When I see some people from south east attacks this woman, Soludo and people in their class but celebrates the likes of Ifeayin Uba, Peter Obi, TA Orji, Orji Kalu, Chris Uba, and other crooks, it gives me the sense that majority of Igbos don't have value for uprightness and credibility, no wonder the Igbos cannot produce leadership that will enjoy national acceptance, and this will account for the reason the Igbos is degenerating politically among other groups in Nigeria. This may be hard for the Igbos to accept but it is the truth, the south south has gain more political relevance than the south east and we can see it by the way the igbos are clamouring for alliance with south south so they could hide behind their political strength.
Provide the empirical evidence that those morons are praised or shut the fvck up

There was no way it (OBJ's regime) could have been more corrupt that the government of Abacha. I am sorry,”

How does the statement above translate in the brains of some people to mean "OBJ's government was not corrupt"?

Nigeria as a nation is just filled with educated illiterates.

1. Oby never denied that OBJ's government was corrupt. She agreed that the regime was corrupt and that steps were taken to fight the corruption; even though the fight wasnt successful

2. Oby never said OBJ was not corrupt. She only tactically refused to answer the question and that was common sense at work.

Sometimes I wonder the kind of education some of these journalists have for them to come up with such interpretations. I also wonder the kind of schools some Nigerians went to.

It is one thing to say a person's government is corrupt and it is another thing to say the person himself is corrupt. Common sense and diplomacy in speech entails that you do not answer certain questions directly in public especially when no competent law court has convicted him of corruption. Oby may have accused GEJ of administrative incompetence, irresponsibility and running a massively corrupt government. But I am yet to see where she openly accuses the man GEJ himself of being corrupt. The lady has a degree in diplomacy and wouldn't have attained her present heights if she spoke carelessly on international TV.

Guy you get sense, other's above are just dumb a$. Can't interpret simple sentence, but hurry to comment.

what is wrong with you self, after the TV show, she went to her twitter account to defend what she said on the show by saying "there is no empirical proof obasanjo is corrupt" on twitter.
it was not only about the TV show( infact what she did on TV is just diplomacy, which is expected), but going on twitter subsequently to state emphatically that there is no empirical evidence obj is corrupt.... comon

infact, there is no empirical evidence sey u self go skul, judging by your reaction

well in case you don't know, our newly elected president, a man of integrity, Gen Buhari (modern day saint and Nigeria's messiah) said "abacha never stole money"

funny enough, i have empirical evidence (in the words of oby ) to proof GMB said that.

some of you don't understand that this country is just about interest and not about the citizens

Your opinion is welcomed. Bro, I'm free from hate and bigotry; it does no one any good.

We all know the TI position Nigeria was in the OBJ days.

Thanks. Sometimes you look at all these TI ratings and you will be tempted to throw it in the latrine. Do you really think anything changed as per corruption in governance between 1999 and today in Nigeria? As for me, no. Am only just hoping GMB will muster enough political will and strength to walk the talk in this area. The era where people see a call to serve as an opportunity to hammer and enter into the big league must stop. No one's status should just skyrocket immediately you get a government position. It doesn't happen that way in many places I have been to. A situation whereby a project that should cost N1b will end up gulping N10b and the balance graced the accounts of those responsible cannot bring any form of development and will definitely not benefit majority of the people of the region of the president in power. I just believe the political elite irrespective of where they come from, are taking the divisions amongst us as a yardstick to achieve their selfish aims. And that's why as a Niger Deltan I will never see a fight for a president from my region as a fight for the good of the entire region. It is not and it will never be. For me, if Buhari acts like them in the coming years then I can authoritatively say I have given up hope in Nigeria.

I like that you see or read between the lines, alot of us know the true including journalists but it in other to drive Web views and for publicity stunts you can't put it all plainly, there has to be something racy to make you wanna click or read this thread.
its just unfortunate that it is to the detriment of the truth and it gets to be true once it comes online, After all, how do you want to trace it's authenticity after 3 blogs carry the news unless someone directly involved comes out to refute the news which happens scarcely

Obasanjo is definitely corrupt when universal standards are used.
He did not directly dipped his hands in the treasury like jonathan ,Abacha,Babangida( the reason why he accumulated a $60 billion reserve)
Obasanjo's corruption was more of conflict of interest like giving patronage and collecting donations from people who want patronage from the government.
But based on what came before him and the record which Yaradua and jonathan have set ,
It is safe to say that obj is not corrupt.

Former Minister of Education, Oby Ezekwesili has defended her claim that there is no empirical evidence that former president, Olusegun Obasanjo is corrupt.

It will be recalled that Ezekwesili during an interview on Al Jazeera, said that there was no evidence of corruption in the former President’s regime despite reports to the contrary.

“There was no way it could have been more corrupt that the government of Abacha. I am sorry,” she said speaking of Obasanjo’s regime, where she served as a Minister.

When asked about a Wikileaks report which quoted former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Nuhu Ribadu as saying that everyone was a thief in Obasanjo’s government, Mrs Ezekwesili said:

“The next person you should invite to your show should be Nuhu Ribadu. Its not about rejecting his views. I don’t have counter-factory evidence on the basis to reject it”

When asked about her opinion on how corrupt Obasanjo was, she said:

“Is that supposed to be a question on the basis of some factual thing that you are putting before me? My sense of President Obasanjo was that he gave me the freedom to define the work that I did that public procurement was more transparent than it used to be.”

She has taken to her Twitter page to defend her stance, insisting there is no empirical evidence that Obasanjo is corrupt.

1. Secrecy in all the oil sales during his tenure
2. Sale of government houses
3. Unconstitutionally presiding over the oil ministry so as to cover up his shady deals
4. Sale of our refineries to his friends and cronies
5. Withdrawal from federation account and from NNPC account
6. Sale of Nitel AT Egbin
7. Privatization of Hilton Hotel, Ajaokuta Steel,ALSCON and NICON Insurance
8. Bogus contract award for Niger Delta Integrated power projects and Equipment of University Teaching Hospitals by presidential fiat
9. $16billion electricity countract
10. Source of funds for Obasanjo library
