Cant help but drop a comment. Something in me tells me this guys will meet their waterloo soon. why? because of human lives lost. I am also most certain there would have been some sort of internal/ insider collaboration, but the killing of these innocents just changes the whole situation and their collaborators might just be sympathetic to these lost souls and rat these robbers in. I am also of the strong opinion that our policemen needs to be re-trained, cant imagine these robbers suffering no casualty. Technology can also be used to zoom into the faces of these robbers and I.D them. Couldnt sleep well. My heart goes out to the family of the deceased- May GOD comfort you and may judgement visit these robbers. Amen!

The image above shows the photos of the armed civilians that saved the most lives in the Kenya mall.. Infact, their efforts were scuttled by the useless Kenyan Army and Police.

If Kenya has done it, why not Nigeria?

Most of the folks caught in the crossfire today were responsible NIGERIANS not criminal minded NIGERIANS.

The police should simply carry out its due deligence in awarding arms licenses to civilians, but the plain truth is that it has become a necessity for NIGERIANS to bare arms.

The people who get robbed and targeted are the rich not the poor..

the 2nd guy in black is actually a plain cloth policeman

what is doable is arming security guards and trained watchmen. in every installation or building that is worth stealing from, you will always find an unarmed security guy. these guys should be the first line of defense against any gun attack,. even at the Westgate attack, four G4S, were the first victims to die, right at the entrance, if they had guns and training, maybe they would have repelled the terrorist or hold them long enough in the open for them to be targeted easily and killed

Oh Nigeria.....Which way.....
The high rate of unemployment is alarming.....

Yes, it might be high, but that is not the reason why the God forsaken Armed Robbers are shooting and killing people callously.
Those Robbers must have been very high on illicit drugs, which.definitely would affect their emotions and thoughts to turn them into very blood-thirsty and reckless monsters.
May God have mercy on the Souls of the departed ones, Amen.

am not Christ, but anyone who killed that nice lady for no aparent reason deserves to die and go to hell no matter how much they repent.
and if I don't deserve to ho to heaven for saying that then maybe heaven is not a place worth going.

These are indeed dangerous times, The picture of that lady on the ground breaks my heart...Those robbers are cursed already

Nigerians, in these times we all have to be security conscious, gun wielding thugs can attack anywhere at anytime, especially with political rallys and the likes, once you hear sporadic gunshots and it is close to where you are, you best bet is to lie on the ground...stop whatever you are doing and lay flat on the ground, bullets travel fast, the gun man wont lie down to shoot...May God protect us all.

Police do your work, Those guys must be smoked out. they must not escape Justice, This is actually the first successful robbery of a Bank in Lagos for about 7 years, Lagos Police have kind of relaxed and only go after Okada and Danfo drivers and occasional skirmishes with area boys, it is a rude awakening indeed.

I watched a Documentary on the "Terror at the mall" shooting incident that happened in Kenya..

One part of the documentary that stayed with me was that the first set of people to go in and rescue many trapped civilians from the Mall were not the Police nor the Army, but 3 Armed Civilians that had their Pistols with them. They entered the mall and actually engaged some of the Terrorists before the Police and the Army even found the guts to enter.

I wonder what the scenario today at Lekki would have looked like if about 5 random Civilians had a Gun in their cars.. undecided

The robbers would not even know where to focus on. Imagine that the Police were over powered and had to run, leaving the civilians to fend for themselves without arms.

If the Army is under equipped, I wonder what the Police would say.

We need some serious changes in our Laws.. The robbers who robbed us back the. Only gained entry because we were unarmed.. When they tried a second time and met fierce resistance, they never bothered coming to our house ever again.

it was actually 1 civilian and 2 plain cloth officers. and the civilian (called haji) his father is the immediate former minister of DEFENSE. so you can't rule out his training was different from other civilians.

I support temporarily arming civilians for them to protect themselves from terrorist attacks in places were there are no enough security forces to protect every civilian.

but legalizing gun ownership for everyone who can afford to own one is just recipe for disaster. remember, the robbers are civilians too. and since they will be buying to steal, knowing every other chap out there owns a gun, they will buy bigger guns with more firepower and shoot anyone who looks like they could own a gun.

the reason why America can afford the right for everyone to own a gun is bcoz. 1) there police almost always find the culprits. once you kill a person, they will close down the whole town in minutes and hunt you down until they find you.
2) they have militariesed there police. any incident that has to deal with suspects shooting guns, swat is in every town. they will be there in minutes/seconds. nowadays you even have some swat training schools training the US special forces on CQB on how to clear buildings in urban settings. (that's how good swat is) and swat is armed with anything a us soldier is armed with,(except for tanks or high caliber guns)

3) this is going to hurt some guys but, in most African villages where "modernisation" has no reached, you will find people are usually 'uncivilized', the way they solve conflicts is by fighting and killing each other with machetes and knives and even arrows, if these guys could have guns, there population reduction rate would grow exponentially!(and you find the main reason why this people do this is bcoz the gov't wasn't there to intervene in the first time it happen, bcoz there weren't enough police in the first place)

no, they aren't police, im kenyan and the first guy to the left is a civilian , a son of a prominent civil servant ,he has become a household celebrity since that attack since he was one of the first armed licensed civilians to respond and save lives.

I am with you on legalizing arms. It's about time. We feel really helpless. And we need a real reform of the police which should include decentralization.
I don't support legalization of weed though.

I do not support this. We score low in compliance with laws, rules and regulations. Pictures of jungle justice comes to mind here. I envision frequent shoot-outs as a result of quarrels between neighbours. I also picture people shooting down police officers for stopping them and likewise, an increase in crime. Legalizing arms will do more harm to us than good.
