Joke of the century! One thing about Igbo is that we don't get stampeeded
Chinazaekperem5:

Thank u.

Ladipo is a residential area and one of Ambode's electoral promises is to ensure that areas where commercial activities are negatively affecting local residents are corrected by formulating the necessary policies.

Proper shopping malls, centers and areas will be constructed and eligible people can rent spaces from the Lagos State government. This is in line with the Lagos Mega City framework.

Alaba, Idumota will also be affected.

Interesting times ahead.

Please state where I said Igbos would be 'stampeeded' .

This is one Nigeria but every state has the right to formulate policies that will benefit all inhabitants. Lagos is ready to take its place as the 4th Largest economy in Africa by demolishing eyesores and erecting new facilities.

As for 'stampeding', some Igbo states sacked non-indigenes to create employment for the locals, this is crass discrimination.

Lagos is changing and I will advise you to embrace it.

You are joking man,you have forgotten that Ambode said that the economy of lagos 90% is informal sector,so do you think that he will destroy the economy cos Igbos dominate the informal sector? Let's be reasonable pls

Please can you provide a link where Ambode made such a pronouncement?

As I said earlier, Lagos is the 4th largest economy in Africa with a growing service sector, there are efforts to ensure that the state continues to align itself with global competitive parameters of growth. The commercialization of fake spare parts and hawking of products on the streets of Lagos do not fall into those categories of growth.

Brace up for Change my brother.

Usual chestbeating no action. Lagos has to move forward, any group of people that stands in the way of development will be swept aside. Probably into the lagoon if need be grin

Ladipo is a residential area as planned, computer village will be moved to kontagora, Alaba completely remodelled to a world class market devoid of pirates, drug pushers and substandard products. The Era of lawlessness and impunity is over now!

You can only be jealous or envious of something you dont have. Lagos as the cornerstone of the SW economy is vibrant, robust and forward looking.

The envious ones are those who lack such a strategic state in their region. It is the envy of a particular section of Nigeria.

And customers will always go to buy from them even if their shops is in the moon...its a cycle man..we are all gonna be affected regardless

Heck your mechanic will definitely charge you more for transportation fee when he goes to buy spare parts for your car...bankers will definitely relocate to the new sites..everybody is gonna be affected regardless of tribe.
. Your head dey there jaree! The foolish young commentators don't always think before posting. Trouble is not good for anyone. All these things are interconnected and go in cycles. Once you take a single step to make life difficult for the other, the ripple effect would hit back at all and the ecosystem is balanced out... just pass the bulk and the extra cost of doing businesses to the masses. Ultimately, everything balances out.

notin do ibos. the day ibos leave lagos, that day lagos will suffer severe economic and social shock. without ibos in lagos. what is the point in having 4780 bank branches. something port, kano and abuja combined cant boast of. what the point in having so many gas stations, schools, churches, buses on the road, eateries, shopping centers, insurance houses, buildings, fuel depots. imagine the no of jobs that will be lost, the decay and despair in lagos if ibos leave. christmas is a classic example of what happens when just 20% of ibos leave, imagine 100%.

You guy make me laugh when you talk about development, your people dominate at mushin, bariga, onipanu, agege iyana ipaja etc can you compare all these places to ago, isolo, ajao estate, okeafa, satellite town, festac extension, ojo etc development is synonimous to Igbo

So why are your people running helter skelter everywhere abandoning their ancestral land in their millions. You would think there is a natural disaster or famine going on there.

Guys, you can be impossible.

The Op posted a 3-liner and a few pix of what has become a rgular occurrence in Ladipo over the last couple of months from 2014, without any corroboration and you are hauling awful words at each other.

Ps: I left Ladipo a few minutes after 4.00pm and there was no obvious tension there at the time So I wonder when this "war" kicked off.
