I Think people are confusing "influential" with the word popular. If we are talking of influential, in the strict sense of the word, then it is Tinubu and "the rest" as Edogirl2 stated. What Tinubu has achieved in the past 8 years is phenomenal and unmatched. He retrenched the PDP from the SW and created an entire political dynasty of leaders like Fashola, Aregbe, Fayemi, Ajimobi, Amosun et al. He worked tirelessly for the formation of the APC and outwitted the PDP at every step of the way. Tinubu is the ultimate kingmaker and the most intellectually sagacious politician in Nigeria. No other has matched the achievement of Tinubu in Nigeria's post 1999 politics.

As an example to put things in perspective, Atiku was a founding father of the ACN along with Tinubu. While Atiku ran from pillar to post seeking whatever he felt would make him President, Tinubu sagaciously and single-handedly built the ACN into a formidable Party that would go on to produce 5 out of the 6 Governors in the SW. In the process Tinubu, with no political position, outwitted and out-manoeuvered very powerful politician and office-holders like OBJ, Gbenga Daniel, Dimeji Bankole, Alao-Akala, Segun Oni, Oyinlola et al. The ACN went on to merge with others to form APC and Tinubu remains probably the most influential politician in the Party to the extent he got his candidate for Lagos (Ambode) over the line ahead of that of Fashola and got his choice (Osinbajo) nominated as VP candidate to Buhari. Tinubu was also responsible for getting all SW Governors to deliver unanimous delegate votes that saw Buhari emerge the APC candidate easily. That is grade A political 'influence' that is not to be confused with popularity.

Being popular is not the same as being influential. For example, Tinubu is not popular, but he's super influential. Currently no one compares to him when it comes to real politics. The man is a political wizard who can play all shades of politicsgrin

Buhari's current universal standing has a lot to do with the 'Western boys' (Tinubu) who are the brains behind his repackaging. People like Amaechi have also thrown a lot of money in the project.

Tinubu remains their master. He re-packaged Buhari to have the level of appeal he currently enjoys. Tinubu first, followed by GMB.

Abeg are you people talking about the most influential politicians in APC or what? Tinubu indeed!!! Wé Saw How influential he was during the ondo and ekiti gubernatorial polls.

That man's influence ends in Lagos and even that Jimmy Agbaje would soon bring that to an end .Let me see How He will save Ajimobi from defeat come April 11 .

Buhari is influential yet PDP has been ruling his state since 1999.CPC inspite of all thé noise only managed to win just 1 state. Thé illiterate himself is about to enter thé guiness books of record for presidential election defeat .So much for influence

I can't even wait for the elections to be over so that all this yeye propagandas can come to an end.

Tinubu this, Tinubu that how many elections did he win? Why don't you put injustice Salami first on that list as he was responsible for the ascension to office of Fayemi and Aregbesola and not Tinubu.

What is an inconsequential inbred like Obj doing on that list? The man lost elections even in his own ward and could not even secure a mere senatorial seat for his daughter.

Tinubu is influential in Lagos just as Peter Obi is in Anambra or James ibori is in delta

Jonathan's influence is negligible coz whatever influence he currently wields is by virtue of his current office as President. Outside of office he can barely deliver his ward.

Abegi so much noise about 12m votes. If he is influential with12million votes what would you say about GEJ who got 22million votes? Super influential?
Even if all the senators Governors and HOR members in benue state are backing Buhari a Fulani man would never win elections there.

Add your name to the beginning of that sentence and link it with ‘the man' using the conjunction ‘and'

Your question is not clear to me.

But in relation to Amaechi, prior to his fallout with Mr Jonathan, little was known of him outside his region. That's not a slight on him, as the way Nigeria is, it is difficult for a State governor to have influence beyond his state, let alone across all Nigeria.
Amaechi has been popular. He was the Speaker of Rivers State House of Assembly and Speaker of Committee of Speakers in Nigeria from 1999 to 2007.

How do you know GEJ cannot deliver his wards outside office? Has he lost yet? PDP has won virtually every elections conducted in bayelsa state since 1999.If anyone has failed to deliver their wards that should be Buhari and Obj.PDP has been ruling katsina since 1999.
