You don't sound educated I thought Yorubas are always learned. Can't you just go online then check the allocations of each state since 1999

Lagos should get no less than 500bn as we are carrying the dead weight of other states who refuse to do anything except chop money, while their people run to Lagos en mass looking for opportunity. More money must be allocated to Lagos from the other states till they get themselves right. No more slave work for Lagos. Plus we deserve 10-20% of whatever our ports bring in. That should be our own derivation

Lagos/Yoruba pipo systematically made sure that we have only one port in Nigeria residing in Lagos. its simple, dey will bear s brunt till further jotice

It huts real bad when we find out that this entire sum is only less than 50 percent of money available. The federal government handles over 50 percent.

*sobs
Are u among those that kick against a total reform of the country through the confab reports? The recommedation is to make the centre less attractive and give more power to the states. Why are u complaining? u guys voted to maintain the statue quo so let live with it for now. Our leaders dont want to work they just want to be drinking and eating crude oil. For example, If a govenor knows that his salary depend on his state revenue why can't he be serious and work hard. Look at how much those states receive some countries budget and watch how the masses are suffering under billions. We need to restructure not change.

Federal govt handles much bigger responsibilities and i think should get a bigger share. They pay customs, immigrations, police, military and equip them as well. Our states have the responsibility of providing basic amenities such as healthcare and good education.

Nairaland marketing strategy. The title was what made me open the thread as well. Seun needs to caution his supermoderators to stop sensationalising titles on the frontpage. Nairaland now looks like a tabloid or softsell magazine.

**grins** With all the money yoruba states enjoy, they still the have lowest standard of living down in the south. No region in the south have more beggars than Oyo alone. Yet it is in the top 10 cup- in-hand collector of oil allocation. What an irony, what a shame. SMH.

What has Delta State done with all that money? Why is port Harcourt the only urban area in the whole of Rivers State? After years of collecting this money what do they have to show? Why is Bayelsa still underdeveloped?

What is the federal government doing with so much money? Is it meant to be used to pay the law makers and executive?

So many unanswered or unanswerable questions. Which way Nigeria?

Those figures are true. You can also check the one for previous years. I feel bad we all hold federal government responsible while the real thieves who are the governors are neglected. Each state get their allocation every year now for a state like Delta you multiply that by 8 years then you find out half of that money is likely to be missing.
