Chadian Soldiers, Not Violating Nigeria’s Integrity, Says DHQ by fitzmayowa: 2:44am On Feb 04, 2015
The Defence Headquarters on Tuesday denied media reports that troops from foreign countries operating in the ongoing campaign against the insurgency in the North-East were violating the nation’s territorial integrity.

The Defence authorities stated in a statement posted on the official web site of the military that the involvement of troops from Chad, Niger and Cameroon had not in any way compromised the territorial integrity of the country.

It was stated that contrary to insinuations in some quarters that the foreign forces were moving into parts of the North-East without authorisation from the Defence Headquarters, Nigerian Forces were in charge of the planning and prosecution of the campaign within the country.

It was added that while Chadian Forces had been deployed in Baga Sola, a Chadian territory, there had been a joint deployment of troops from the participating countries in Kirawa, Ashgashiya and other areas along the borders of Nigeria Chad and Cameroon.

“The Multinational Joint Task Force in which Nigeria, Niger, Cameroon, and Chad have contingents that are part of the ongoing onslaught against terrorists in this region.

“The countries that make up the Lake Chad Basin Commission also had some understanding, which now enables a massive move against terrorists from all angles.

“Contrary to the impression being pushed in some quarters, it is the Nigerian forces that planned and are driving the present onslaught against terrorists from all fronts in Nigeria; not the Chadian Forces as is being propagated by some media.

“For instance, Chadian forces have been deployed in Baga Sola, which is a Chadian territory.

“There have been some joint deployments and patrols around Kirawa, Ashgashiya and other locations in borders of Cameroon, Nigeria and Chad as part of these operations.

“Chadians and others are however keying into and working in concert with the overall plan for an all-round move against the terrorists as agreed.

“Nigeria’s territorial integrity remains intact,” the statement read.

Although, the military authorities have been quiet about the intensified military operations in the North-East, investigations revealed that troops had commenced invading the Sambisa Forest locations of the insurgents.

It was learnt that the soldiers started the invasion of the Sambisa Forest in the early hours of Monday and had been in pursuit of feeing insurgents.

A security source said that the military operation involved massive deployment of Air Force personnel and platforms and ground forces who were said to have dislodged the insurgents from their location.

It was learnt that many of the insurgents had been dislodged from their Sambisa strongholds into the Michika, Madagali and Gulak and other areas of Adamawa State.

It was said that the troops and forces from the collaborating countries had been engaging the insurgents in several fronts in the North-East.

Our correspondent contacted the Director, Defence Information, Maj. Gen. Chris Olukolade, on the telephone for his comment on the ongoing invasion of Sambisa Forest by troops, but he declined to speak on any specific battle.

He said that the military was carrying out a lot of operations in the area.

Chad’s military had four days ago captured the border town of Gamboru from Boko Haram.

The capture of the town is the latest in a series of the Chadian’s soldiers incursions into Nigerian territory as it battles the Islamist insurgent group.

According to report, Chadian forces have also liberated Baga, Dikwa, Malam Fatori, Damasak, Ngala and parts of Bama in the past four days, Jubrin Gunda, a spokesman for a Nigerian militia group, said.

This fact remain inevitable. Although some nigerians would prefer to believe the chadian are the one making the impacts. Our boys are kicking the a55 of those virgin seekers in every of their hideouts in Nigeria and more recently across the nigerian border. We re all fighting for the good values of our people and their various religion that is been torn to shred by this elements of terror.
A single terrorist killed is a victory attained. And this victory must be achieved by the force of arms.

What took them this long to inform the Nigerian people of this joint effort? Must they wait until citizens cry out to release such information, which actually appears to be a face saving scheme?

Another reason why the clueless one must go!

How the mighty has fallen. In Fr. Mbaka's voice, Jonathan met Nigeria ns we moved from Goodlluck to Badluck. Imagine Nigeria now depending on foreign army just because we have Jonathan as lame C-in-C.

How does this prevent GEJ from returning to Otuoke on May 29, 2015. Two weeks to election and they are now cooperating with Chad. Chad whose President, Idris Debby, along with Ali Modu Sherriff and GEJ are sponsoring Boko Haram. I feel sorry for those innocent Nigerians whose lives are being destroyed due to the political greed and the complete unwillingness of the drunk dunce to tackle corruption in the military If GEJ returns, everything will be back to square one. And thousands of Nigerians will continue dying for the next four years just as they have for the last four. Corruption in the military will exacerbate; after all the money they are stealing is not enough to buy Peugeot so why should the service chiefs be arrested?

The man performed this badly when he still needed to be re-elected. I can't imagine what he will do when he no longer needs the mandate of the electorate. Vote wisely on Feb 14

If the media report did not see boko haram running into Chad and Cameroon for covers after damages have been done as violation, they should Chad and Cameroon soldiers running into Nigeria to demolish the boko haram as violation either.

With all the security budget and all? We now looking to chadian government to help us solve our problems. So much for corruption. Playing politics with just everything. We deserve the kind of leader we get. Again I repeat, I can never and will never vote GEJ into power again. We are now a laughing stock to much smaller countries. Shameful!!

AU has asked him to declare his assets, and we are currently waiting for him to do so. Lets see how lucrative politics in Nigeria has been so far.

Bunch of Dummies.
Dummy generals and a clueless commander in chief.
Nothing stopping Chad from flooring the accelerator on their tanks and helicopter gunships and going all the way to abuja.
By the way, these clowns and asari are the ones who are supposed to lead jonathan's creek army into a civil war.
I laugh.

[b]Can it be beyond the realm of possibilities that Chad troops are working with Americas CIA and the same Chadian and Camerounian soldiers change into mufti and transform into Book Haram when it suits them.

Are the current Camerounian and Chadian governments not a puppet of France ?

Truth is that PDP's Nigeria has long surrendered sovereignty of our nation to the USA.

Remember GEJ saying "America would know, its their money " when he was asked about the missing $20bn ?

Have noticed how America is now always involved in our affairs as if Nigeria belongs to her ?

Ebola is hoax , yet on America's instructions our govt played along with the script that there was an Ebola crisis. If you think this is far fetched , then allow me to make a bold prediction:

If PDP do not manage to stop Buhari by the 14th Feb, Ebola will re-emerge as a reason to postpone the election.

America despite what they say in public is not a friend of Nigeria and does not want Buhari as president. Because Buhari would work regain our sovereignty.

My biggest fear is that Buhari will be assassinated (God forbid! )

A plane crash would be least suspicious way they could do this. A Buhari assassination could launch this nation into the type crisis that give America the excuse to use UN to break up Nigeria as they had predicted.

Please pray for our General and for Nigeria.

The principle of see no evil hear no evil at work here lest the PRO divulge critical intelligience unknowingly for sahara to pick up and disseminate to their comrades under siege....but we would like to see more chadeans onground especially their world famous IFVs aka technicals maybe teach us a thing or two about desert warfare... nevertheless Kudos to our Airforce and Army for taking the fight to the demons down to the very holes they came from...

Yes oh he must be replaced with the daft & dumb old pensioner who has NO plan how to deal with Boko Haram, abi

I’ll meet other generals to draft anti-terror plan – Buhari

The Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), on Wednesday said that though Nigeria is a rich nation, its people are extremely poor due to bad governance.

He also promised to involve serving and retired military generals to devise an effective strategy to crush insurgency in the country, if elected as President in 2015.
