my tv developed a fault. 4 out of my tv 5av ports have gone blurry and wavy except for the ''component port'' but when I used only one av wire to connect green av (as circled in the pic) I get only black and white picture. is it compulsory I must plug all 3colors of the components accordingly to the tv set too before I can get color?




and lastly any opinions would be appreciated concerning what could have gone wrong with my tv set that made all 4 av ports go bad and what I can do to rectify it



PS: I bought a new av cord or is there a special component cord?

and lastly...is component to SD decoders as HDMI is to HD decoders?

Faith child, solution to your dish isn't far fetched if only you can go through our discussion last night.check what odilibe and George were saying concerning your dish set up to some extent it tallies with what we discussed.You don't need to change any lnb or buy the most expensive one research here has shown that even the cheapest lnb at times could out perform most expensive one.Work more on your dstv signal multitv and Amos if you get good signal of 97 u should be good
You have 97 % on your nss7 meaning your west is good your east is where you need to work more that is why your dish pole must be plum.

Note: I am using Fuji lnb and the result is superb.

i want to bring d dish down and make sure d pole is plumb.then take my focal lenght again.i want to stop d pole shaking.i will add a pole tovthe base of the pole to make it firm to the ground.i will leave it to solidify.i also want to pant d dish again it has lost some of its painting.thank u all.i will get the house informed.i guess i did a rush work and im paying for it.i should be more patient and careful next time.handling big dish is not like handling small ones.precision is d word here.i will get back to the house.GOD bless u all

@Faithchild,d no1 problem with ur dish is that is not plumb i.e d pole is not at 90degree,second is dat is not firm i.e shaking,2 solve these use concrete to hold firmly to d ground and get a plum from bricklayer when u a puting it in d concrete.I had d same problem when i moved from my rented apartment to my house last yr,due to d problem i had when removing d pole from concrete in my previous apartmt,i decided not to put concrete and d pole will shake anytime i'm tracking,so i had problem getting my hotbird 13e with my 3metre until i put concrete and make sure it was plumb.Taking about lmb,since installatn in 2010,i've been using strong 4way lmb with 74% on 10716 and vod,so tweek ur lmb well and u will be okay though i want to lay my hand on other lnbs as d guru's said

ok sir.the dish maker warned or advice me not to use dat type of lnd.let me describe the type of lnb i used.is fuji stargold.the silver seris.long tinny silver colour.it is a single outlet.so which other lnb can u recomend that is not sophisticated dat i can use.asides the fuji lnb i sured

brother.... my dish was thrown apart by a powerful storm that hit enugu last year...i tried all the LNBS .. (i used fuji )but none worked after repairs...i thought the the dish was useless..untill pitodenz from ph introduced me to SAMSON LNB... ITS CHEAP ..i think thats what you need instead off those expensive lnbs you are buying....try it ..i dont use fuji anymore....cheers

thanks at all who quoted me...according to a technician,it turned out there was an opening on the tv casing that allowed rat(s) to harbor inside the tv set ,they didn't chew any wires but their urine had caused muccor to start to grow on the motherboard, so he washed and sun dried it with fuel and did some tuning somewhere and now its back but brightish colored.


at this OP...the suggestion made by the earlier op's about putting all three components plug worked...I got color even before I took it to the technicians.thanks at all.

thanks sir...it was case of rodent urine but its all done now... a simple fuel and sun cleansing did the magic now all avs working fine but color is not as sharp as before but at least for now it works and theres little color.
