Nigeria has no BVR missiles.

OR

If they do they cannot fly above 6km meaning Gripen at 6.5km are safe.

Actually, Nigeria has PL-9c missiles with 22km range. South-Africa has no BVR missiles and has no missiles which come remotely close to Nigeria's PL-9C. In effect your Gripens are toast.

Here is how it will go:

South African surveilance sattelight details Nigerian positions - up to date, no way to camoflauge them

This is where it gets really interesting. In Sub-saharan Africa, Nigeria has the most comprehensive surveillance assets and structure. Nigeria currently has 4 Satellites in Space with at-least 2 of them providing high resolution image and are cloud penetrating. We are 4 times more likely to observe South-African military activities and work out the appropriate response.

South African Gripen perform high level recon with digital surveilance pods.

Superior Gripen use stand-off munitions (glide bombs) and PGM's to destroy NAF on the Ground as well as all NA fixed AA positions, radar instilations, communications hubs, command centers, supply dumps and motor pools.

Gripen and Hawk then begin targeting Nigerian ground forces with PGM's and Glide-Bombs

In addition to surveillance satellites, the Nigerian Airforce stands ready to deploy it's impressive fleet of surveillance assets. ATR-42 ELINT compliant assets are deployed, COMMINT compliant King Air surveillance planes and CH-3A drones also deployed to provide round the clock and strike missions. Data gotten from surveillance round the clock surveillance is in real-time sent to Nigeria's Primary COBRA facility(s). So we know where you are at all times and can strike at your stations

Superior PGM's are deployed from Nigerian military assets, F-7's, Alpha jets and CH-3A's. A second wave of bombings, carpet bombings is then carried out by L-39ZA's and MB-339A's. Facilities, installations and C&C are decimated.

South Africa Oryx with EW kits erode what is left of Nigerian communications.

Nigeria deploys it's various state of the Art jammers communications are virtually off, SANDF troops are left in the dark with no clear C&C structure. Nigerian Navy SBS teams are then deployed to carry out targeted strike missions and minning.

The Nigerians 72 Special forces strike battalion, NAF QRF, DSS Storm troopers and additional SBS commandos are then deployed to initial waves of attacks, then diversionary waves of attacks on enemy positions backed up by QRF MI-35M and Gazelle LSH.

South African recce's perform raids on important infastructure and positions up to 500km behind your lines, assassinating generals, blowing up vehical and aircraft storage depo's, supply and ammo dumps, training facilities etc

Now that we have destroyed your eyes, ears and brain we move onto the next phase.

Nigerian helicopters are destroyed with Starstreak, CRAM and by Hawks/Gripen

Rooivalk use ZT3's to pick off Nigerian armor

Ratels use ZT3's to pick off Nigerian armor

South African Artillery with longer range and better guidance (Link-ZA) accurately destroy all dense Nigerian formations as well as entrenched formations, communications hubs, supply dumps.

South African ELINT systems can tell every move the Nigerian army makes - up to 40km away, and calls artillery on it.

Enter Proper Nigerian wave of attacks, 3 Prong (Alpha, bravo and charlie), waves and waves of tanks backed up by Hundreds of Artillery, AFV's, IFV's and MRLS systems. With real-time data provided by NAF's advanced ATR-42's drones, Targeting the enemy is all the more special and apt.

We would pulverise the enemy with days and days of spellings and rocket attacks backed up by more than 40 Helicopters.

South African MRLS systems with longer range provide counter-battery fire to destroy Nigerian artillery

South African mechanized units with superior maneuverability, tactical-awareness and firepower out fox Nigerian troops and exploit space to get into their rear and cut them off, leaving them behind to be mopped up by Motorized Infantry

South African air-assault Brigade deploys troops deep in the Nigerian rear, cutting off escape

South African Parachute regiment seized bridges, airfeilds, startegic geographical positions and further cuts off escape

Your army was overwhelmed by Boko Haram... do you honestly think you stand a chance against us?

with targeting complete after days of precision strikes, N.A Airborne and Ground troops are sent with to complete mop up operations. Operations are conducted smoothly as NA is able to deploy both wheeled and tracked vehicles. So type of terrain won't be an issue for advancing N.A soldiers.

The Nigerian military carried out military Operations in an area the Size of Scotland and Wales effectively and decisively in 6 weeks, what makes you think a military that cannot shot a fisherman's boat stands any chance.

Except you want us to set the record for the fastest time to run over a country........ this we would much oblige. we would make the Red Army's invasion of Poland a walk in the park.

Were you there?

How do you now it was the SAN, when all the evidence suggests it was the Germans.

Even in this Thread, the South-Africans are confused and show their incompetence. See these two......... yet they want us to believe the Germans tried to kill Anthony day.

And the best thing to do is to shoot at them?,jesus, these people pay tax!,they are citizens who should be protected at all cost.
The SAN clearly failed to properly secure the area for the naval exercise, and it would be sensible to conclude that the SAN,in a fit of unholy rage, opened fire on the fishing boat. But they ended up missing the target due to incompetence.

Again who said is SAN and who said they knew it was a fishing boat and not a target.

systematic analysis along with a healthy dose of common sense reveals that it was the SAN that ruthlessly chucked out deadly munitions against the innocent fishemen.
afterall, only an incompetent navy wouldnt be able to discern a target drone from a civilian fishing boat.

Cute

Pity SANDF is allready one step ahead

Pity, you have only one unit and too heavy to transport by Helicopter.

Nigeria has many many many.....they do the same job, but we have more numbers and super mobility to fly anywhere, even across rivers.

Special forces can easily use them by helicopter deployment.

SANDF is an immobile army

Ridiculous claims.

Only 3 Olifants were ever lost in combat - all 3 drove into a mine feild and had to be abandoned.

The Olifant tore through Cuban tanks like a hot knife through butter

"If defeat for South Africa meant the loss of 31 men, three tanks, five armoured vehicles and three aircraft, then we'd lost. If victory for Fapla and the Cubans meant the loss of 4,600 men, 94 tanks, 100 armoured vehicles, 9 aircraft and other Soviet equiptment valued at more than a billion Rands, then they'd won."
http://jtf.org/forum/index.php?topic=18633.5;wap2

And in anycase - why are you comparing your brand new T-72's to our Olifant?

Your brand new tanks are obsolete death traps. Olifant is awaiting replacement with the rest of the SANDF's heavy arms after 2022
Do you still argue what is now a historical teaching guide on military defeats and loses in Africa?
Please!! Let's not talk of that war. The Angolans butchered you. Bodies after bodies kept coming into Pretoria. Your own press called it a "humiliating defeat". The Angolans had the remaining frightened and demoralized SANDF under siege until your Botha president ran to the US -who had been supplying SANDF with CIA mercenaries- for negotiations for the mercy of what is left of the SANDF.

Clearly,it was the SAN that shot at the fishing boat.I refuse to believe that the germans are that incompetent.
moreover, this isnt the first time both SAN and SAAF have directly threatened the life of innocent civilians with reckless maneovers and sheer incompetence.
You can't seem to provide an answer why would they target a boat without a reason.

which are expired oh righty then.

Prove our Swingfire expired. Egypt still uses their own.

Nigerian ordnance is well preserved, we removed long range rockets from our old MiG-21 storage and used them to knock out Boko Haram.

Rockets we bought for NAF MiG-21 jets almost 40 years ago with 150 Atoll air to air missiles, same used today effectively.

Well maintained missiles last 45 years in many cases.

All Nigerian missiles are well preserved to last 45 years

Roland SAM
Swingfire ATGM
Atoll AAM
Otomat AShM
Aspide BRVSAM
PL-9 BVRAAM
AR-1 ASM-ATGM

All the above missiles still operational in Nigerian military.

"The threat to fixed- and rotary-wing operations by Boko Haram is not insignificant, Zannah told AIN. The NAF’s Hinds and Alpha Jets had both been hit by gunfire of up to 30mm caliber, forcing them to fly higher, and requiring the NAF to fit longer-range rockets taken from its MiG-21s onto the Hind helicopters . The NAF has a fleet of 24 to 30 Mil Mi-24V/35P helicopters, and has lost two of them during operations, although not to enemy fire. The NAF also operates Mi-17, and is acquiring some new Mil-17-1 versions. “The Mil series is still the helicopter of choice for us,” Zannah noted."
