Henry120: Factually speaking, Nigeria has ZERO capital vessals Factually speaking, Nigeria has ZERO vessals configured for conventional warfare Congratulations on the formation of your coast guard, the SAN (between training for high intensity warfare) salutes you!! |

Patchesagain: Looks like your Engineers forgot to include emergency brakes for parking or stabilizers. If you need 6 rocks to stabilize the Rookie-kat, what will happen when it is on the move? South African Army (SAA) = Stone Age Army(SSA) Keeping rocks for emergency use! Your new name is the SAA (Stone Age Army) 3 Likes 2 Shares |

Patchesagain: If Zuma hasn't been diagnosed with dementia yet, then someone please take him to see a doctor soon! This idiot actually had the audacity to say that the decision to combine seven existing forces to form the Sandf (South African Defence Force) at the end of Apartheid has now made South Africa’s military a force to be reckoned with on the African continent. Hahahahahahaaaaaa. Hahahahahahaaaaaa........ Not sure what his Songoma has put in his smoking muti, but he either needs to lay off the crack pipe or go retire. In reality, the current military in South Africa couldn't even fight off a few rebels in the Central Africa Republic in March last year, where 13 paratroopers were killed. They got their asses handed to them, and ran home with their tail between their legs. And here's Zuma trying to re-write history - as good Communists do - and tell the world that the army today is better than it was under Apartheid. Really? Is that why you lot of chimps sat outside the SA border in your Qatro camp, raping and killing your fellow Blacks out of boredom? Is that why you had to resort to blowing up innocent people at train stations and in restaurants to cause panic, because you couldn't form an army even if we paid you? We took down the Communist invasion in Angola with a few White boys and some clever generals. We had a couple of thousand against tens of thousands, and STILL you commie terrorists couldn't break into the country. Bunch of amateur losers. What we had was traitors within our own government selling out our country to a bunch of murdering communist Black terrorists. Period. You won nothing Zuma, you intellectually challenged nincompoop. And today, this buffoon named Zuma gives out medals because his big, brave military managed to run a funeral for the Dead Terrorist: "The president also says the Sandf’s management of Madiba’s funeral and several memorial services has demonstrated its capacity to deal with major events." Wow - what accomplishments! No need to win battles these days, just as long as the military can deal with "major" events like a few funerals and memorial services - you get medals for free! What a pathetic joke this president is. What an utter, utter embarrassment. http://ozziesaffa..com/2014/12/south-africa-mandelas-military-force-to.html?m=1 1 Like |

MikeCZAR: I'm not blaming your troops for the cowardice they showed in the CAR, this can be excused. It is the fear your Generals in Pretoria demonstrated that is truly shocking. The Nigerian military does not take lightly acts that constitute desertion. We are firm and deal decisively to any of such acts. 1 Like |

Patchesagain: Why the stones...... you forgot to add brakes ? The Olifant tank is a 1940's museum relic get that dinosaur out of this thread. Until you can provide evidence, the BTR-4E is, and still remains the best IFV in SSA. 30mm cannon ATGM capable Amphibious, all terrain vehicle. Nothing comes close to the all round operational capability of the BTR-4E. |

You'd have to have some competence, it's not a bicycle! Then again, what am I saying, I'm sure the submarine captain's were probably Afrikaners & got told to accept the zulu navigator or else. |

Patchesagain: Nigeria has 51 capital vessels in service. So much for training for "high intensity" warfare with your SUB spending 7 years at the Docks, or with your A109's spending more time grounded in 2014, and of course, your 9 Gripen pilots for 26 planes. "You're actually very well prepared." On the other hand, the Nigerian Navy has built a comprehensive security architecture which allows for a comprehensive surveillance of our EEZ using long range camera's, satellites, ships and air-borne assets all connected to the wider RIMPAC network using a series of data links. Can we say the same for SA........ NO! 1 Like |

Patchesagain: Show us Cameroonian IFV that matches Nigerian BTR-4E. Surely Zimbabwe has better IFVs than South Africa. Fool. Patchesagain: South African army is worse, about 230 units of Olifant tanks in SANDF, only 26 units have modular armour and it is not all round protection, only the vital areas have modular passive armour, the other parts of your re-welded and re-painted 1970s old generation tanks have ordinary welded steel RHA armour that Boko Haram will penetrate with HEAT warhead shoulder carried RPG. Over 200 SANDF Olifant tanks are still having the ancient 1940s invented steel armour....your tank force of those 200 will all be k.illed by 5 Nigerian T-72 tanks with ERA armour in 30 minutes. You should look well at your obsolescent army arsenal before you talk, get it ? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RX-FseDv_o4

Henry120:It is a coast guard. Yes, the business of the sea arm of your armed forces is not to fight at sea. But to patrol. Your navy cannot protect Nigeria's waters against hostile vessels! |
Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by MikeCZAR: 11:15pm On Feb 21, 2015 |
agaugust:Those missiles expired long ago, when was the last time your naval combat officers were drilled at sea in using them? A bet 90% don't never heard about something called Otomat! The Valour class frigates can intercept pirate vessels! |
Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by agaugust: 11:17pm On Feb 21, 2015 |
MikeCZAR: SAN has no flat bottom swamp patrol crafts, no high speed radar guided ocean interceptors, no long endurance patrol vessel, no stealth IPV, no stealth MPV, no stealth OPV. Go kiss your canvas shoes in the mud ! |
Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by agaugust: 11:21pm On Feb 21, 2015 |
MikeCZAR: Valour frigate is NOT an OPV for constant patrolling and you already ruined 3 of them with engine fatigue I proved Nigeria's Otomat missiles have not expired, other navies who bought Otomat same time with us are still test firing theirs very recently or still have them on board their warships like Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Venezuela. Show us war and we will revive NNS Aradu with Otomat missiles, it's range is superior to your Valour frigates overrated Exocets . |
Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by agaugust: 11:23pm On Feb 21, 2015 |
MikeCZAR: Nigeria has no threat of any hostile navy vessel, all we see are criminal pirates, so we can afford to reserve NNS Aradu and sail around in OPVs, a navy fights the war it sees, not the video game war it imagines. 1 Like |

Some of the weapons I will list have not been disclosed before now. A colleague in the same profession has the list already and I will get it. |

Henry120:On monday after the battle ended on Sunday General Shoke(CSANDF) held a press brief, telling South Africans the troops are still on the ground and that the military was awaiting further instructions from its political masters. This while Gripens, Rooivalks, a battalion and more systems were being deployed around CAR so is the president said "Go" Seleka already mauled would be wiped in hours. What was shocking? South Africa for the first since withdrawing from Namibia deploying its combat aircraft outside its boarders? Yes shocking! Also the troops fought from Friday to Sunday! No running away. Unlike some whom run out of ammo within 2 hours of a battle. Fact is your soldiers desert pure cowards! No command and control! 1 Like |

After 18 hours battle, the world sees photos of : 15 South African Elite soldiers dead 0 Seleka rebels dead No wonder SANDF Elite and Specially disgraced special forces ran to French army at Bangui airport for white-man's army protection that your destiny is very familiar with . |

Henry120:The Ratel is better than the BTR-4E 20mm cannon. 23mm cannon. 90mm assault gun. Ingwe missile. 60mm mortar. 81mm mortar. LMG(s). Water storage. You can't deploy those BTR-4E in real conventional battles again where communications, command and control are vital. |

agaugust:SAN is no coast guard. Your navy is nothing but a bunch of boys with patrol boats, no sea combat capability. The Namacurra boats have been used inland in dams and rivers. With thee Davit system the Valour frigates can launch high speed interceptors. The SAN crosses the atlantic very often, what "long range"? |
