agaugust:"SANDF has a small 50,000 man army with only one type of camo , so one sweater or jacket is easy. Try raise a large 130,000 man army like Nigeria and 3 different camos plus different sweaters then multiply the money cost of production." We actually have 80000 permanent troops and 15000 in reserve, we thus supply 95000 troops with a full kit! And if we raise our army to 130000 we would just raise our defence budged and still issue them with a full kit! As for the highlighted phase, so your saying because they are different camo patterns they are going to cost more? Does buying 2 Red Ferrari's cost less than buying 1 yellow one and 1 red one? |

lezz: Mbeki and Rouhani The intelligence profile also reveals that Iran approached South Africa's leadership in search of a workaround for international sanctions imposed by Western powers. It cites "a covert source" who claims that on two occasions, then-President Thabo Mbeki had met with senior Iranian officials requesting help with their nuclear programme. http://www.aljazeera.com/news/2015/02/spy-cables-south-africa-spies-iran-operations-guardian-ssa-tehran-undercover-carpet--150219184023503.html 1 Like |

lezz: Internet Jesus attend to the issues name calling will not save you this time; lezz: @Lezz Your attempt at replying my post reeks of desperation. Let me quickly add that this scope of international politics is beyond your league. You aren't sound enough so it takes you up to a week to try to level with me by employing half-baked facts backed by little international awarness. As someone who knows a lot, I guess this is a promise that you wish to solemnly give us facts and nothing but facts so help you God!! During the ivory coast presidential issues, ecowas had already asked gbabo to step down and blacklisted his government from ecowas. Military intervention was being discussed on the table. ECOWAS actually begged UN security council to sanction Ivory coast, I have that on good authority, any reasonable country will see it as a sign of weakness on a regional power broker, what I don't know is the fallacy in bold, can you prove to this honorable house that ECOWAS blacklisted Ivory coast in 2011? Let me remind you that you claim to know too much as such, to get the evidence won't be a problem, please do not tactically maneuver out of this for any reason whatsoever, it is either you are proving or you are shutting up completely. I will neither read nor respond to any other gibberish that doesn't have the proof i asked for. Nigeria wasn't sleeping over the Libyan crisis. I weep for your pathetic sense. You rush to play Mr. Know it all, to teach us what you yourself have not finished understanding. Even a Pharisee has got a better tact than you. Nigeria said they are not interested in a United states of Africa likewise Most successful economies in Africa at the time, SA, Morocco, Egypt Kenya etc, Nigeria never posed a threat to his plan in any visible way, why did Ghadaffi not propose the break up of Egypt, SA, Kenya, morocco and other uninterested African nations? The USA equally made same prediction, is Ghaddafi the president of the US? instead of fixing culpability where it belongs, you are deluding yourself, have you bothered to find out why two nations with superior intelligence gathering capabilities gave Nigeria a tough verdict? Nigeria wasn't the only country that rejected Ghaddafi's plan there were other countries, so why was Nigeria the only bulls eye? based on the above facts, Ghadafi's unfortunate prediction had nothing to do with his failed plan, only a beer parlor political analyst will make such naive connection. To be fair if you believe that Ghaddafi proposed the break up of Nigeria because we refused United states of Africa, table your proof here, you saw how I proved mine, prove yours that same way, keep it concise and brief, any strenuous analogies and unverifiable claims will NOT be read. I never said Nigeria was meditating in the Libyan crisis. I emphasized that Nigeria officially recognised the tnc, while south Africa was barking ay NATO. Stick to facts not cheap blackmail. Naa, it was an oversight not a blackmail, you are no where near people I may be tempted to blackmail. Nigeria had been a power broker in Africa since her independence. Intact it was only in GEJ regime we started looking inwards. That you exported your professionals because the institutions in your country has collapsed, does it mean you are a power broker? Majority of our doctors who left for Saudi Arabia in the 80's went to make money because they were earning less in Nigeria nothing more, can you in clear conscience assume that Nigeria is a lord over Saudi Arabia because our doctors took refuge there?? I expect an answer here too. South Africa isn't the brainchild of AU. It was was ghadafi. YOU ARE AN EMBARRASSMENT. Who was the first chairperson of the AU? one single answer of a name and probably date, any other strenuous crap will not be read. Bakassi was settled legally by the international court. Nigeria led by example and didn't use her might to swallow Cameroon. You said Chad is liberating Nigerian towns. Well Chad liberated 3 Nigerian town in their own border while Nigerian liberated 43 town in 2 weeks in an erea the size of Belgium. Nigeria had no intention of handing over Bakassi even after the ICJ verdict, here is my proof; According to obasanjo's book titled "Presidential legacy" published in 2013 and reviewed by Donald duke whose land was taken had this to say; “The French President made it clear to us that it has put on alert its military and showed us the entire position of our military and exactly where we were and our daily movements." Now, you see how i put forward facts to disprove your diplomatic concoction on why we obeyed the ICJ order, we obeyed because a superior fire power who finds it morally right to honor the defence pact she has with cameroon by putting a gun to our head. After this clear act of cowardice and chicken heart, who does Nigeria have a defence pact with at the time? is that how you want to be a "regional power broker"? Power broker that ordinary Cameroon can muscle away anytime? self delusion is not a crime though, enjoy your buffoonery. Any time you are not ready to articulate facts the way i am doing it, I will not read it, the proof above is evident that you don't follow the news, after work, you sit with iya basare to take ogogoro and discuss kitchen politics, now tell me, who is an Embarassment? Also you said Nigeria isn't a threat to Libya, you need to stay away from google and get real education. Libya can't challenge any African country in the north which comprised fellow Arabic countries, so she looked into west Africa and Chad her immediate neighbour came into play, so she attacked and tried to annex Chad. Now Chad is in the lake Chad basin coperstion with Nigeria as well as an ECOWAS country which Nigeria oversees. So how could we not be a threat? From what you explained though you are too lazy or bereft of any fact to support your claim, I can only deduce that Nigeria was a softer target, a walk in the park rightly put, I don't know the date of the Chadian invasion by Libya, never mind that you are too drunk not to present that, however, if I had the information, I would ascertain their military capabilities by credible ranking, that way, we will know who is really a threat to the other, in the absence of that, both of us are merely speculating and I don't engage in such unintelligent theatrics. Let me educate you right now, France is uncomfortable with Nigeria's hegemony in west Africa and is on all cylinders to bring division between the aglofone and francofone countries. But you wouldn't know. Please dont give us half baked education gotten from Oshogbo roofless classrooms, when you say France is uncomfortable with Nigeria's hegemony in Africa, you should be able to prove that with verifiable events. I continue to warn you, this place is not your village meeting where anybody can make any blank statement and feel cool You said Egypt, Algeria and morocco are white/arabic. NO!!! They are Arabic. While they partake in african affairs passively is because of their interest being situated in Africa. Morocco didn't even have the grace of pretence, she's not member of the AU. What are they? Green/Jewish? Morocco used to be a member and the rest remained members so what exactly is your point here? It's not about the skin colour it's way more than that. If you will pause and watch CNN ,you will see that Egypt and co are part of the middle east. The same way Turkey isn't European not just by skin colour but by political, cultural, ideological and world view disposition , then by people and origin. It is so with north Africa, hence the term, sub Saharan Africa. If you know how much I hate this kai-kai statements you make here, I wish I can extend an e slap to that your gorilla face. I presented to you events in my penultimate post where i itemized clearly why AU is an unserious organisation not suitable for serious countries like Egypt housing the best military in Africa, I went a step further to juxtapose their Arab league campaigns and more complex successes they have achieved, and you have this nonsense!! to reply me? Where are the facts that support all these speculations, show me in the news, tell me events, for gods sake i am not your dumb wife neither am I your fat girlfriend, talk to me with facts not conjectures, I hate it You said we are not suppose to get Ebola, blah blah blah. That no screening whatsoever at the airports. Should I remind you late sawyer was a diplomat who came into Nigeria officially? How did Ebola got into mighty USA or even Spain? Now that you have managed to speak of an event/events, I am obliged to respond, what is the likelihood of Nigeria (in west Africa by the way) to get Ebola compared to the USA? who should have a tougher contingency plan? Nigeria or the USA? It is only a goat brain like you will liken a scenario where a symptomatic, diarrhea Ebola patient, walks through your biggest international airport unchecked from an Ebola epicenter a few miles from home, with a controlled medevac of a volunteer health worker. That comparism can only occur in a failed grey matter like yours, if you really think like this, please DO NOT PROCREATE, we dont need a generation of pure r@trads, we are ok! having you alone. Edited** Did you notice that you provided no evidence to support everything you wrote, how do you expect me to take you seriously? It took me a year to reply a dullard, you should be grateful you managed to get my attention. regional power broker |

jln115:SA only has one camourflage, that's shows how poor u guys are ? even if u guys don't av desert terrain are u not thinking ahead of d future where by u deploy men to such terrain ! Most standard army I know av @ least two defferent type of camourflage, that leaves us with the question that u can't feed more than 20-40,000 men(so pathetic) even with the same camo, and stop claiming u av 80,000 standing/active men ! |

jln115: Dude stop spewing garbage, South Africa has NEVER put SANDF into war with 3,000 troops so stop comparing your army to the level of battle hardened and big war tested armies like America and Nigeria. See photo below American, British, and Australian troops in battle with jackets of colours different from their combat camo uniform, top flak jacket of different colour from their pants/trousers, and also body armour colours different from camo uniform colour, then troops with different uniforms in same teams. So stop saying rubbish about Nigerian army.....when South Africa goes to big wars like Nigeria, come back and argue.... . 1 Like

Point; you still use the same camo for the desert and forest terrain, its pathetic a standard army uses @ least two defferent types of camo, its a standard practice! jln115: SANDF has a 50,000 man army, regular troops, 95% of whom have ZERO war experience. Your reserve force is crap...plastic toy soldiers ! No full kit for SANDF, your army has NEVER deployed more than 3,000 troops into real war zone, and your training ops for 3,000 men showed poor kit, including many troops with missing gloves, missing helmets, missing knee pads, missing body armour....ya gat NO full kits in South African army ! FACT ! .

Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by Nobody: 2:07am On Apr 09, 2015 |
agaugust:This was a exercise not a deploy meant!!so way wear body armour! And knee pads are not standard kit, some soldiers find them uncomfortable, go check out a few pics from the us deployment in Afghanistan, some wear knee pads others don't,same thing with gloves. And yes we have 80000 permanent troops and 15000 in reserve. |

bidexiii:The Soldier2000 uniform was design to work in all of Sub Saharan terrain including dessert terrain,as you can see. And we have 80000 permanent troops not 40000. "South Africa has many types of terrain, ranging from the lush grean forests of the Natal midlands to the arid, semi desert areas of the Northern Cape. The soldier 2000 camouflage pattern, developed by the CSIR is design to be a universal pattern, effective in all types of terrain,in different seasons, both day and by night" http://www.kamouflage.net/camouflage/00134.php |

agaugust:"body armour colours different from camo uniform colour" When did i ever say they have to match their uniform?(Although personally it looks more proffesional) When i said miss-match i meant soldiers in the same unit wearing different colours of body armour Pic1: All are wearing the same body armour and uniform, the only difference is some have webbing on and others dont! Pic2: They look piss poor to be honest, besides that it looks like a training exercise and not a combat zone. Pic3: Dont know what you are trying to prove here?I never had a problem with different units using different camo, it was the Fact that Nigeria has Soldiers in the same unit with different webbing helmets body armour ect, and the fact that you have 10 different camo patterns. Pic4: I see nothing wrong here, same webbing, body armour and uniform! |
