kolonigga: Nice pictorial illustration, great innovation. However, I still got some questions I need clarifications on. 1. Jega told us INEC's DB is offline hence his dismissal of any hacking accusation by the political parties, How come the card reader sends data to central server in illustration 5? 2. If it's possible that the card reader uses SIM cards, that means they are data comm capable and can communicate with their so called central server, how come I cant be accredited at any of.their polling units ?why do I have to.risk my life and travel to where I registered more than 2yrs ago to vote? Why can't Nigerians in the diaspora also vote? I may not know politics, but coding is my hobby and this so called technology is rubbish. Just like saying you must make withdrawals from the bank branch you opened your account whenever you want money from your account. |

Lovexme:The card has since been shrunk to the standard size of 25mm x 15mm x 0.76mm. Although UICC cards traditionally held just 16 to 64KB of memory, the recent trend has been to produce SIM cards with larger storage capacities, ranging from 512MB up to M-Systems' 1GB SIM Card slated for release in late 2006. http://www.forensicswiki.org/wiki/SIM_Cards |

jonuel1:You are trying very hard to sound smart, let me put you upon games here.... GEJ doesn't have a sound mind to play mind games, unless he's playing it with retard beings like the ones in PDP domain... The smart ones know that he has nothing to offer, so stop forming "smarto" when actually you are just looking for what to say... 1 Like 1 Share |

overlord77: I am too a programmer, computer sci student in final year and also a political minded person. It sends real time data of accredited person's to d db: When he said d db is offline, probably they are not storing any data but @ d moment, this one is a real-time storage of accredited persons so that they will not be conflict of numbers with those that voted. 2. I believe they would have a good reasons for that 1 Like |

MRLINGTON: The batteries for these readers last for 12 hours.... Can you explain how the polls will be rigged with the card readers when the card readers don't do the voting? Think!!! PDP is just jittery, it makes it difficult to randomly inflate figures or submit pre-thumb printed ballot papers. The only way PDP will be able to rig is plain intimidation and with the attention on this election, that would be difficult to achieve. The card readers should stay! 4 Likes |

My people perishing from lack of knowledge. What makes U think that this so-called card reader can't be manipulated? Imagine fixing election from 8am to 1pm. Whether there are still remnants of people to vote, they don't care. They'll stop d voting and count d votes. Imagine d waste of time for every head/person that comes to vote before he/she can vote. Nigeria and waste of time. With this waste of time, closing at 1pm will be wrong as many won't av opportunity to vote. It may lead to d next day. God help Nigeria and Jega if his plans are genuine. I don't trust d card readers not one bit. Am in d rear north and I know their political plans with very underage people who av gotten PVCs to vote. Its well O! |

yaskarahyelhope: Accreditation in previous elections was always between certain hours (8-12 or 8 -1) before actual voting. The use of card readers did not bring about the change. |

The main essence of the card reader is ONE MAN ONE VOTE! And after all its a welcome development, most western countries use electronic system of voting. Those opposing the card reader don't want change. Should we go back to the stone age system of ballot box snatching? I have been hearing of pdp agents buying pvcs, but guess what they are wasting their time. No person can use another person's card to vote and besides the EU observers and other international observers approve of the card reading system. Hacking is almost impossible , but hey there are hacking gurus out there but the chance is very slim. 3 Likes |

Our amiable GEJ wants to use technology to fight corruption but doesn't want to use the same technology to fight rigging. I thought they said Buhari will take us back. How come it's the "Illiterate" that is now advocating for use of electronic card Readers to prevent the corruption of rigging as has been done in other advanced countries of the world, while the so called "21st century" presido now prefers manual, archiac, out-of-date/conventional voting even though the whole world including Ghana and other less ranked African countries used the electronic card readers unprecedentedly . 1 Like |

Am very scared of this card reader because I feel is aaway to rigg the election technologically. Look at the way people hack bank account even ATM matchine as well as DSTV even government files . jega can as well give one sided party the reader and they can just take the ic software to go elwhere like china where it was manufactured to reproduce more card reader to give their member power to print more pvc that can match the so called reader . or some folks can send some kind of virus or fire wotks that can damega the memory card and such virus can harm the election plans. That's my opinion on this card reader .. We should think about the bad side of it too. |
