Why We Published Ayo Fayose’ S ‘ Death’ Advert On Buhari – The Sun by dridowu: 11:23am On May 08, 2015 |
On January 19, Nigerians woke up to a shocking newspaper advert. Splashed across the front pages of two national dailies, The Sun and The Punch, were texts and images suggesting that Muhammadu Buhari, then presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress will die in office if elected president. http://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/top-news/182617-why-we-published-ayo-fayoses-death-advert-on-buhari-the-sun.html |

“So if we had published the original…. So it was the toned-down version that I approved that they eventually sent to The Punch that appeared the next day.” Will Mr Femi Adesina accept toned down version of his own burial when still alive ? lalasticlala 172 Likes 5 Shares |

A man in his 70s is not exactly a spring chicken tasked with changing the lives of 160million people, the workload may take its toll. Lets pray Buhari lives long but Fayose might be vindicated, its still early days yet. The job of president is not like any other job, its a 24hrs a day job. The average lifespan of a Nigerian is 55yrs, Buhari is 73yrs, was Fayose really wrong to warn Nigerians? 5 Likes 4 Shares |

Our media needs to be reformed. They have forgotten that journalism is supposed to be a noble profession with ethics. If they are not posting fake statements and attributing it to Wole Soyinka they are posing unsavory adverts by sick politicians. In no part of the world would that death advert have been acceptable 34 Likes 4 Shares |

Mogidi: Yes Buhari may still die in office just like Fayose may still die in office. Anyone can die at anytime, should we then start posting adverts telling the electorate all candidates are liable to die in office Because that is the reality, death is not by age. As we saw one of the men who was talking about Buhari dying has already died before him 201 Likes 17 Shares |

Mogidi: It depends on the nature if the job, as long as the job is more mental than physical why not. Yes physical energy depreciates with age but that doesn't equal dying before younger people. Anyone can die at anytime, a health person can be hit by a car and die while someone with cancer may end up outliving him. Fayose is very childish and has no understanding but anyway a man who can insult his own mother should nerve be taken seriously. Many 35year olds have died before 75 year olds 80 Likes 4 Shares |

My hatred for Ayo Fayose crystallised when that publication was made. Even if you are playing a rough game of politics, courtesy dictates that you don't wish another human being death. It's so sad that Ayo showed his inhumanity in this matter. 29 Likes |

hehehe! Na who ask una to explain? All of you both on the social/print media who left campaign issues aside to instead focus on casting aspersions on the person of Gen. Buhari indirectly did 45% of his campaigning for him. If I were the man, I`d call you guys out and give you awards for excellence. All the Ichidodos, Barcanistas, tits and the rest of the flip-mode squad who were blasting the guy instead of selling GEJ to people, deserve awards from the APC. Cos it sure made ordinary citizens empathize with the man Buhari and therefore raised votes for him. No need for any explanation from The SUN. 21 Likes 1 Share |
