Apart from the 305 school buildings modeled like the 1st pic, I noticed dozens of others modeled in green roofs and cream color. These 3 are Amakohia, Akwakuma and Njaba.
Abagworo,I noticed heaps of dirts immediately you enter Owerri from Orlu at Akwakuma and Amakohia. ISEPA are not doing their job o!

At the end it is so wrong and wicked to lie that Okorocha only developed Owerri. More from Orlu city. The white building is located opposite the College of health. I have no idea what its meant for.

Expanded Orlu-Owerri road at Mbaitoli

Re: Few Pics From Imo State by Nobody: 12:12am On Feb 14, 2015
The while building should be a hospital or diagnostic centre. I didn't even see it when I passed there.
I think Okporo has benefitted a lot from Rochas's government maybe due to the large availabilty of land. My community is the highest developing area in Orlu.

A school of health sciences and the already existing Okporo housing estate and the ongoing construction of the Orlu township stadium.

Shots from Okigwe road. I picked up some interest in the design of the last building on Works layout. I guess it is either a Church or Event Center. The pedestrian bridge is IMSU junction.

I didn't go pass PH road via hospital road that leads to world bank. I don't know the condition of the other parts of the road especially Imo axis but I heard the road is under rehabilitation

Its a federal road and in good condition from Owerri to Umuagwo. The bad part is mainly around Umuapu.

For a change I have something to post because I have just come back to Lagos from Owerri. I usually try to go back every year at least once to show presence and check on the progress of the projects we are involved in. So I saw a new Owerri (for background let me state that even though I was born in Lagos, a wu m onye Owere, my father had a house and a business in Owerri and we used to visit every year in August and I am very, very familiar with the town). Now Owerri looks quite different from how it was the last time I was there in 2013. And of course it has changed very much from the sleepy old town I first became familiar with back in '82 or so.

There is quite a lot of impressive development in the New Owerri area; Rochas seems to have given up on Old Owerri, which now wears an abandoned look to me. I used to be able to drive around Owerri - now I dont know anywhere in New Owerri. So many hotels and bars and joints; my friends took me around some and I honestly can't find my way back there again on my own (Oh, I visited the new Ibari Ogwa, I was most impressed to see what the owner has done with all the nkwobi money we used to drop back then in the late 90s or so on Tetlow!).

I was distressed to see that the state library was demolished to make way for a structure of indefinite function. However, I was pleased to note that there are quite a number of new roads that have been opened up here and there which do make getting around quite easier. I found a new road from the airport running through my village straight to Ulakwo junction. Yes, its one of the so-called "China" roads, but at least we hope it will serve us for a while before it goes the way of all China products. We took a new road from Naze junction straight into Egbu Road or so; the seamless connection was lovely.

Apart from the abandonment of Old Owerri, I cant really complain much about Rochas' development, it does seem to lack focus and planning, to me Owerri now looks like Awka or Gusau (an old town that suddenly sprouted a lot of development due to status change, becoming a capital or something like that). Wetherell Road looks horrible now, rampant unchecked development with strange buildings springing up here and there. However, all in all, I suppose that the new roads everywhere are the best feature of the new arrangement, and I give him a pass mark there.

If I were to be in Imo for the elections, I suppose I would vote for Rochas again. If only as the best of a bad lot (what I hear about Ihedioha gives me nightmares, and I didnt get the impression that Captain Ihenacho is running a serious campaign). He may b providing cosmetic "China" changes, but they are at least better than what the previous incumbents did.

Just my penny n'afu.

A true testimony of an Owerri man about Rochas huge development in Imo (Owerri). Significant that the testimony began and ended with Owerri - as if that's all about Imo state. Anyhow, ORO shall win votes in Owerri for his development. LOL.

If Rochas had given any where in Orlu zone about one-twentieth (1/20) of his development efforts in Owerri, any Orlu person that complains against Rochas must be branded an ingrate.

For now, only Orlu talakawas who have never seen double lane roads and street light anywhere in Orlu zone before shall sing praises to Rochas govt development.

Rochas should please ban further construction of hotels in Owerri. Its getting annoying!
I was really shocked to see young girls loitering around a bar I visited this evening looking for men for sex by standing beside any attractive car they see.
Young pretty girls wasting their lives as prostitutes.
I had to guard my man jealously till we zoomed off before they snatch him away from me this night when we were about leaving the bar. Those biitches ain't smiling at all. grin grin

Berem's photoshots are so crisp and clean. Finally Ada Imo ji aga mba has suddenly shut the mouths of doubters like Millionaireman and his ilks bent on discrediting the Igbo identity of this rugged female political lioness of our time. Also Berem, I envy your town Okporo so much? Virtually every major projects in Orlu zone like the new Orlu city stadium, Nursing school, High court and mini industrial cluster have their edifice there.

Some of those young girls would have been saved the ordeal of prostitution If Rochas Okorocha had actually meant to relocate IMSU to Ogboko. But Richas believed he was a smart Alec as he used his governatorial position to acquire huge land and buildings for his new IMo ,Europe universit

Abagworo, the last time I visited Owerri I noticed how dirty the city has become. You would find heaps of refuse dump in almost every junction eg Amakohia. Why is ORO's regime deviating from Ohakim's clean and green policy? Why no strict punishment for enviromental offenders.

Honestly, Owerri as a capital has no business hosting five major higher institutions. When Rochas wanted to relocate IMSU to Orlu, Owerri people fought both tooth and nail to make sure it dosen't materialize.

Present State of Umuaka. The road, the market and the roundabout. Okorocha is embarking on the ambitious project of a dual carriageway with streetlights from Owerri to Orlu. I respect him a lot for that.
Umuaka (Now Akah City) is one town Rochas does not play with. My people are so in love with Owelle and he also, has reciprocrated that same love by giving the town a city status. The new shopping complex as well as the edifice of a road is a good testament to it.

Okorocha na Fox. He never meant to transfer IMSU to Ogboko then . Okorocha played then to get land for his private university in Ogboko.

Real. Umuaka shines now with new shopping complex. I remember one day passing Umuaka and seeing huge population protesting against ORO for taking over Umuaka market, they were carrying coffin and protesting against ORO for taking over the Umuaka market.

I also saw the shopping complex at Umuaka which is still ongoing. Umuaka has really changed. The massive health centre too at Ugwu Njaba near Okwudor is a magnificent edifice.
Rochas di too much abeg! So much has been done between two years I visited last.
