Abagworo: Well, Gov. Rochas Okorocha is fast becoming a momentum in Imo state. Few want to see any of Okorocha's imperfections as he rolls along; imperfections like Okorocha's excessive desire to make the state capital a New York overnight, without corresponding infrastructural developments in other towns of Imo state. It also plays well for Okorocha that he is about the first Imo state governor who no body has accused of stealing the state's money. |

Okorocha advises Igbo in North to stay put on February 05, 2015 / in News 4:21 am / Comments By Levinus Nwabughiogu ABUJA—Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State has advised Ndi Igbo resident in the northern part of the country to stay in their locations during the elections, saying movement is only necessary if they are coming home vote. Okorocha also enjoined the Igbo not to panic, assuring that the elections would be peaceful, free and fair. Speaking in Abuja after a meeting between leaders of All Progressives Congress, APC, and its National Assembly candidates nationwide, the governor also dismissed insinuations that the party’s presidential candidate, General Mohammdu Buhari (retd), would pursue an Islamic agenda if elected. According to him, the idea of Islamizing the country was propagated by Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, which he accused of dividing Nigerians along ethnic and religious lines. According to him, “it is uncalled for to return home. There is no need for it. The elections, as far as we are concerned, will be peaceful. Nigeria and Nigerians are only passing through a challenging period in their political history. “That does not mean it will bring about crisis. I do not think so. Unless for Igbo who have registered at home. They should come home to vote. But those who registered in the north should stay there. “Again, this is one of the things we have been complaining about. Since the advent of PDP, this nation has been polarized between Muslims and Christians. “That is the most dangerous point PDP has introduced in the Nigerian politics. Before now, you do not even know where you come from or who is who. We were all one. “But when PDP decided to go to churches and other religious houses, they polarized the polity. That is why the only thing they have to say about Buhari is that he will make the whole Christians become Muslims overnight. “The General was once the Head of State with Idiagbon; very powerful then. With decree in their hands, they could not Islamize anybody. Is it now we have National Assembly and state Houses of Assembly they will do that? It is not possible. “This is cheap politics by PDP and that is what is creating the tension. Nigerians love themselves and this campaign of hate introduced by PDP is also very worrisome. “But what is before us now is more than the sentiments of tribe and religion.” - See more at: http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/02/okorocha-advises-igbo-north-stay-put/#sthash.LI9B34nc.dpuf |

ChinenyeN: Cant rily rember your question...ask again. But i hope u know i cant get it 100%, but atleast, i shud get an idea. ChinenyeN...u seem alot more reasonable than the others who resort to insulting Ikwerres unnecessarily on NL because Ikwerres want out of the larger Igbo tribe, afterall, it isnt a crime to want self-determination .. Being on our own will ensure we preserve what is left of our culture, tradition and customs, without losing it to the larger domineering Igbo society..Its unfortunate but it is what it is. We are determined to ensure our efforts to universal recognition as a separate entity is achieved and God will ensure our aspirations come to fruition..Amen |

HopeAtHand: The question: Ndii uwala obe i hie l'Ikwerre? HopeAtHand: I actually wouldn't mind discussing this topic with you, if we were to open it up on a different thread (and in my opinion, a different section). I have no intention of usurping the theme of an already-established thread. |

Re: Few Pics From Imo State by HopeAtHand: 10:59pm On Feb 05, 2015 |
ChinenyeN: @ bolded...Which part of Ikwerre do i come from? I would like to open a new thread to discuss Ikwerre people and their divergence from the greater Igbo society, but, this Owerri thread already suits the purpose, so we can continue our issue-based-arguments ( apologies to APC) here. Seriously, i have archaeological proofs to show that the Ikwerre language is the mother of the Igbo language.. Carbon dating and tests carried out has proven that Ikwerres are the progenitors of the larger Igbo nation.. When Akalaka left benin empire, he settled in an area largely uninhabited by any other humans..Upon expansion, he came in contact with Ngwa/efik people which resulted in a cultural mix which was cemented when Wagidi left and joined the larger Ikwerre society. In 1217, Elenwo left the central Ikwerre axis of Ibaa, Ndele and Obele and moved north towards Nkwerre, Orlu and Ikeduru areas to start new settlements..This he did with his sons.. The details arent very clear now, they are abit sketchy but i will come back after some research to explain our findings. Daalu. |
Re: Few Pics From Imo State by HopeAtHand: 11:09pm On Feb 05, 2015 |
Abagworo: Lolzz..Will take you a year and yet u cant.. Its intentional cos i suspected someone like you with background knowledge might want to figure it out..So its actually a mix of Obio, and Ikwerre north dialects..I could choose to type in Akpor next, simply to throw you off balance. I like you somehow Abagworo, theres this humility about you..Ure definitely not Ikwerre, you don't have that Ikwerre 'violence'...and ure definitely not as lettered as i am..In a few months time, i should be rounding up my doctorate and im still a very young man..Skys the limit...You Igbos chase money alot..its kinda unbecoming how u guys place money above things that are more important. |
Re: Few Pics From Imo State by Abagworo(m): 11:19pm On Feb 05, 2015 |
HopeAtHand: I wonder your determinant parameter for lettered people if you lack the ability to write coherently devoid of short-hands. Maybe that is how Phd students of nowadays write. I also wonder if that Doctorate is from Uniport since they do give out Doctorate without thesis. |
Re: Few Pics From Imo State by millionaireman: 11:27pm On Feb 05, 2015 |
IGBOSON1: Your good taste noted. Yes, in evergreen Imo state, what would it cost the teachers and students to grow lush green lawn in that field? Perhaps the teachers and students and PTA are waiting for government to come and plant the grass. |
Re: Few Pics From Imo State by HopeAtHand: 11:36pm On Feb 05, 2015 |
Abagworo: Damn right..its from Uniport ( guess you feel alot better). This is a forum..my engagement with you isnt formal, so my shorthand can be excused as im also tired.. Abagworo, you always talk about money and the millions you made since you were 19yrs old.And since then, you've been chasing the money. The kind of money you claimed to have made from thence can only come through dedication to business, which translates to your time being devoted to money chasing. The only way to have been that rich as well as being in pursuit of academic excellence would be if your fortune was passed down family line. And seriously, your attempt to ridicule Uniport is a total fail as it remains a reputable institution by any given Nigerian standard.. Dictorates are usually awarded to highly placed Individuals and politicians, but it should be noted that well deserving scholars merit it aswell. |

HopeAtHand: O bu a. I jhenu isa a? Regarding the rest of your post, I'm interested. I would love to continue it. However, I'd much rather do so elsewhere and not in this thread. Here is just not appropriate in my honest opinion. |
Re: Few Pics From Imo State by HopeAtHand: 11:57pm On Feb 05, 2015 |
ChinenyeN: Did i get d first one right? I sincerely have no idea about ur second question. I guess Owerri people deserve to get their thread back, but im not creating any new thread either. |
Re: Few Pics From Imo State by ChinenyeN(m): 12:10am On Feb 06, 2015 |
Yes, you understood the first one correctly. In the second one, I was asking if you were going to finally answer it [my original question] now. Fair enough if you don't want to create a new thread. I guess whenever it becomes convenient for both of us, we can continue later where we're leaving off now. Ee, nyelahu we threadi we. No more unnecessary usurping. |
