Good morning good people of this thread. Sorry for my lengthy post please.

I have a hp dv6 1355dx. I bought it used one from eBay. The laptop battery is bad it only lasts for 1 hr 30 minutes. And if I plugged in the ac and the laptop charged to some level, the charging will stop and show '' plugged in not charging''. I posted the problem here and I was asked to perform battery test and calibrate the battery. I did the battery test and the result showed that battery is weak and I should get a replacement. And some few days later anytime I start the laptop, before booting it will write '' the system detected the capacity of the battery stated to be very low. The battery may need to be replaced'', then it will proceed and boot on.

What I posted above is not the major problem of the system that is troubling me. I just gave an insight of the situation of the laptop which I think will be helpful in addressing my problem.
The main problem is, the system was formally running on Windows 7 and it began acting up. When I power on the system and begin watching movies or browsing, the laptop will work OK for 2 to 3 minutes then start running very slow and the movie will freezes but I can move the cursor and close the player or the browser . I thought it was virus or malware attack, so I formatted the laptop and installed windows 8.1 yesterday, but the problem took a new shape now, the laptop will works fine when plugged in to ac but exhibits same problem of freezing when on battery , it also run little bit doing nothing. Can this problem be due to the battery being bad please?


Good people of this thread, I want your help please. The system is at the verge of giving me HBP.

That sounds like a viral attack through the theme. Would've recommended uninstalling the app but how would you even get to control panel with a black screen?... #Thinking!

Have said this many times without numb...Installing Custom themes tampers with system files. It would have been cheaper to fix if you running windows 7. With the situation on ground.


Taking A new Window could be the last resort.

Should I uninstall my win 8 pro and and install win 8.1 Enterprise. My friend will help me with it, but my prob is that the Enterprise version is not available to the general public. So if I have to format my system for any reason or update to future versions, I might have a prob.

why dnt u go for pro,its available for every one

I prefare the Pro version buth I don't have anyone who has it... That's why I want to download 8.1 pro from windows store or install 8.1 Enterprise that available to me now.
