Valemodi: You say wetin? Tax? Really? What about; -Boko Haram -Epileptic power supply -Spending 8yrs for 4yr courses in the Uni -Selling your priced possessions just to afford international school fees. -Leaving the home at 5am for an 8am appointment/work because of traffic. You go still reach there late sef. -Pot holes as deep as my village well -Carrying a Ghana-must-go filled with money only to change it into another currency and it can barely fill your trouser pocket. . . Need I say more? And I should be bothered about tax? 22 Likes |

DeeandGLady: It is absolutely free. Just add it to your ticket when booking and you're good. If you do not know how to go about it, tell those Officials that issue boarding passes at the Airport to include it in yours all the way to your last destination. 1 Like |

Good day house, can someone help with a draft of the letter/ sample one can send to the Embassy informing them I want to go and have a baby before I go? I have a visa already over a year ago and I have been to the US twice. I have friends who have written them to inform them os such. is it advisable? I want to go to OHIO, there a good and affordable hospital TRINITY MEDICAL CENTRE. The maternity contract sent to me was : Prepayment Cost Detail: Vaginal Delivery 1-2 day stay [$2,400 for mom] and [$950.00 for each baby] C-Section 3-4 day stay [$3,725 for mom] and [$950.00 for each baby] Deposit amount $________________ Please note: Prepayment rate must be paid prior to delivery. We suggest you make payment before the seventh month in case delivery is earlier than expected. The prepayment deposit does not include other visits related to the pregnancy or physician fees. If there are complications with mother or baby the contract covers the charges for the first two days of the vaginal delivery and the first four days of the c-section delivery. Any, additional days beyond the contracted stay are the patient’s responsibility – and financial arrangements must be made at the time of discharge. bimboakin: If he has to take it to the US, then he might as well join you to the passport agency and append his signature na. That way, you wouldn't need the Consent form at all. However, If he won't be coming to the US, he will post (not scan) the consent form to you after he must have notarised it at the Embassy. This can be done at any of these postage companies. DHL, FeDex etc. |
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 2 by Nobody: 5:39pm On Apr 07, 2015 |
DeeandGLady: You've got three options; -Go to your page on the airline's website and modify your booking to reflect the wheelchair services. -Call the airline's customer care, supply your details and tell them you want the services to be added -Wait till you get to the airport and get the Officials to add it to your boarding pass. None of these will incur any additional charges. Except, ofcourse, the airtime wey u go take call them. |

Hello everyone, hope we all enjoyed our easter holidays. Pls I ve a quick question, during my visa renewal recently the VO asked if I intend using medicals on the visa and I answered yes that I will in the course of the 2yrs since I already used medicals before with my last visa (which wz actually why we were invited to the embassy during our renewal). So do I still need to write them a letter informing them of wanting to give birth in the US? Thanks for ur kind responses,God bless u all. |

kanuvivian: I dont think there is need for you to send them a mail, since you were categorically asked if you will use the visa for medicals and you said yes,so you are good to go without doing a mail to them 1 Like |

Hello mommas and papas in the house, need a quick clarification please. Is it the same paediatrician that sees the baby at delivery that one continues to see or it is true that the one that sees the baby at delivery is paid just for that and one needs to take baby to another paediatrician after been discharged from the hospital. If the above is true, is it necessary to take the baby to the other paediatrics? Senior mommas, please help this FTM. I will.also appreciate if someone can give me a highlight of things needed to be done after baby birth...Phema and Co, your experienced advice needed here plssssssssssssss. |

Back here to share my POE stories. Thanks to all those giving out info here as it greatly helped. God bless y'all. Flew Emirates from dubai direct to dallas(based in dubai). I can testify to the fact that this airport is friendly to all. Spent less than 5 mins with one middle aged white Cbp officer. The only qs he asked was ow long I would be staying, why dat long? Any food items? Even after I told him for childbirth, his countenance did not.change . Stamped in 6mths. Went on to bgge and next customs. I had no food items but seems d custom guy was overzealous cos he made me stand there answering same qs for4 like 25mins making fone calls , searching my box n handbag. Was let go took my flt to houston. Already met with Dr F. Next apt in 2wks. Staying in highway 6 acc, Soul care. God bless you all as I thank him for journey mercies. The trip long abeg. 6 Likes |

Hello house! Congrats to all the new mums. Arrived El Paso yesterday, Monday. POE was JFK and I flew Arik. Wen I booked my flight, arik website said 34wks max. Bt I hrd they don't accept more than 28wks. I am 34wks so I got fit to fly showing 27wks. I got to checkin counter and showed my fit to fly. They said they don't want to see it that I shuld go 2 port health and they will examine me and give a fit to fly cert. My hrt started beating o! Wen I got there, d woman asked me hw mny wks I am,i said 27wks. She said that means I will be 36wks. That she will examine me now and find out d truth. So I lay down and she measured and behold she got 27wks. Another woman, came and measured me and got the same thing. They were both shocked for reasons I do not know *eyesrolling* I was shocked myself cos my doc measured me on Wednesday and got 33wks. God at work o! They sha gave me d cert with 27wks on it,paid a fee of 2k and I left. Flight was ok. There were some empty seats on the flight so just went there, lay down and slept wella. Food wasn't so bad. At POE,only two questions were asked: "wat are u here for", "have u been to any African country recently". Finish! No sec inspection. I declared I had food so was sent to agriculture. D guy jst asked if I had yam, vegetables or fruits. Said no and that was all. Told me I can go. I carried enof food...even palmoil, indomie onion chicken bt to God be the glory, non was seen. God is,and has always been awesome. I'm at El Paso now. Just tot to share my experience. 24 Likes 1 Share |

DL55 5/04/2015. WHAT AN EXPERIENCE! I scheduled my flight for Easter Sunday to avoid rush and queue. I got to airport 1.00pm, checked in around 4.30pm so that hubby may leave for Ibadan, a friend was going for vacation as well so had company. Got to boarding gate D44 waiting to board. At 8.30pm, an announcement came that we should step out. we were told that their Saturday flight turned back after 3hours of flying so they hve to fly those passengers first and that they are trying to talk to their partners- BA and KLM if they can accommodate us. We were left unattended to for four solid hours before making hotel arrangement and had to pass through immigration all over again. We couldn't have access to our checked in luggage. Only d hand luggage, for those that didn't have hand luggage, only their handbag followed them till next day. We had. VIP treatment at the hotel and wasn't bored cos I had company. At 4.00pm the bus came to pick us upand we started the checking in process. This time, it took 3hrs, it was very busy. I didn't use the wheelchair I requested cos of my company and also we were about 6 visibly pregnant women and bigger than mine so don't need advert. The plane finally left for atlanta, it was very light cos some people were fixed the previous day so I upgraded myself to comfort sleeping on seats combined without disturbance and after 13 hours flight, I landed safely in atlanta 1 Like |

ATLANTA POE- GRACE ALL THE WAY. We landed safely in atlanta, I was second to last person to leave the plane, didn't want to rush, about 4planes landed at same time so the queue formed orisirisi. Very lonnnng. Spent like 2 hours on queue before it got to my turn. A lady slumped while on d queue. It got to my turn and was in front of a black CBP- CBP- morning Me-morning CBP-you don't have to come with expired passports attached to recent one, removed the most recent and gave others to me. Me-(see yabbing) thanks CBP-what do you do in your country Me- Lecturing CBP- what's your field Me- answered CBP-when last were you here Me-. Told him CBP- how long? Me - 2wks CBP- how long are you staying now Me- 10wks CBP- Why Me- vacation and maternity CBP-(not surprised/bothered) who is paying Me- myself CBP- how much do you have on you Me- slightly less than 9K CBP- shook his head- ( I started praying) have a nice stay. Took my print and stamped me in. I opened my passport to check, saw- 6mths, Thank God and left. I declared more than enough things but was not stopped for agric, no secondary inspection but when I got home I saw a card in my bag that showed that TSA has checked my bag before coming cos I used TSA padlock. Though nothing was removed and I have all sort. Fish like someone coming to sell it, gaari, beans, stock fish, Egunsi, pap of 2 paint bowls, onions, beans- powdered, iru, maggi etc. Pls forgive my tenses. Using fone to type and seeing double. Ran to meet my connecting flight and headed to Houston. Lesson 1. Endeavour to have extra clothing and personal need in your hand luggage in case your flight will have hitch. Some ppl had wore same clothes next day and with a 13hrs flight that makes 3days. I couldn't take my drugs for 2days as well. Lesson2.if you aren't using wheelchair, be used to standing, I am a lecturer but still felt the heat though I coped, the lady that fainted was attended to by medical practitioners- who knows whether she will pay. Lesson 3. As advised only travel with most recent passport( I remembered someone said her old pP was stamped. Lesson 4.Blessings can come in disguise. For every change of plan, there is a reason. Pray and prepare. Thank you all for all your contributions. I learnt all here. 20 Likes |

@ shimk HERE YOU GO!! All the best! As for travelling with a 2 year old , I suggest you carry a bag ( preferably your child's own hand luggage, a kids bag-pack will do). Fill it up with what he/she likes at the moment, i.e favourite activities,ipad/tablet( charger + cable o!!), colouring books with crayons(NOT FELT TIP MARKERS!!!), toys etc. what i do is give a new toy( tiny plastic figurine or anything small) every 2 or so hrs , to keep them surprised. Also, favorite snack, not food, snack!!! cookies, juice-box or whatever. Diapers for the entire trip, calculate what is used in a 48 hr period. some kids tend to get a bit constipated during travel becos of the chnge in diet, cabin pressure, don"t ask me how i know but it happens. kids Panadol/ibruprofen syrup, thermometer( i have used it in flight it saved me a lot of headache worrying over sudden temp). Change of clothes. not jeans o!! They hard to take off on a small child in a cramped airplane toilet. loose fitting comfortable clothes with a vest underneath for warmth. at least 3 changes will do, these kids can be quite messy. If you are travelling alone with your toddler, give yourself adequate rest 48hrs before you travel, you will need your energy my dear!!!! transit is a b****, work around your toddlers sleep schedule. i have travelled and still travel with twin toddlers, ALONE!!! it aint beans!!!!! Finally, plan, plan, plan!!!! God is your strenght!!! shimk: 2 Likes 1 Share |
