The OPC faction should shut up!
The Oba of Lagos stool was denigrated the moment it became an exclusive preserve of Tinubu.
When a drug addict is responsible for appointing Obas, this is what you get.
You igbos should stop insulting the oba b4 we Yoruba will back him up with fight. You guys have to give him respect. And if u don't knw our culture , u have to learn it.

Tell me the name of the person that killed Adolph hitler. I don't know how you value thrones but it is very very disrespectful. You can't try that in places like kano or katsina.

That's why you're backward in kano and katsina.

I think this matter should be given a rest already; more than enough has been said about it. Igbos have condemned the statement likewise well-meaning Yorubas. What I cannot understand is why more than 60% of the topics in the politics section is Oba this, Oba that!

The MODs should do their job and mass-delete all these threads about Oba this and that please. undecided undecided undecided

I am a Lagos indigene... while i did not support the speech of the Oba in whatever context he made it..... the subsequent vituperations and total lack of tact deployed by some people to the extent of denigrating the royal stool is really annoying...No where else and i mean no where else can that be tolerated .

Shut up bleating sheep!! No where else (except in chaotic and dysfunctional societies like Nigeria) would a royal figure open his mouth and spit out such amount of vitriol against a particular tribe.

A monarchy should be a respected entity which maintains neutrality & stays above political squabbles. That Oba is nothing but a loud mouthed thug who deserves no respect from any sane person.

He & his OPC foot soldiers should know better than to threaten any tribe, threats get you no where.

Insults are inadequate; the Oba deserves a hot, diagonal, slap across his face.

We can only control our words; we can't really control the reactions of people towards our careless words.

The consequences that often accompany our careless words normally outweigh whatever momentary pleasure we may derived when we were spewing them.

The Oba fetched ant-infested firewood; the lizards have come knocking!

Awon omo ale Yoruba lo fe fa arifin si Oriade.

imagine some manner-less eediot asking the oba to apologize...

its not done anywhere in the history of the obas in yoruba land.. "oba ba lori oun gbogbo"..

our fellow igbo brothers should also desist from this stale statement that "Lagos is no man's land".. "oko kii je ti baba tomo ko ma ni aala" even a farmland has boundary.. yoruba hospitality should not be taken for granted.. they should stop inciting hatred.. as meekness as a yoruba man can be, they can also be brutal whenever they chose to, especially when pushed to the wall..

it has started already, go to some areas in agege and alimosho, most landlord would not want to give his house as rent to an igbo man, all because of this same attitude.. that is not to say there are no respectable men among them, but "eru kan nii mu ni bu igba eru"..

we should stop inciting hate among tribes and ethnic group, and we should also learn to respect one another..

In as much as i condemn the Oba's statement, for the office of the palace to come out and say he was misinterpreted should settle it all..

I didnt say any body got lands free in Lagos... but i believe that even in hell somethings are sacred.... i will never insult the Obi of Onitsha or the Sultan of Sokoto no matter their utterance.... not because of their person but because of the people they represent, the tradition they identify with and the heritage they uphold.

Like someone said above me here, An adult decided to get naked in front of kids and expect that his big manhood will attract no attention. And feel free to insult anybody you feel like, it's a free world and that is the tenets of democracy called FREEDOM OF SPEECH

OPC is a toothless piranha.. The Oba has played the wrong political card and showed his hand in the process..
As much as i respect traditional rulers, I respect him but the truth has to be said.. He has forever lost face and value for his words

In all of these, I blame no taut insulting Igbos because my people caused it. If they had learnt from Biafra war, no Igbo person would have allow his/her kobo invested anywhere in Nigeria outside east because the idiots will never appreciate your efforts in upgrading their region. It is better to invest outside this wrong entity called Nigeria than waste it investing outside Eastern Nigeria. If Igbos had poured the amount they wasted outside eastern part of Nigeria in the east, it would have become world class cities. It serves them right. More of that should be meted out to them until they learn to know that an enemy is always an enemy.

investment is a business decision, your business men invested in yorubaland because it is suitable to grow businesses not cos we need you here..... If you're so keen on developing your region, unanimously agree to go back to the east to build it cos frankly you won't be missed here.... if we were your enemies as you fool.isly believe trust me you would not thrive in the west as your shops will be burnt regularly as it was done in the North..... If yorubas were like igbo we would have killed ourselves till there's none left in this country....

He was saying an adage, don't take it personal....

I am glad OPC is speaking. .... Gani has been compromised and his sect of OPC is only in lagos and are few, the Ogun and Oyo OPC I know are against him......

For people saying OPC is mere noise filled with illiterates should not push their luck cos OPC is headed by some elites who are traditional (Fasheun is a doctor)....

Respect your hosts culture cos even the compromised Gani Adams will fight those who don't.

Me too,i am also saying an adage

Did this gesture come in form of free business loans, free rentals or advice? I'm truly flummoxed! Please explain this purported kindness better! Are Igbos in Lagos living there tax free? I'm sure there is something we are missing! Please explain better!

ChinemeOkpan:

The Oba must NEVER be disrespected. EVER

Nowhere in Nigeria -east of the Niger- is the Yoruba or any other tribe accorded the kind of gesture the Igbos have been enjoying in Lagos in the last 12 or so years since these bonafide Igbo men entered into the Lagos political scene.

I love all these Igbo (unfortunately the stakeless ones, those with no tangible stake or investment in Lagos) insults.

I hope this time Yorubas will react.

Igbos are critical ingrates and if their presence in the SW is not checked aggressively and ruthlessly, they will not keep their gubs shut.

The 99 year lease term on the lands bought by the Igbos should reduced to 30 by passing a bill in the state house of assembly.

These visitors must be despatched to their homeland regardless of the economic consequences.

This is going beyond tolerable.
