So hw wud u decribe basque, catalan?

Spanish is a part of the Ibero-Romance group
of languages, which evolved from several
dialects of common Latin in Iberia after the
collapse of the Western Roman Empire in the
5th century. It was first documented in
central-northern Iberia in the 9th century and
gradually spread with the expansion of the
Kingdom of Castile into central and southern
Iberia.

Italian ( italiano or lingua italiana) is a
Romance language

en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Italian_language

Portuguese (português or, in full, língua
portuguesa)[nb 1] is a Romance language

en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Portuguese_language

Catalan (/ˈkætəlæn/;[4] autonym: català [kətə
ˈɫa] or [kataˈɫa]) is a Romance language named
for its origins in Catalonia, in what is
northeastern Spain and adjoining parts of
France. It is the national and only official
language of Andorra,[5] and a co-official
language of the Spanish autonomous
communities of Catalonia, the Balearic Islands,
and the Valencian Community (where the
language is known as Valencian, and there
exist regional standards). It also has semi-
official status in the city of Alghero on the
Italian island of Sardinia. It is also spoken with
no official recognition in parts of the Spanish
autonomous communities of Aragon (La Franja) and Murcia (Carche), and in the historic French region of Roussillon/Northern Catalonia, roughly equivalent to the department of Pyrénées-Orientales.

en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Catalan_language

Did you notice Romance in the language of the above 4 territories?

Basque is different but very small and is native to both Spain and France. Not unusual...just as we have Izons native to Ondo.

I have more than a good knowledge. Am partly ekiti kete. Omuo ekiti to be precise. There is no difference. A yoruba person will understand itshekiri wiv much concentration because ede itshekiri yen lo gan (twisted) ... another example of similarities is ekaro in yoruba is erewuro in itshekiri. Ekasan is ereosan. Etc

interesting
Another one one that shows itsekiri is a dialect is this

English - All
---------------
Ondo- Dede
Ekiti - Kete
Owo - Gede
Itsekiri - Dede
Ikale - Dede
Akure- Kete
Ijebu - Dede

Yes you are partially correct. The Egbas can also be found in the Abule Egba, Iyana Ipaja axis of Lagos state
Not partially correct... Most of the lands in present day lagos belongs to the Egbas and not as widely claimed to be Aworis... Our land ended at Carter bridge. Surulere, Ebute meta, Yuba, also belongs to the Egbas , some part of ikeja/Maryland belongs to Egbas too{check a case by Egba Descendants Union against Aworis by FRA Williams }. Also most part of Agbado, Alakuko , mushin belongs to Egbas. All these people still attends Egba traditional Council meeting. You can check western region archives for further information.

I want to ask, among all these dialects which is the most easiest to understand.
Am an Igbo and I know Anambra Igbo is well understood by all igbos while Ebonyi and Abia are the most difficult.

To answer your question I will say Lagos Yoruba which is a modern variant of the Oyo dialect.

That's not entirely true. I'm frm Ikare-Akoko but I can hardly speak the Ikare-Akoko sub dialect not to talk of those of other Akoko towns or that of the other main Yoruba dialects. But of course everyone understands Lagos/Oyo Yoruba since it's the lingua franca.

Hmmmm.... Scholes, we are many and our land is huge. Larger than some whole States.

We cut across 4 States, and don't have a state of our own.

The peaceful land of bountiful produce is neglected by all past Governments.

Well, let's pray things get better.

The Okuns are 20% of Kogi, and are the second largest ethnic group after the Igalas. And that does not include the Oworos.
Has there been an agitation for state creation?

By the time you add the Oworos who, by the way, speak a variant of Okun/Yoruba, and who occupy an expanse of land from Lokoja through Igbo Nla and Agbaja to Obajana (Dangote Cement hosts) you will wonder if we are not the largest ethnic group in Kogi.

This is without adding those Okuns in Kwara, Ondo and Ekiti!

Well, there's been a half-willed agitation over the years, but our leaders need to unite for it to work out.

Just horrible....
It perplexes me, how some regions such as the North West, have 7 states, while others sch as the SE have 5, and we claim to be operating an equally federated democracy.
The Okuns , together with the Igbominas, Kwara Ekiti, abd the rest should be coalesced into a single state and returned to where they rightly belong, the South West.
