Sure you need to look into Getting it from Europe they have more manual tranny than the U.S.

i have got my car on the road on saturday as schedule, am however still having some issues and the mechanic seem to be doing trial and error.

the car goes off when left to steam and it doesn't start except i throttle . my last car was an 03 Nissan maxima and it didn't act like this.

i still need advice from experienced hands pls

its the old model that doesn't use MAF sensor but only Airfilter .

i have gotten it. i actually drove to Aba from ph and the movement was ok but when i slow down it doesnt pick up on time even if i return to high gear until after like 1 minute or 2 except i off the engine and restart it again.

All this started after i wash the engine on arrival from Benin cos it was dirty to a fault .

Did you scan the car prior to changing the Air-filter?

I don't think your mechanic is right sha. Does the car use a carburetor?, The MAF sensor is usually attached to the air-filter box. If the MAF sensor is faulty, it can be very frustrating because it causes random engine malfunctions.

I use c240 w203 2005. Recently I noticed if I come to a slow stop it takes like two seconds for the gear to pick up. Though not always. But I'm really concerned.
NB I recently changed the gear oil because of a leak underneath. It still leakes a little though.
So far no any check engine light. And it drives smoothly. Just that little hesitation for 2 seconds when I come to a slow stop. Pls advice needed. Tnxs guys

Before you rush to spend money at Benz Affairs, you may be suffering from uleaded fuel issues.This cars are supposed to be driven on premium fuel...I had similar issues, AU Hanson adviced me to consistently use xft in absence of premium fuel. I did that , like magic the whole issues went off, since then no such issues came up again thereafter as i have been consistent using xft at every refilling.

You need to read his article on the unleaded fuel thing, a common sickness of benz and most sport cars.

I washed the engine though....but it has bin doing like that even before i washed it.

Please, my own benz is also showing Check Engine...i make some search, I learnt that the problem might be from the Fuel.

Where can i get this xft please.

A friend is keen on buying a 2004 S350. The deal is cool and all seems ok. But the airmatic suspension is fault.
Something to do with the airpump. Checks show that a new pump can be installed for N25k.

But then, how reliable and durable is the Airmatic suspension? IS it a component requiring specific servicing regime and then again, is it a component that will frequently break down?

Any other issues he needs to be conscious about on the S350?

The W220 has its share of electrical gremlins not none too worrying. Also check if the car has ABC (I doubt it if its a 350) but that is another area of super worry. Engine parts M112.E37 are shared amongst other lesser Mercedes models (ML350 In Nigeria, and i see loads of those) so they should be readily available.

Alternatively, the S320 shares most engine components with the more popular (in Nigeria) M112 E32 engine so servicing and engine parts will even be easier. However in a car of complexity there are several other things which could go wrong. The s320 is also down approximately 25hp and 25 lb/ft of torque to the 350.

Like you said, the airmatic is a problem, not just the pump but also the individual shocks. Arnott have reconditioned shocks which are not too bad but the costs hit hard if you are not expecting it. Air suspension parts could be cheaper in Nigeria but i haven't done my research.

It could be a S350 as those were only sold in Europe. The W220 only got the 350 in the US in its final year of production and they are as scarce as hens teeth.

the injector cleaner improved my engine performance. am really grateful to the guy that recommended it.

i still get this slow movement whenever i slow down or stop completely. is this how the c 180 acts or i have other things to attend to.

i will continue using the cleaner to see if it improves further till i get a better solution
