#1 Medicine yeah yeah... the number one as you were expecting is medicine. Somehow if you're a science student and you want to go into the medical line of work, the first thing your parent will probably scream in your head is medicine. It's not like there are no other dope courses, but almost every parent wants a medical doctor in the family... The amount of doctors one day will still exceed the patients.. #2 Pharmacy The one which i feel is next is pharmacy. You couldn't make medicine right, go for the next thing to it "Pharmacy". To be honest i don't like the course because of my normal hatred for drugs. I still avoid the faculty in Obafemi Awolowo University(OAU). The whole place smells like a hospital. So Pharmacy!! as NO 2 #3 Law Yes! The prestigious and proud law students of Nigeria. Once you're in the art class, the first thing you fill in as your desired course of study is Law!!! True or false?. I mean i don't really blame them, Nigeria doesn't really appreciate most of these art courses. So Law as NO 3. #4 Electrical Electronics Meet the king of the technology faculty. Elect is actually a very cool course to study, especially when you're in a school like OAU. I fancy the course myself but hey don't get me wrong, I'm a computer with Economics Student. I'm a double honour student, i have every reason to be proud *lol*. I just like elect cause you can really diversify. In elect i've met bad ass programmers, even better than some in my department. No 4 goes to Elect then #5 Architecture I for one am a great fan of this course, Ignoring the crazy stress that comes with studying it in OAU, this department is DOPE. Once you're good you're GOOD! and they're probably the students with one of the highest chances of getting a job in this country.. and apart from that you gotta go to their parties, there's no other phrase i could use.. Just Dope so there you have it the 5 top courses in Nigeria, If you feel other wise you can drop your opinions in the comment section. source: http://oshokay..com/2015/03/5-most-praised-courses-to-study-in.html 8 Likes 5 Shares |

Your topic reads five most praise courses in Nigeria. Permit me to say that the content of your message does not necessary contain the attribute inscribed on the container. My point is OAU is in Nigeria, but you using your experience in Ife to judge other Uni rating is not palatable to preference rating. If we continue bringing out all these rating(s) and someone in a Tech school bring out his, what will be your response? I would have ignore this rating, but I didn't see any Caveat Emptor. 17 Likes 2 Shares |

from my own point of view elect/elect and law should not be on that list. (before someone tries to counter my opinion, note that i studied elect/elect, my father studied elect/elect, 3 of my uncles studied elect/elect so i know virtually almost every thing about this field, here in nigeria there are not much jobs for engineers, but if you have plans of travelling to work abroad after your studies then you can study any engineering course or if you have very strong connections that can get you into the oil and gas sector then go for engineering if not choose otherwise.) This should be the top 5. 1) Medicine : After completion of ur mbbs employment is automatic and salary starts at around 160,000 for government hospitals and not less than 120,000 for private(you start your life quickly). 2) Pharmacy : Employment is automatic because they are few in number and they are widely needed in every community and work hand in hand with doctors . During the compulsory 1 year internship they earn well more than 120,000 not to talk of after graduation. 3) Med lab : the same conditions that apply to pharmacy and medicine apply also to this , just that they are less respected than their pharmacy and doctor friends. 4) computer science/engineering : this field is one of the widest fields ever they are needed in any organisation/office building making use of computers. with further training you can work as an ethical hacker, network admin, network engineer, server admin , microsoft sql admin,it support staff , software developer e.t.c in fact they are needed in any organization that makes use of computers. The only disadvantage of this course is the number of people studying it here in nigeria are just too much, the way cs is going right now i believe it would soon be converted to a college of its own. theres no number 5, because i believe the remaining courses are not worth studying because of too much competition for very little jobs. but if i were to pick a no 5 i would pick accounting because thier jobs are virtualy everywhere, look around your environment you would find banks, and small/medium co-operate businesses all these organisations need accountants. look around you would hardly find an unemployed doctor or pharmacists. but you would find many unemployed engineers, lawyers accountants and all others. 16 Likes 1 Share |

Op has missed his medication again. No course is useless...it's all about passion, and turning the passion to money. All courses are great due to the dimensions of our individualistic differences. I'm an economist with MBA(HR), and I'm pretty doing better than most people with the above mentioned qualifications. 5 Likes 1 Share |

Medicine and Law are overrated course in Nigeria, If an Engineer should blow in Nigeria No Doctor can stand him, so ah think Electrical Electronics Engineering should top the list 12 Likes 2 Shares |

If you are a student and you think you've got BRAIN, try pure and industrial chemistry . Pure and industrial chemistry should be NO 1 on that list, Nigerians and misplaced priority, SMH 12 Likes |

Law? With the unemployed barristers clogging CAC offices looking for ways to make ends meet? As prestigious as Law is, There are too many Lawyers being dolled out every year these days making the Labour market highly competitive. Some lawyers attached to chambers earn between 30-80k per month. Go to the banks, many of them are becoming Corporate Lawyers. 7 Likes |
