AND the sad part is that the permanent voters card has permanently disenfranchised Southern Nigeria.. The North will continue to pull such large numbers in subsequent elections and use southern rascals like Amaechi to get 25% in southern states.. But then we go all die sha.. Maybe na den Nigeria go divide patapata 2 Likes 1 Share |

They mobilised Almajiri's with and without voters card to vote. No wonder their was no incidence of card failure in the North even when the test for card readers there were about 50% successful. But on election day, it was perfect. 4 Likes |

codedguy1: The message is very clear: insult, alienate or abuse northerners; and northerners would retaliate by voting with their hands, feet and even generations unborn. If you continue to play tribal/regional politics then be rest assured that the north can play that game and would would beat you hands down, again and again, because they have the numbers - whether in free and fair elections or otherwise. Therefore it is better for everyone go back and embrace the necessary progressive way i.e. politics of principles and issues rather than the current backwardness based on personalities, tribe or religion or otherwise our so called educated southern brothers, with their PhDs and all should brace themselves for a lifetime under continuous leadership of the certificateless northern Almajiri they so much despise. 3 Likes 2 Shares |

MeAboki: I agree with you. In Nigeria the better rigger gets the booty. When has there not been tribal and religious sentiments in Nigerian politics, just that this time there were many other factors that tilted the victory towards the opposition. The issue is even when the North are not abuse, alienated or insulted the same almajiri's can still be used. The question is can politicians in this country be truely progressive without selfish interest? That's what we would like to see, especially in the incoming govt. If it happens, we all know PDP will be dead and buried. 1 Like |

Rubbish! Jonathan lost because he failed to unify the South and ALLOWED a sense of marginalization to grow in the SW. His strategic mistakes were many chief of which was failing to include the SW positively in his government. There will always be jostling for supremacy between SE and SW in any SS led government such as his.His challenge was to determine what was in his best interest.Rather he allowed a sort of SE triumphalism. How can you talk of a united South when Stella Oduah was firing Yorubas with disdain. That was her own agenda but he did nothing. In the ened the SW swung the other way.If the SW had voted as it did in 2011 there would be no victory for Buhari His other problem was pettiness and a childish tenndency to pick ridiculous fights with OBJ,Amaechi,Sanusi,Oyinlola etc. Finally he lacked confidence in dealing with the North choosing to appease them instead of strengthening his hand in the South. He should have appointed a southern Minister in Abuja and refused to appoint a Northern National security adviser and finally he should have dealt with Kwankwaso long ago. Overall he did not know what to do and because of his lack of exposure was only able to surround himself with his fellow Ijaw. He should have been the one to make a deal with Tinubu but that would have been too intimidating for the "small" men he preferred to have around him He miscalculated badly on how important OBJ was to him this was indeed stupid and I strongly believe that would have been under the influence of his wife.Overall ,I think she was a very bad political influence. He should have declared his intention to run long ago.Particularly he should have declared this to Obasanjo who is much respected in the North. I do not think his loss was inevitable. He was just a very bad and incompetent politician 2 Likes |

codedguy1: North can win without or without rigging - the outcome will always be the same should north embrace tribal/regional politics. The responsibility for change away from this backward mindset in our politics does not rest with the politicians but with us the electorate i.e. you and I who have the power to hire and fire through our votes, as seen during this recent elections. It is therefore up to us to jettison this bad behaviour or condone it and therefore allow politicians continue to divide us in order to dominate us - the saddest part of this situation is that our youths (tomorrow's future leaders) have allowed themselves become useful tools of this mind control and dominance - you only have to take a look at the current level hate and myopism in many of the posts by youths in this forum. |

Mutuwa:Economy is more of game of numbers than politics in Naija.. When politickricians go to share their "kill" or " national cake, numbers don't count! But Almajiri is still faced with the economy of daily human needs. In 2014, Kano, with 10m folks budgeted about N230bn, Lagos with similar population budgeted N500bn while Anambra with 4m folks budgeted about N150bn. So Anambra had N37,500 to spend on each person while Kano had N23,000 to spend on each person. So it means that for every N100 Kano spends on each citizen,Anambra is spending N163 on each citizen. So who is going to be poorer or richer? |
Re: You Can't Insult The North And Stay In Power-knwankwaso by Mutuwa(m): 2:01pm On Apr 23, 2015 |
adconline: In between economy and politics chum..there is what is called "reality" which exist except if you are either ignorant of it (which of course it still does exist) or you may want to argue without a sense of justice. All these things you put down are facts disputed and ofcourse ineffective to some extent,in terms of practicability. The question is what is good about Anambra that is better than kano in contemporary time nigeria? Go and ask for the meaning of the slogan " kano ko da mai kazo an fika" then lets relate on an even ground, then from der u will know who will be poorer and who would be richer. |

Mutuwa:Kano is at par with populatuon and economc potentials, but Lagos is light years ahead, so needless to do any comparison. Let's stick to Anambra. In 2014, 65% of students that sat for WAEC got 5 credits -including English and Math- that's about 34k students- this is a state with 4m folks while Kano with 10m folks, only 18k students got 5 credits including English and Math. It means tha Anamabra is sending more young folks to school than Kano. Mind you Kano spends 3 times more than Anambra. There are 10m kids in Naija not going to school- Kano accounts for a greater % of these kids. Kano sends more kids to Almajiri than it sends them to school! The implication is that these kids are likely to be Boko Haram recruits than someone who finished high school or university.. It's disngenious for educated folks like you to dismiss the economic and social conditions these kids. Aisha Buhari was talking about prostitution in SS but ignored child illiteracy and child marriage in the north. It's time we told ourselves the truth that bigger population doesn't translate to bigger economy! 2 Likes |

adconline: Well again..your analysis have to some extent have atoms of truth which I personally grew up seeing..however like I earlier said which I reiterate ,implementation is never effective as analysed. One thing is certain, the east is industrious much more than the north.reason is that customs and even religion defines extent and scope of what is industrious to a northern person or group of persons. Secondly folks from kano do have extremely wealthy ppl whose kids despise education for some reasons such as lack of motivation from their rich parents, coz even they too made it without a formal education.so in some way parental pressure is seen altering the social conditions of these kids and to some extent the kinda environment this kids are brought up.You may disagree with me if you want too,but in kano dangote is just a kid in terms of wealth. He just became awake much more than the quiet billionaires resident in the state, and will still cower at them at every opportunity. Thanks to the kind of governor they have, the educational life has taken an entire new scope.Dig in-depth into it,u will be marvelled at the new educational transformation going on in the state. Lastly..your line of argument is well and insight. But why I criticize it on effectiveness is that for quiet a while, the govt policies, esp on education is just a ruse honestly. If you personally don't go down and see with ur eyes this things put together, the media and print paper will just put an opinion in your mind. Nice write up. 1 Like |

specco: Were Yorubas used in 2011? Jonathan is a disappointment. You don't bite the fingers that fed you. He treated the South West with Contempt and he was paid back. We are not like the South Easterners that will say ' we know he disappointed us but we would still vote for him'. No, we are politically advanced. You don't embarrass our elders and go unpunished. He was a learner. Now, he has learned in a hard way. |
