or are in high in positions. Examples are Lt Gen Ihejirika, Vice Admiral Ezeoba, Ms Stella Odua, Dr. Onyebuchi Chukwu, Barr Emeka Wogu, Capt Emmanuel Iheanacho, The head of DPR from Imo State, Mr Chidoka, Prof Nebo etc. So positions are important although positions given to corrupt and unpatriotic Igbos are useless because they simply use such positions for their selfish interest(s) without any benefit to their people. 3 Likes |

millionaireman: ^^^You need to be a bit more specific on exactly which state in the SE you're referring to! You certainly can't include Governor Chime and Enugu state in your assertion; the jury is still out on Governor Obiano as we're yet to see any finished project....but from what we can see thus far with how he's approached inherited and new projects in the state, i'd wager he has high standards and good taste as well; Imo state and Governor Rochas?....I believe the quality and durability of some of his finished projects leaves room for improvement, but i'd say he's ok as well (my problem with him is that he likes to do stuff on the cheap a lot); i'll have to agree with you -a bit- regarding Ebonyi, as Governor Elechi has an antiquated and ancient taste.....one can't see the world-class quality in his projects considering the amount they all cost; on Abia and Ochendo-Global?.....I agree with you wholeheartedly! |

HopeAtHand: No blame n you, there are people who continue to reply you as you talk about Ikwerre on a thread about Imo state. Before you come from Ikwerre which is not up to 200,000 people to confront main Igbo of about 35,000,000 people, you needed to go first and solve the mess some of you Ikwerres are in with the Okrikas. Okrikas number less than half of Ikwerre in the same Rivers state. Anyhow, good that more than 90% of Ikwerres cannot be like you. Retire to Rivers state thread - if there is any. What is your "new beginning" about? Buhari presidency? No body is going to run away for that, but be assured, you shall cry last if any miracle makes it come to be. |

[s] HopeAtHand:[/s] I think you av' over stayed your welcome in thread. People are giving you attention, and you think you are important. We av' told you in the other thread,we Igbos don't care about Ikwerres. Igbos doesn't av' anything in common with Ikwerres, therefore,Ikwerres must stop speaking or bearing Igbo names.you people should start speaking your Benin language. Stop derailing this thread. Igbo = Nation. Ikwerre = tribe Igbo = Over 45million worldwide. Ikwerre = 400000-500000 worldwide. Igbo = 5 states + Ikwerre = 4 Local Governments. And more... Therefore, stop playing this "notice me" game, nobody knows you,and nobody wants to know about you and your ikwerre. Stop coming here to disturb us. Go to Benin thread or Ikwerre thread. Thanks. 1 Like |

Okrika issue is partially resolved..You Igbos created that mess for Us..Ikwerres are constantly working towards achieving a better Port Harcourt..all outstanding issues will be resolved soonest. Now to a very important issue, Whats your take on the proliferation of hotels in Owerri...Is that the kind of development the town needs? 1 Like |

Donmarrius: Stop being silly with unnecessary comparisons. Abagworo decided to mention Port Harcourt and Oyigbo in this thread..he even called Oyigbo as Obigbo(an insult to Rivers sensibilities), at that point he invited me to this thread. Anyone who steps into PH would have to conform to rules guiding the city and abide by it.I dnt like ChimpAmanda Adichie telling Ikwerres to revert Rumu to Umu and saying all sorts of Rubbish. We did not drag Igbos to PH, so they should carry themselves in manners befitting visitors as it is least expected of them. I have bought 'Land' on this thread and must surely 'develop' it to my 'taste'...yu digg?? |
