MikeCZAR: All militaries perform boarding exercise. They are a requisite naval technique. Nigeria and other big navies perform live fire exercises, so nothing new or out of the ordinary. The boat was deliberately targeted as it was seen as a legitimate target. Yet your incompetent, poorly trained and poorly skilled sailors missed. |

Henry120: Lol!! Go to sleep. Quote us a number of shots. U a very good at pulling numbers from thin air (e.g 9 Gripen pilots). 3 shots fired. Why doesnt Anthony Day say he hear more? This happened during the dead of night. Him and his crew would have heard multiple rounds being fired for miles and miles away. Now you want to shove words down his mouth the same way Augustine shoves his member down yours. Lol. |

agaugust: The Department of Defence’s 2013/14 annual report noted that the SAAF flew a total of 18 454 hours, or 87.65% of the planned flying hours for the year ending March 31. Of the targeted 6 300 force employment hours that were planned, only 4 471 were actually flown as “the requirements of force employment were less than predicted.” https://militaryaviationnews./2014/11/06/saaf-operationally-stretched-saaf-flying-fewer-hours/ From your own Source!! How many hours does Nigeria fly?? Thats 49 hours per day! That means that 2 SAAF aircraft are in the air 24/7 1 Like |

patches689: Bwahahaha, those are NOT combat hours dude, SAAF flies mostly VIP transport for ANC political dictators ruling you like goats Those hours reported included ceremonies like Mandela's funeral South African air force is a civilian airline using military aircraft.....read : "These issues come after years of grumbling from pilots, who said they lacked fuel and ammunition for routine exercises, and left for Australia, New Zealand and other destinations in droves. Funding is not available for essentials, the Air Force has been required to provide R50m (£3.4m) to fly government VIPS around the country and on foreign jaunts. “The South African Air Force are in danger of being reduced to an airborne taxi service for VIPs," said DA defence spokesman, David Maynier. http://www.newstatesman.com/international-politics/2013/07/south-africas-military-meltdown" #ShowUsSAAF CombatSorties . 1 Like 1 Share

agaugust: We are not at war, thus we will have limited combat sorties. Non-the less, Rooivalk flew combat sorties in DRC and Gripen deployed to DRC in order to cover units in CAR R50 million is a very small amount - SAAF has a budget of R7 Billion. So they spend 0.007% of the SAAF budget on VIP transport We have completed extensive flight training exercises in countries as far away as Angola (Operation Blue Zambezi) and massive air based exercises across the whole country simultaniuously (operation winter solistace) Here is a list of other training exercises: - Ibsamar - Seboka - Young Eagle: Airborne (Light) forces field training exercise for one Airborne Brigade (minus) - EW Camp: Electronic Warfare (EW) Camp, providing Air Force pilots an opportunity to fly in a high density EW threat environment - Pegasus: Combined air transport exercise involving the South African and regional Air Forces - Oxide incorporating Bourbon: Field training exercise to develop and maintain maritime co-operation at the operational and tactical levels between the SA Navy and French forces based in La Réunion - New Horizon: Air Defence exercise with Command & Control elements - Red Lion: Annual Task Force exercise The figure of 18 000 hours brings you much pain I see. Reminder: 2 SAAF aircraft are in the air every hour of ever day of the whole year

Henry120:Nothing technical, "other big navies" only hold boarding exercises with you. He sailed into a restricted firing zone and shells landed next him. It driving a your car into a artillery fire range and shells start landing next to you, you'll run to the nearest radio station claiming they shot you. The SA and German navies have been doing for many years it is not the first, year they used main guns to sink a strike craft. Ever heard about the US swarming boat exercise? |

patches689: - Evidence has already been provided, view my previous reply to mikeczar http://m.ewn.co.za/2015/03/27/SANDF-warship-accidentally-shoots-at-a-fishing-boat -This, and the fact that only the SA navy is stup1d enough to take shots at a poor fisherman's boat. - also the fact, only the SA Navy is incompetent enough to miss shots deliberately fired at a fishing boat. 3 Likes 1 Share |

MikeCZAR: He was deliberately targeted by your inept sailors, and your inept sailors proved their incompetence is no fluke. Anthony Day and his crew owe their lives to the incompetence of S.A navy sailors. As you can see, your incompetence saved the day. Accept your ineptitude, do not seek to draw in the Americans. Stop grasping at straws. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Henry120: He sailed into a restricted zone. The SA and Germany navy frigates are not doing this for the first time unlike some who don't do live firing exercises. By now you know the truth cause you probably have visited the SAAF forum. Yes, ever heard about swarming boat challenge. 1 Like |
Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by Nobody: 11:35am On Mar 28, 2015 |
MikeCZAR: Your Navy is incompetent, this is a well established fact. However on this day, their ineptitude saved the life of Anthony Day and his crew. All big African Navies conduct live firing exercise, I haven't read or seen a single Navy deliberately firing at a Fisherman, worse of missing. Only the South-African Navy does this. This is a fact, come to terms with it. 3 Likes |
