Hello guys, I’ve been thinking about this lately. After the usual excitement that comes with getting a particular job, there comes this more enticing offer that you can’t just resist; better pay, juicy allowance/benefits, free lunch, etc and guess what? You’ve just been invited for an interview!


What this implies is that you will likely miss work for a day or two especially if you have to travel inter-state. Considering the fact that our current economic climate isn’t so cool that one should take unnecessary risks, what are these harmless but effective “lie lifelines” one can tell his/her Boss to avoid raising some eyebrows?

The day before you leave, start going through the process of falling sick. Frequent the toilet, look tired, complain loudly to almost everybody, pick your food, wretch, pretend you are vomitting. The next day while on your way to the interview venue place a call that u are on ur way to the hospital. Before you finish the call, complain that your battery is almost flat. Get to the venue and switch off your phone. When you are done call again and say you just finished a drip and will soon be leaving and that if you can you will make it to the office. Go home and rest and go to work next day. They will all be telling you sorry. Thank God i have outgrown this sha because i used to do it. Yesterday i got a call for an interview in Abuja and they are paying for the trip. Meanwhile i have already booked my flight. When i am leaving i will call my office from the airport and claim i need to go and pick one outstanding job. The implication is that even my company will pay for my trip. So i will get a refund plus the one to be paid by my potential possible employer. When i come back i will tell them the Director of Lands did not show up in the office all day And no other person has a key to where the files are kept. Chikena.

GOD is so merciful, If all d sicknesses wey person don thru lie lie claim come upon d person chai!

Just tell your boss you have an interview to attend, note what he/she has to say. explain things to him/her logically, I believe most of us wants to succeed in life even including your boss. If you are really important to the company and they value your work, they might work out something better for you in that organisation.

You don't have to tell a lie to achieve anything in Life, where you are destined for you would surely get, there and most likely not by lies.

In my own coy, the personnel officers do not approve Casual Leave (which you're definitely entitled to) on the claim that you're going for an interview.

If needs be and power granted, most private coy would want their employees to remain with them till thy kingdom come

Was in d same tite corner sometime ago,but after cracking my brain was able to bail my self out, it was highly well planed but hilarious excuse.this my manager was so mean and wicked dat deserved nothing dan my excuse..ok dis is how it goes'i was aware of d interview like 2 weeks ahead and keep thinking of d way forward without even notified her.a day 2 dat day,i jst make a perfect plan wit a woman dat sell provision opp my house so on dat day when d interview was by 1.30pm as early as 9am went to her office to giv her normal official report aand deliberately left my official line,which any body can pik on her table and left.after like 10mnts she stated looking evry where 4 me and shouting Olash Olash Olash go house now sombody just call frm ur house now dat d flat nxt to u is inflame and u should go now b4 area boys park all ur belonging all in d name of assistants..me jst left office shouting yeye d new Ajo I collected from office a day to dt day is @home ooo,and I jst went strait to d interview venue and low $ behold after 2 month I was call up 4 emplymet and dats where I am till now..lols hope u all decipher wat d woman told her and wat I dii was to call her to call my official when I was out of madam office..may God 4give of a well deserved lie

True,but I no gree...looking at the bright side,my enterprenueral mindset keeps telling me that I'm bigger than my present state of mind(company,colleague,situation e.t.c) so each time I take the risk of leaving the office(atimes without excuse),its with the mindset that a better offer awaits me on the other side...

Yes some can be inconsiderate and all that, but it boils down to the kind of relationship you have with your boss. No matter how hard someone is, he/she can be broken, it depends on how you tender the matter to your boss.
