Hello house, This is to all those who have gone through the ivf procedure. Please I will like to know how the process was, was it physical painful? Am just curious because I will be doing mine soon just so I prepare my mind and will I need to take days off work during the process? or can I finish up and still head back to work. Hello sofruitful. Most of the procedures in IVF treatment are not painful but for those that may cause slight discomfort, you would be given pain relief. And no you don't need to takes days off work. Your clinic appointments are actually scheduled to fit your convenient time.

how are you? No i havent started the procedure, he moved it forward by 1week to see if AF would come naturally before he has to induce it. DH's count was over 40million, motility was good however the morphology is just slight below the normal. Dr Emeka says it doesnt matter as he has a very high count, also since my tubes are patent he feels IUI would be the best instead of going down the very expensive route (IVF/ICSI).

But factoring in the cost of flight..the hassles if visa..accomodation in israel etc.....it would exceed this 960k naira...pls confirm

Hi Everyone,

Been following this post for 2 years but wanted to complete my cycle before commenting. Dr Ikenna Emeka of Olive medical is without a doubt the most professional doctor I have met at least in Nigeria. When I went through my IVF cycle with him, there were a few key things important to me: expertise of the doctor, medical facilities and personalized care as each patient history and case differs. Olive and Dr Emeka provided all . We were given detailed fact sheets and information at each stage of the process, we were even given a tour of the facility and most of all he was always accessible and professional in his dealings. Not once were we asked for money even though we took the drugs on the first visit but did not start the process till 4 months later as we kept believing it would still happen naturally. All the nurses and staff, completely pleasant. Even though we were not successful, if I have to do another round, I will definitely go back there.

Any Dr that guarantees you success in IVF is a fraud. It is GOD only that gives children, all they can do is use medical science to assist the process but the final outcome is still in God's hands. So for those undecided, investigate these clinics, pray, be sure both of you are committed to the process, prepare your body 3 months ahead (diet, folic acids, lifestyle changes etc), ensure all other medical conditions are ruled out and most of ALL, have FAITH for God says there will be non barren in the land.

Soon we will be here to share my testimony.

Hello sofruitful, you may feel some discomfort around your womb after the trigger injection. After the extraction, you would have some ab pain for about a week especially if you laugh, cough or even lie on your tummy but it is not unbearable at all. Just don't exert more strain on it so you can heal quickly.

@tuns10 egg retrieval is under anesthetic so you would not feel pain during the process. After it, you would feel pain that day and maybe for a week afterwards but nothing unbearable and yes you would be given pain killers. Be brave and prayed up for success.

For the price can't say.but have u tried GarkI Nisa Hospital.the cost is 350k excluding drugs n investigation.relax more mamas will throw some light on it

@UT22, you can use continental specialist fertility clinic, opposite Bobby filling station at mgbouba. It's immediately after the GTB bank. The doctor is quite good and his fee for flushing is unbelievable ( 3k ). Though you may have to beg and persuade the nurses to book you in because he always has a full schedule.

Hello Fruitful mothers, this thread has been kind of quiet lately, hope we haven't given up? God is too faithful to fail.
After 7 years of marriage, 3 ectopics, 1 myomectomy, 2 failed ivf's ,severe OHSS inclusive, I finally have my BFP on my 3rd ivf cycle.
God has finally remembered me, the same God will also remember our waiting mothers. There were times when I almost gave up hope, depression set in and i began to lose my faith but God never gave up on me. Never lose hope mothers, your testimony is on the way.
What i did differently this cycle?
-I started taking supplements from dec last year to day of retrieval, omega3, folic acid, pregnancare, coq10 and vitc
-fasted and prayed at the begining of the year and did a month fasting before i started down regulation.
-cut down on sugar and took more of fruits and vegetables.
Finally sisters, always ask your doctors questions every step of the way. May God bless us all.
