The suggestion that an APC led FG will not do the right thing simply because a state is governed by an opposition party reveals a worrying mindset that seems not to have grasped the concept of Unity, Equity and Justice and this begs the question: what is and where is the ‘Change’? APC can only claim fidelity to its ‘Change’ mantra if it jettisons any politics of state exclusion on the basis of opposition politics, if that had ever existed before. This is what will set the nation ablaze. |

The state that set template for good governance in Nigeria and orchestrated the change we now have in national level. I doubt if any true Lagosian is not proud of the Lagos we have today than the Lagos prior to 1999. I also doubt if there is any state in Nigeria that has achieved so much transformation like Lagos in the last 16 years despite the frustrations received from the central power. It is not reasonable and objective to payback a team of intellectuals and passionate leaders that have been managing the affairs of the state to super status that it is today by rejecting them for frivolous and sentimental reasons at a time that their efforts is about to be consolidated with the new power at the centre for better Lagos. My question to the people that are saying they want change in Lagos state is that; is it logical to change a winning team? What else do you want the government of Lagos state to do that they haven’t touched? Does the hatred for a man in a team, means we should throw away the good works the team have been doing? For those that have been living in Lagos prior to 1999; remember the way Oshodi was; remember how dirty the whole Lagos was (especially Mushin, Lagos Island, Ketu, Somolu etc) with dumping of refuse anywhere; don’t forget in a hurry how it was difficult to drive through all the Lagos roads which was full of pot-holes; was there any functional road/street lights then?; did we have traffic lights on Lagos roads then; remember those lives that were lost due to lack of pedestrian bridges on our highways; have you forgotten how arm-robbers attacked streets on a daily basis; do you remember how the whole Lagos (especially Victoria Island) used to be flooded when it rains; remember bar-beach nearly took over Victoria Island; was there anything like recreational park talk less of green environment?; do you remember how Idumota market look like then; don’t forget the huge smoke the “molue” spread on our environment on a daily basis then; remember how dilapidated the Lagos schools were; have you forgotten the street trading everywhere in Lagos; the signposts erected at any available space on the street including banners tying across every road; don’t forget how every walls and bridges were littered with film posters then; remember how heavy the traffic was without any control; I can go on and on…….. If you are a true Lagosian, you will appreciate what the team that are managing the affairs of Lagos have done to this great state. Therefore, don’t allow the “jonny-just-come” those that came to Lagos when things are now better to be singing change…change…..change without good justification but hatred for the man that developed the template for the good things we have in Lagos today. The man that refused to dine and wine with central power for Nigerian to have good dividends of democracy, the man that fought an elder statesman/President at a time to stand-still, delivered Oyo state from ancient status, activated Ogun state for performance, liberalized Osun state to a new bride, shake-off the chain that held Edo state for many years, and powered the election of President-Elect after three attempts of no victory. This man has done Lagos state and this nation so much good than his shortcomings, we should not allow Lagos to be derailed because of the hatred for him by the ignorant. 4 Likes |

At least Tinubu gave us Fashola who performed wonderfully well in Lagos. So why can't we trust another gem in Ambode? Can we put the future of Lagos State in d hands of Ifeanyi Uba, Bode George and Seyi Ogunlewe disguising as Agbaje and not regret it in a not too distant future? 7 Likes |

Between 1999 and 2015, Lagos state has really experienced substantial development, and no one can deny that. The truth is if just five states in Nigeria have had a Visionary leader like Tinubu and a great Executioner like Fashola since the last sixteen years, this country would definitely have been better than this. I can trust Ambode because he has a reliable identity, he is coming on a platform that has been tested and trusted and also he will want to make sure he surpasses the achievements of Fashola which will definitely make Lagos better. I can't just risk it with JK. 8 Likes |

The arguments being made PRESENTLY that Lagos should align with the centre is very clearly a self-serving one which was never made in the 16 years while PDP was at the centre. The argument also that Lagos is being owed debts that may not be paid except APC runs both the FG and LASG is also faulty: debts are an obligation to be repaid not because of relationship but as a matter of justice and fairness which the APC government never tires of letting us hear it will be at the centre. So my people use your brain and vote wisely This is for our future and the younger youths out there. VOTE AMBODE FOR PROGRESS AND CONTINUITY 5 Likes |

The actions of the winner in victory are as important as those of the loser which is why as the plaudits come in for General Muhammadu Buhari, they are also rolling in for. I still wonder how lagosians have become perpetually blind and numb as Tinubu ran the show in Lagos. How could they have allowed one man turn Lagos to his personal property without voting him out? Are Lagosians this dumb? Can't they see the evil Tinubu has brought upon them? This is inexplicable. 3 Likes |

PDP are a bunch of liars and that's why JK can say he is not one of them but he is running on their platform. Such talk invalidates the man's so called intentions for Lagos. Let us all abandon talk of voting in a party who are in so much disarray to the extent of their Governorship candidate denying support by PDP's so-called godfathers like Bode George and the likes. Lagos doesn't need it's development to be halted by endless corruption and controversy. Vote Akinwunmi Ambode for continuity of the great works of Babatunde Fashola in a bid to lead our dear state on its journey to a being well and truly a mega city. EKO O NI BAJE. 3 Likes |
