Igbos Begin To Mobilize Their Lagos Kingsmen Against Oba Of Lagos by Nobody: 5:56pm On Apr 06, 2015 |
Following media report that the Oba of Lagos, Oba Akiolu has issued a threat to all Igbos living in Lagos where the Oba warned them to vote for APC or die in seven days, Igbos living outside Lagos have started sending text massages to their kingsmen residing in Lagos urging them to vote against the Oba's APC to prove to him that Igbos are not cowards and cannot be intimidated. One of the texts being sent to Igbos in Lagos reads: ''News are flying around in the media that the Oba of Lagos has said that Igbos in will die in seven days if they don't vote for APC. Igbos are not cowards. We cannot be intimidated. Let every Igbo man and woman living in Lagos vote for Agbaje of PDP in the Saturdal election and let the Oba do his worst. Igwe bu ike'' Report of the Oba's threat is definitely not going down well with the Igbo community in Lagos and their kingsmen living outside Lagos. Igbo's are said to be about 40% of total population of Lagos State and one is left to imagin what impact a block vote against the Oba would make in Saturday's governorship election. 9 Likes 1 Share |

Believe you me, we will not only vote for Agbaje but we will buy off that lagoon, sandfill it and turn it to paradise right under your very nose. ![]() If not for the spirit of Easter, i would have negotiated with AMADIOHA on what becomes your fate in the next 7days too. It's obvious the anxious Oba is setting his constituency ablaze. When will all Africans realize that democracy is embedded in respect for rule of law, freedom of speech and right to association of choice. Let all vote for who ever they want. Non is entitled the monopoly of conflict. 1 Like |

Are you guys normal at all. If peace was encountered during the tense presidential election why are you all at each others neck wasting time over the governorship election. Jimi and Ambode are both Lagosians and one of them will win. Why are the Yorubas and Ibos fighting over a statement that no one is even sure it is true. Hatred will never bring peace and prosperity. Is it possible that the Obas statement will affect Ibos in Lagos? Why you all wasting time fighting. If you dont know your resources is been shared at the centre. Sit down there and be fighting each other while policies that will not favour you are been compiled for you whether Jimi or Ambode, Lagos will have a new governor next week and you will still pay tax and rent, you better face your jobs and businesses. |

Always getting their priorities wrong. If such mass action has been taken all the while in the east against errant politicians, that place would have been the envy of every other region in this country, especially given their gift for making a penny out of thin air. 3 Likes |

@OP: Mine is just to query your statistics that give Igbos 40% of Lagos population. If this were so, then the Yoruba's are a minority in their own land. Remember, it is said that there are as many as 250 tribes in Nigeria. If Igbos can take up 40% of Lagos, what percentage would the other 248 tribes (excluding the Yorubas) take? Igbos are at most 5% of Lagos. With other non-Yoruba tribes combined, they can make at best about 30% of Lagos, leaving the Yorubas with about 70%. Remember, all non-Lagos Yorubas and other tribes apart from Igbo resident in Lagos will take sides in this brouhaha and vote for Ambode. Better revise your statistics before the reality sets in for you on Saturday. 2 Likes |

In this coming election the block igbo vote will amount to nothing in lagos. Every yoruba man sees the act of pdp in lagos as an attempt to humiliate the yorubas which will never see the light of the day. Saturday is fast approaching and thenafter ambode would be declared winner. Igbos are in lagos for business therefore they should wisely consider actions that would further their business interest rather engaging the host community in a duel . |
