Galads: Wow. I'm so glad to read this here. In as much as I'm into the business, it took me a whole year of research. You are so right. A lot of people got their fingers burnt. So many times I advise people who plan traveling to the onion market to hold on due to the bad sales in the southern market but they wont listen. They always think there is something to hide. I cant imagine buying onions from aleiro at the rate of 6000 plus logistics anyway and when it gets to lagos, its being sold for 4000, 5000. Also 1000 plus on each bag will be deducted from the money. So what is left of the money? No start up capital, No Profit, Massive loss. These and many more are the things we discuss at our interactive session. I am not a guru. I still have my top top Ogas I look up to. Thanks once again for your contribution. God bless you sir. 1 Like |

Good day all. I will like to bring to the notice of everyone that onions is getting scarce (unavailable) at the farms and major markets in the northern nigeria. The weather right now in the north is so bad (sandy and dusty weather), the weather is preparing for the rainy season. Due to the nature of the soil texture in the north, the farmers crop is usually being affected by the rain i.e, the rain do wash away their crops. The farmers suffer erosion a lot during the rainy season. The weather in the northern part of Nigeria is usually times two (x2) of what we experience here in the south. Currently, the availability of onions isn't much which also led to the increase in price in the farm and major onion markets. I will implore all those who are interested or intending to stock their onions to start doing so now before it totally goes scarce which will lead to the massive increase in price from the farm and major markets. Thank you and God Bless. Ibijoke O.M |
