Same way if Abuja/Anambra/ Cross River/Abia/ Akwa Ibom etc becomes the commercial hub of Nigeria, people will troop there en masse to work.

It's not about Lagos. That's where some people get it wrong. Lagos due to its ports and having been Nigeria's capital enjoys certain privileges. If Anambra or Enugu should overtake Lagos tomorrow, it's the same people that say 'Leave our land' that'll watch in dismay as people leave en masse.

There's PORT harcourt, there was a port in Calabar before there was one in Lagos...

People leave Lagos everyday and nothing changes..

Fashola helped in making Lagos what it is today...

Awwww stories that touch!

How does that change the fact that Igbos forsake Igboland for Yorubaland?

Good morning, dear!
It's because they are travellers more than the yorubas and they love diversity when it comes to surviving and livelihood...
Many people don't know the value of what they have so need the help of others to free the cloak on its importance...
Did I hear you say forsake?
That's the part you don't know the right word to use, how can some one who trace an opportunity to another land still harness the opportunity in the land and send the resources to his place for betterment of his life and people, still call from his place little and helpless others to teach then the way to providence in the foreign state which they re-invest in their places 'forsake' his land?
They are not foolish dear, they are wise... Just take such mindset off and understand the intricate part of the igbos then you will better yourself, though every ethnic group has an intricate part that'll wow others.
Thanks.

You don't get it and probably never will.

Take your Lagos pride and eat it if that'll make you grow taller.

Lagos, Lagos, Lagos chants all the time.

May Lagos not fall one day. It'll really be a nightmare for some people.

Stop being stup1d. Nobody leaves Onitsha to Owerre for any nonsense. There is enough fun in Anambra particular in Awka and Onitsha. The only reason people stop for a minute in Owerre is because of the cheap imo prostitutes that are abound in that area and nothing more. Stop being silly.

What really bothers me is how some people use abusive words on fellow humans so easily, forgetting that they're also humans. My brother what did i say to deserve all this abusive words from you telling me am being silly and stupid? You can still quote me or correct me without hate,we have never seen each other before and as such we should trade with caution. Well i will take it because you're my brother,God bless you. I served in Anambra State, Njikoka to be precised and I enjoyed my stay. The tank collecting rain water is true and the nice edifice is also true. I was surprised the number of beautiful houses I saw but unfortunately, many were empty. The buildings are there with giant gates and are mostly locked. In fact, I lived in a big apartment for almost free.

The people were hospitable and their delicacies are second to none. For this alone, an Igbo girl is good enough for me for marriage grin.

Above all, I don't regret serving in that state. If I have a reason to return again, I won't think twice. It was more of a home for me than when I was in the North. So many issues need to be addressed in the North.

Wow, thats my maternal home. Mum from Abagana specifically. Happy that you were treated well.

No its because I grew up with more yoruba girls than igbo girls right from primary to the university

Would have married one if not for circumstances beyond my control

Natuarally I gravitate towards marrying an igbo girl but am very open to the possibilty of the otherwise

Yorubas must validate Igbos existence before igbos feel a sense of "self".

And be more specific, he was talking about Anambra state. So if it's like Lagos, why do Igbos troop to Yorubaland?

Ans why do your houses look run-down anytime someone post epictures of Igboland? Just asking ni o

Get your facts straight. Igbos don't troop to Yorubaland, they troop to Lagos. Which other sw state is worth doing business in apart from Lagos, the previous capital of Nigeria, built with the collective resources of every Nigerian? Is it Ibadan, with no single impressive house except shanties with brown rusted roofs? Is it ondo, Osun, Ekiti that are mostly rural areas?

Please get your facts straight and stop feeling proud cos of Lagos which would not have attained it's present status if not for the fact that it was once a Federal capital territory.

Port Harcourt is like Warri, it's actually more inland than anything hence it's shallow, same for Calabar which is very narrow and shallow. The only viable port in the east would be in Akwa Ibom where there is a solid coastline, unlike the mangroves and shallow waters of Bayelsa, Rivers and Cross River. Look at a topological map.

Stop with the excuses...

Let the port stop at where the water is high and let them find means of getting the containers to the mainland...

There's always solution.. Never give excuses for incompetence..

And who is going to pay for that? It's not an excuse, it's logical to build a sea port at Ibaka. That's the solution.

Lol if the oil depletes, Igbos presence in Nigeria will be inconsequential. Not because of the tiny drops of oil in igboland. Igbos are stuck because if we let you go, we'll have to let Ijaws go. We can't have that now, can we?
Since you can't afford to lose them now why asking them to go? Believe me you've not been to Igboland. We have oil in the five Igbo states, but they've not been exploited, so... We are on advantage.

I'm from SW... Igbos wonder why Yoruba don't travel to other parts..

Its because the Yoruba are SW... The Yoruba will rather travel to Ogun, Osun, Ondo, Kwara, ibadan e.t.c to build...

They don't build outside the SW except its in another country that's better than SW....
