EVarn:lol, seems he has a grudge against you or that was his only point of contribution which is misleading at best and unnecessary at worse. However, it's a massive shame and embarrassment that his literary prowess and splendid arrangement of facts were never employed to serve Nigeria in an international thread as this. What a waste. 1 Like 1 Share |

agaugust:NAF stands no chance. Even a tiny grain. The Gripen with its modern capabilities will intercept your F-7s from the flanks outside your radar angular coverage. This is what 4th Gen and 5th Gen fighters do. How is your air force going to deploy outside your Nigeria without C2 and air traffic control capabilities for air combat? 2 Likes |

dacostaANG: You have no technical facts or expert opinion to counter my points, so you avoid the debate. Cool , really cool. See the part of your post I bolded above, my post forced you to swallow your words, you said yesterday that Gripen C/D is better than the upgraded Indian Su-30 MKI and the latest Russian Su-30 SM Flanker. Only a poorly informed man will stand in a public military debate and say that a Gripen with weak maneuverability, poor combat radius, small payload, 120 km radar, is better than a Su-30 MKI with super maneuverability, very long combat radius, heavy payload, 400 km radar. You too just look at yourself and see the rubbish comparison and conclusion you made, then you come here and say you work close to air force pilots, you think we are fools here? No insult intended, but match your mouth power with brain power and avoid trapping yourself with errors my brother. I now suspect you are a South African pretending to be Angolan, can you speak Portuguese? I don't trust you ! . 2 Likes |

DieVluit:Where did you get your fake map from? Everyone knows that the NA re-took Baga, Monguno and all the surrounding areas and Chad only allegedly (because they lie a lot) took Dikwa, Gamboru, and one or 2 others with Nigerien troops. I use the term "took" kindly because they saunter in as if raiding a community with international press in tow (without clearing neighbouring communities), then announce to the world they have captured a territory, before withdrawing and then back to square one, BH move back in. Their MNJTF brief is to hold an area if it is part of their AOR as agreed and secure it, not pose for photos like SANDF and leg it afterwards . 1 Like |

jln115: That is for ground launch because the fire control radar is fixed on the ground and cannot fly, the air launch has fire control radar inside the airborne jet fighter and F-7 altitude is almost 18 km so the altitude becomes 18 km, and the Gripen is inferior in altitude, so it flies below the F-7 at 15 km , that NAF shoots down SAAF from above your pilots' coconut skulls. agaugust: First, you dont have BVR missiles Second, turning off your radar greatly reduces detection chances http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Air_combat_manoeuvring Third, SAAF are masters of low level flying - where ground clutter hides them from radar agaugust: You should read your own sources: Conceptually a small number of MiG-21Bisons maintaining “radar silence” can be guided towards their aerial target by a couple of Sukhoi-30s by secure data links in accordance with MFFC (Mixed Fighter Force Concept). http://www.armchairgeneral.com/forums/showthread.php?p=2428939 Gripen radar range is more than double the F-7's - some Gripen can moniter your F-7's from outside the F-7's radar bubble (F-7 doesnt know they are there) and transmit location and targetting data to Hawks and Gripen who are using low level flying with their radar switched off to sneak in and ambush your F-7's And that is just using the Gripen, not even talking about our array of ground based radar systems. agaugust: First, why are you constantly talking about raping women? Are you so lonely that you obsess about women being forced to sleep with you? Second, Nigeria has no BVR - according to ALL SOURCES the PL-9 missile has an effective range of 500m-22km. Your source confirms this, the manufacturer confirms this. Your delusions convince no-one, even other Nigerians remain silent on this topic as they know you are delusional. 1 Like |

An standard army needs : Helicopter sling portable light LAV Medium LAV Wheeled IFV Tracked IFV APC Aeroplane lift-able IFV Tank destroyer MBT Amphibious Light tank Amphibious LAV Amphibious IFV They all have different battle theatre purposes. Also, buying from just one source exposes you to arms embargo effect. Nigeria buys from across the world . 1 Like |

agaugust: Why can the PL-9C missile fly 35km away from the Ground launcher but only 6km straight up? Why do you ignore this question? Why do you run away? Were you one of the men defending Bama? Answer: Because the air launched and ground launched versions are two different things. If you want us to take 35km range as word of god, then you must accept 6km ceiling as word of god! Gipen flying at 6.5km can destroy the whole NAF in 3 min!! 2 Likes |

You know that literally every single person on this forum (including nigerians) know that you are posting info for a ground based launcher and not air-to-air? agaugust: Look - auagugbugu is saying things with no facts again. So by your own argument F-7 is inferior to Gripen: - F-7 is less maneuverable than the Gripen - F-7 has a lower payload than the Gripen - F-7 has inferior radar to the Gripen Thank you for ending the argument 1 Like |

agaugust: No. We have the necessary uranium. And that uranium is WEAPONIZED. We have the necessary equipment and skills. We also have a functioning nuclear reactor as well as nuclear development and enrichment facilities. You have nothing. Your country is not listed as being capable of building nuclear weapons. Ours is. |

andrewza: I did, but you have cataract blinding your eyes. Let me show you more, in 2010 a new F-7 variant was ready and ordered in 2011 by Bangladesh with all these capabilities : "F-7BGI Upgraded version for Bangladesh Air Force ordered in 2011. Based on J-7G, guided munition capable. 1) F-7 BGI has a speed of Mach 2.2 2) 7 Hard-points to carry air-to-air missiles, laser-guided bomb, GPS-guided bombs, drop tanks 3) Full glass cockpit. 4) can carry 3000 kg bomb, including Chinese laser-guided bombs. 5) F-7 BGI has KLJ-6F radar Fire control Radar with 86 km+ Range which is near BVR or BVR considering what is the silver lining between them and can track 6 and engage 2 enemy aircraft simultaneously. 6) F-7 BGI can carry C-704 Antiship Missiles (Therefore maritime also possible) 7) afterburner- F-7 BGI (82 kN) thrust 8.) Missiles procurement are currently unknown for F-7 BGI but they can fire the 70-75 km range PL-12,PL-11 and also PL-7, PL-8, PL-9, Magic R.550 and AIM-9 . 9) F-7 BGI got J-7G2 Airframe with double delta wing. This improves the lift at high angles of attack and delays or prevents stalling. 10) G-limit: +8 g / -3 g 11) Service ceiling: 17,500 m (57,420 ft) for F-7 BGI 12) 3 Multi functional HUD displays and Hotas. 13) Chinese Helmet Mounted Sights. 14) Reportedly more maneuverable than most of the Mig21s and many of the other contemporary fighters." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chengdu_J-7 Your stupiid question is like asking what is the difference between a 1960 Mirage III and it's 2005 upgrade called Cheetah by SAAF . 1 Like |

patches689: That 6.5 km altitude is ONLY for ground launch because the fire control radar is fixed on the ground and cannot fly with the missile into the air, the air launch has fire control radar inside the airborne jet fighter and F-7 altitude is almost 18 km so the missile altitude becomes 18 km. In air to air combat, the Jet fighter's maximum altitude becomes the missiles maximum altitude.....Simple common sense is NOT common in South Africa..... 50 million fools live in ANC prison yard, no wonder Dangote screwed one billion Rand free cash out of your corporate entities pockets and your dundee CEOs did not even notice until the cash has entered Nigerian bank....Fools .

Why can the missile still receive information from the fire-control radar 35km AWAY from the missile.... but not receive information from the fire-control radar 6km away from the missile?
