It is mandatory for public office holders to go on a three month terminal date prior to the effective date of end of tenure. Now, a higher authority has the power to extend an officers tenure in 'special circumstances'. Wether the presidency will invoke that power and extend Jega's tenure until after the elections is yet to be seen.
