Henry120:Nigeria can't deploy her fighter in a contested air space. Nigeria can't deploy her paratroopers against conventional force as they'd run out of ammo, and receive no reinforcement. In the end they'll get a hiding. 1. No light artillery. 2. No specialist vehicles. 3. No follow up force. 4. No air supply capability. 5. No special forces medics. 6. And more! Your armed forces are still rebel force, no where the SANDF. Have you seen the CCTV baga report? 2 Likes |

iterator24: Exactly! Building a floating dock on our world class ours would be a waste of money and brains. But because nigeria can't build world class ports, next best is a ramshackle floating dock. That's what happens when you get mommy to protect you against south africans who would've held your hand and helped get real ports going . 1 Like |

@agaugust is a much more intelligent and truthful man than we all thought! Augustine says: January 6, 2015 at 4:21 pm Oga Oje, let’s not overrate ourselves. NAF has no experience of air to air combat and combat against ground missile defences, NA has no experience of tank vs tank or artillery vs artillery, NN has no experience of ship vs ship or submarine warfare. We have experience against rebels and insurgents and we are the best in that area for sub-Sahara, Algeria has won her own insurgency war. Nigeria should buy missiles, submarines, frigates, 4th generation jets, 3rd generation tanks and engage in big land-sea-air exercises like operation sea dog of 1985 that exposed our armed forces communication weaknesses in battle theatre. Let’s stop overrating ourselves like super eagles defending champion that failed to qualify for cup of nations. If Nigeria is not excellently prepared, Chad can hold us to stalemate in war. https://beegeagle./2015/01/03/nigerian-air-force-switch-to-a-new-line-of-serial-numbers-as-modernised-hind-helicopters-get-inducted/ 2 Likes |

patches689: Terrorism in France is worse than Nigeria. Boko Haram has never locked down Nigerian capital Abuja, the locked down the capital of mighty France and Paris was a war zone for about 3 days, over 80,000 French police, SWAT, BIR, and army were deployed and civilians were killed. Terrorism is terrorism, size does not matter. Well, Abuja has never suffered what Paris suffered....3 days lock down . 1 Like |

MikeCZAR: Allahdadi was killed by israeli airstrikes. The Israelis had tracked him for months, when the chance came, they assassinated him alongside other hezbollah senior chiefs. He wasn't killed in a combat situation. Even so, Top Generals leading their commands in combat isn't new. Areil Sharon, Ehud barak, et al as top generals led their various commands in active combats in the yom kippur war. Nothing new, infact it is common practice as it helps raise the morale of the troops. The New GOC of the 7th Division leads his men in combat operations against terrorists in the North-East. 1 Like |

Henry120:A Major General leading his division is normal, only in divisional sized battles. where armed forces deploy more than 1 army. If a single division is deployed that division's Chief of staff and Commanding Officer need to be at the operational HQ. They're useless at the front, they'll never be able to fully appreciate the situation. 1 Like |

Patchesagain: Crude oil and gas was first discovered in Nigeria in 1956 in large commercial quantities at the town of Oloibiri and export sales began in 1958. So, in 1960 we drove the British away and took our destiny in our hands. The British did not have the courage to fight war with Nigeria over independence and left us in peace. South Africans were too dunce and too dence to grab the bulls by the horns and wrestle the white man to release your destiny to you, so dumb and senseless were you that you did not even know you had anything called destiny, reason why the Boer caged you like zoo creatures until 1994 when even Togo republic had gotten independence long before you genetic M.orons of South Africa. Shame ! If Nigeria did not lead OAU to free you, no black or coloured South African will ever own a laptop and you and me will not even be arguing here on nairaland.
