Obinnio:1. You don't need to spend a day in a Geothe to get a visa, its not an absolute criteria. 2. If your course is entirely taught in English, 95% of the time, proof of German proficiency will not be required. However, knowledge of the language could be useful for your day to day communication. 3. No, you can't use visit visa for student visa, they are different things. Hope you find it helpful. Good luck! |

Re: Nigerian Students In Germany..how Do You Survive?? by Obiwannn: 6:43pm On Jan 17, 2015 |
UnimkeAk: well one can actually work for approximately 90 days in a year. let's say you're paid 10 euro per hour, could be more in a place like Stuttgart, do the Math... u would earn enough to take care of yourself for the next year and slightly more which would later be taxed 1 Like 2 Shares |

Obiwannn: It is actually 120 days and not 90. 14. Will I be allowed to work while studying in Germany? A foreign (not a citizen of an EU or EEA member country – with the exception of Bulgaria and Romania which face restrictions until 2014) student studying full-time in Germany is legally allowed to work a maximum of 120 full (or 240 half) days within a year, without having to obtain a permission from German employment authorities. The legally allowed number of working days (half days) for foreign students also includes voluntary work placements, regardless of whether the placement is paid or unpaid. Also, foreign students face an additional restriction: while working the legally allowed number of days (or half days), they cannot be self- employed or work on a freelance basis. You can find more information here! 15. Can my spouse/husband who will accompany me in Germany work too? Spouses/Husbands accompanying foreign students may, under certain conditions, be permitted to work. If you are planning on having your husband or wife accompany you during your studies in Germany and hope they’ll be allowed to work, they must fully disclose their intention to work when applying for the visa. 16. Will I be liable to pay taxes in Germany? It is the amount of money you’ve earned working as well as the duration of your stay in Germany, that determine whether you have to pay taxes or not. You are exempt from having to pay taxes if your stay in Germany doesn’t exceed six months and/or if you haven’t made more than €450 per month (considered to be income from a so-called ‘mini-job’ and therefore tax and pension contribution exempt) working in Germany. If your annual gross income is less than €8,130 you will get all the taxes you paid refunded back to you at the end of the year when you file your tax return with tax authorities. honourableseyi: wow...and that 240 half days can actually spread to 365 considering the fact that you might not actually be able to work 12 hours per half day... great news |

Re: Nigerian Students In Germany..how Do You Survive?? by Williamso(m): 10:25pm On Jan 20, 2015 |
Obiwannn: LOL!!! Money must be made!!! But... A full day is made up of 5-8hours (not more than 8hrs), while a half-day is 4hrs or less... You are not allowed to work more than 960hours per year as a student 4 Likes 2 Shares |

Hello good people of NL, I'm currently studying in Lithuania (English Language) and not a degree awarding program, i registered through an agent the man told me i will get my TRP after 5 months, the program is just a nine month program but when i got to Lithuania the school made me to understand that i can't get their TRP only if i put in for degree program which is about 3000Euro per year meanwhile they don't allow student to work in the country so i decided to go and continue my studies in Germany since i have someone who's willing to sponsor me in Germany but i only have my WAEC which is the same issue that was recently address above my post. Please can anyone link me in Germany where i can do any shity job even if its 7-10euro an hour in Germany in order to pay my school fee in Lithuania or if there is any other option open for me to get the admission in Germany or any other in country in shengen, I still have 5months on my visa. GOD BLESS. my email : thefirm1001@yahoo.com |

Hello, Im currently studying in France and would like to restart in Germany from september as I dont like it here. I was considering Hamburg or munich. I would like to know from experienced people how to go about it if its possible to obtain a german study permit in germany without having to return to naija, living conditions, how blacks are treated, how to find affordable accomodation and the possibility of getting a job whilst studying for some side cash. Thanks alot PS: I have no knowledge of german yet. and i speak french fluently. |
