The Assistant National Secretary, South-West arm of the All
Progressives Grand Alliance, Olawale Lawal, has disowned one
Campbell Umeh-Nzekwe, who says he is the chairman of the party
in Lagos.
In a statement he signed in Abeokuta, a copy of which was made
available to our correspondent, he said the party’s bonafide
chairman in Lagos is Prince Adesina Olayokun.
He said, “We will like to inform the public that we do not know the
said Campbell Umeh-Nzekwe, and also state that he is not our
chairman in Lagos State.
“The APGA chairman in Lagos State is Prince Adesina Onayokun
and this can be verified from Lagos State chapter of the
Independent National Electoral Commission and the State Security
officials.”
Lawal who noted that the said Umeh-Nzekwe had granted a press
interview which led to a publication of a story with the headline:
‘Jonathan cannot win in 10 states’, said though the party conceded
to him his right of opinion but not under the cloak of impersonation
and outright irresponsibility.
He said the South-West chapter of APGA remained loyal and
committed to the party’s adoption of Jonathan as its presidential
candidate during the special convention of the party in Awka on
December 17, 2014.
