Yeah. The North, and other parts of Nigeria, are blessed with abundant mineral resources. The South-west is has some gold deposits around Idanre.

I also recall about 4-5 years ago that the US "accidentally discovered" mineral deposits in Afghanistan worth TRILLIONS of $$. So the invasion of that country which was officially due to the Bin Laden's role in 911, was merely as smokescreen.

I stated it in earlier post. The video talked about the killings of the presidents.
Of course america policy is stomach infrastructure policy but they will gain more in a working nigeria. Nigeria would be bigger market place and there would be a bigger part of the population that would be middle class people. Even huge tourism to their countries.
