Shame on Buhari for attending the security council meeting that he has avoided for 4years just to see the electorate disenfranchised. How can Mr Integrity insist that the electorate whom he seeks their votes and are qualified/ registered be denied the opportunity just because he thinks he has an edge?Another shame on Jega. How on earth can you insist to go ahead with an election when you failed to distribute 30 million out of 68 million PVCs? is it not outright robbery to disenfranchise almost 45% registered voters? Just last week, the last 15 million PVCs where flown in and yet you insisted to hold an election 10 days after? How come the embattled NE have more PVCs distributed than the SS? Why the choice to hand over northern PVCs to the emirs and sultans than the LG INEC officers like its done in the south? All eyes on Jega henceforth. His alliance to the northern agenda is obvious and he showed his cards too early. 87 Likes 9 Shares |

Inec listed series of meetings to hold today with various stakeholders before it could come up with a conclusion. I don't know why the news of postponement is everywhere when the first phase of the meetings is still holding. 8 Likes |

I'm ashamed of these PDP Supporters. I thought they were very sure Buhari can never win any Election in Nigeria here. Why all the fear? When they initially announced that it had been postponed, I bet 99% of the people celebrating on those threads are PDP Supporters. I want them to tell us why they are afraid of Election. I thought they were so sure Jonathan would massively defeat Buhari. I weep for the youths supporting Jonathan blindly. If you are so sure of winning, let's meet at the polls come next Saturday. With their (PDP) recent display of fear, cowardice, mumurism, stupidity and foolishness, I'm now very certain that it's now audible to the deaf among them, visible to the blind among them and vocal to the dumb among them that Jonathan is leaving Aso Rock come May 29th. I expect most of them to commit suicide 'when' INEC finally announces that Election would still hold as earlier scheduled! 150 Likes 9 Shares |

temitemi1: How has a postponement which seems to be what you want become a sign of "victory" for President Jonathan and the PDP and what does this say about the electoral process? We are watching and waiting to see what the next gimmick will be? Let me guess: the electronic voting machine should not be used? Boko Haram has not been defeated after 6 weeks, so elections should not hold? Not everyone that registered has collected their PVC after 6 weeks? A postponement could well work in favour of the APC because the President Jonathan and his cohorts that I know would in all likelihood plunge Nigeria into crisis first before we would have to reclaim it after a February 14 defeat at the polls. Let us see how it plays out but postponing the election is a bad signal. 29 Likes 2 Shares |

Uncertainty as Jega decides polls date 5pm There is anxiety in the country as Nigerians wait for the Independent National Electoral Commission to speak on whether it will go ahead with its earlier timetable or pick new dates for the elections. The earlier dates indicated that the Presidential and National Assembly elections are to be held on February 14 while the governorship and State House of Assembly elections are to follow two weeks later. Chairman of the commission, Prof. Attahiru Jega, is to address a press conference at the commission’s headquarters in Abuja today by 5pm. The press conference will come up after he must have met with chairmen and secretaries of all registered political parties. He would also have met with the Resident Electoral Commissioners of all the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja. Some observers believe that the commission is being blackmailed to shift the scheduled dates in order to provide ample time for those who have initiated court cases against the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari(retd.), to conclude their cases seeking to stop the ex-head of state from contesting the poll. The cases include those questioning his qualification to the contest the presidential election, and those demanding Buhari’s prosecution on the ground that he allegedly lied under oath as well as forgery.
