demiiii: Wen I called i was also given that same quotation that was why I was planning to go to El paso. BT destiny had it written that it will be in Maryland. after my 2 nyt the bill I was given was roughly $7,500 for my baby & I and was given 1% discount wen I ask for. I was scared it will be more than that since I had no Dr & other correspondence tied to the hospital. like I said this is just hospital bill & I didn't use epidural or anything cos my baby was out as soon as I got to the labour ward. I can't deceive any1 or misguide. Just wanted to give back to the house. Just that am not so good with the features on forum would ve shown u a copy of the bill to clear ur doubting spirit. 1 Like |

mamakady: Well, I think it would be nice if you could get a correspondence with your doctor. My wife didn't have any figure in writing, just her emails with the doctor. Get the doctor to send you a letter that you will be receiving care from her before and after delivery in her hospital's letter headed paper. A scan copy will do just fine. Had our son in Missouri and I gave her $10,000 cash for everything from hospital bills to baby shopping and flight. Can you beat that? 1 Like |

Hi everyone, I have been a silent follower since december 2014, so now to give back to the followers of this thread. I had my interview on April 29 at 6,30am in lagos, i had been to the embassy in dec but i was denied then for no reason, the black lady in counter one was just a meanie, after speaking all the big big grammar and telling her all the numerous places i had been she still said i wasnt qualified for a visa bla bla, the purpose then was tourism as i wasnt pregnant then, anyways fastforward to the interview... the VO was a white woman in counter 6, beside one asian lady that was denying everyone that came to her, i was just praying in my mind that i wont land in front the asian woman, thankfully i didnt, VO: let me have your passport and confirmation page please ( me that i had planned to smile and say a warm good morning, the woman no even look my face, she jut dey bone) I handed them over VO: How Old are you ( me I suprise small..) I sha told her VO: when did you get married? month and day- (I told her) VO: where are you going in the USA ME: Cumning, Georgia VO: What is the purpose of the trip ( she still wasnt looking at me) ME: To have my baby VO: How far long are you? ( I told her) VO: Why do you want to have your baby in the US ( By this time she looked my face finally, giving me straight face) ME: I want access to safer and better healthcare, its my 1st baby, i dont want dramatic Issues VO: what does you husband do ( I told her) VO: What do you do , how much do you earn ( I told her) VO: DO you have doctors corresponsence, the break down of the cost ME: Yes i do, I sharply handed her the excel summary budget, hospital costs ( Northside Hospital) , doctors costs etc VO: she looks at the budget briefly, tosses it aside and starts to look at the hospital correspondence itself for a long time VO: where did you get this costs on the budget sheet? ME: I summarised it from all the correspondencies from the hospital , doctor etc, she finally picked up the sheet and scrutinized it seriously VO: what of accommodation, tickets and feeding? ME: accommodation is incuded in the sheet VO: do you have family and friends in the US ME: i have friends , no family VO: let me see your statements ( I give her mine and my husband's) , she checks something pinned on the noticeboard beside her VO: do you have additional statements ( I give her) VO: this your doctors letter doesn't look original ( she was insinuating it wasn't emailed to me and maybe i just jingboed it) ME: the obgyn coordinator emailed it to me directly and she has booked my appointment already in the doctors calendar and it all be verified from her etc VO: you know you are not entitled to medicaid bla bla, and you must keep your receipts, we wont issue you another visa unless you can prove you paid your bills ME: I understand 100% VO : your visa is approved I thank GOD, nairalanders, say the truth, stick to the truth , be confident ( i know its hard) and if you must tell a harmless white lie which i don not reccomend stick to the lie, your story must jive and be consistent abeg i dey find accomodation for three months in cuming, alpharetta area of georgia, all the agents are saying minimum of 6 months lease term, any atlanta mamas in the house abeg help me all the best 11 Likes |

mamakady: Hi, If u read this thread very well, u'll discover u really need a doctor's correspondence. Contact a doctor, get him to send u a mail of what the cost will be. Print the mail, print the cost estimate for Doctor and hospital, if u ve it. Get a budget sheet prepared and be sure ur account covers the bills. This will help support ur claim of wanting to give birth in the US. Shows u know what u're doing not just dreaming it. All the best! |

Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 2 by zeezahbee(f): 12:39pm On May 01, 2015 |
SAkale:There's no way u can plead with the VO to allow him to do the interview because he won't be allow to even enter the embassy at all. They will ask for his appointment confirmation before he even set his eyes on th VO. Keep looking out for a closer date. 1 Like |

mabels: I understand why Tvegas is asking all these questions. Did my interview in Lagos last year and at biometrics ,my passport was taken from me and distributed with others amongst the ECO's. It is when my number is called or flashed by the system , I went to the appropriate counter and was interviewed and the Eco brought out my passport. Maybe things have changed. Congrats |

My dear, I don't know your story and I am in no position to judge you but I believe there are things you aren't sharing yet. It's either you aren't sharing the real reason you want to go to the US or you have just made up your mind to use your friend and you need some people to help strengthen their thought. If the former is the case, them you have to really come clean so that we can all give you the best possible advice (glad you know nobody knows you here) However, if the latter is the case, them you don't need us. My visa was not gotten on the basis of pregnancy. I got my visa when I was 4 months gone. I knew I wanted to have a baby by I also wanted to attend a training that month. It was barely a month to my wedding. The visa officer asked if I was married and I said " about to be married" then he asked if I have a child, immediately I told him we were expecting our first child with a hush sign. He smiled and asked if my fiance knew.... I said yes. He asked how far gone, I told him and that's all. When he asked if I would be going to the US for any medical treatment, I said I wasn't sure. I just want to go for this training and return for my wedding(now that's an obvious tie). I finally did not make it for the training but few weeks before I left the country, I sent a mail to notify them of my change of travel Intent. Today I am in the US. Not saying that you should tell lies. Sometimes, you just need to be honest to yourself, be confident (I don't see that part in you that's why I think you are keeping something away from us) find a way to get on the sentimental side of the vo and that's all. That was not my first us visa interview, I had never travelled outside Nigeria before but I had my tenses and pronunciations right. So much that the vo asked me how come I speak so well if I haven't travelled before. Bottom line is... Be confident, truthful to yourself. Sometimes it's the lies we tell that make us jittery before the vo As for the man who was sent back..... I mean no offence but if you decide to go through an renowned unfriendly poe with that type of grammatical skill an lack of confidence, me sef I go do like say o no. Know you if I dey there. No offence meant buy we all need to get our acts together to face theae guys. I don talk plenty. Make I go chop. cutesilva1992: 5 Likes |

Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 2 by chidaroy(f): 4:15pm On May 01, 2015 |
My dear, there is really no need to lash out on people. When you seek knowledge, there's alot you have to take to acquire it. Even in school, your teacher can spank you even when you know he/she isn't right. Life and people will serve you different dishes from the menu. The decision on what to consume is yours to make. Sometimes, It's the hard spanks that set us on the right track. Just pick the answers you want and let the rest go. While I understand that some people might respond out of spite, you should also know that it's not everyday that a married man offers to help his pregnant friend with sponsorship proof. Many people here are married and they will react the same way this man's wife will react If she finds out. So, the right thing to do if you want to use your friend is to get his wife's consent(if you are sure of yoirself). Your business is enough tie for you if you can prove that you have made consistently reasonable income in the past two years. (i.e option B) But please for the sake of Peace, keep your cool and just learn as much as you can from here. Once you have the knowledge, nobody go fit do Shakira for you again. That's my two cents o!
