Please who has gone through skilled independent visa 189 route. What is the particular document required as proof for work experience claim? |

Good day everyone. Please I need to ask this questions, I have a BSc in Biochemistry but have really shifted to ICT (Telecommunications) and the occupation on the SOL falls under Engineers Australia as the assessment body (Telecommunications Network Engineer), how possible is it for me to get assessed by the body and will my BSc still help me claim points despite it being a non-engineering degree, assuming I have upto 4yrs experience in the field? Or does the assessment require an Engineering degree or diploma as a criterion (must it be only an engineering degree)?...I have professional training in both Telecom and CCNA, A+. |

Ninibabe:If he is going for a Bsc in Nursing which takes about 3-3.5 yrs, he cant get PR until he is done studying. 18months or 2 yrs diploma in nursing should giv him PR faster expecially if he study in Regional Areas of Australia. Be sure u know d drift. |

mrnilobrawn: @mrnilobrown Can my 5 yr engineering degree obtained from a state university(Lautech, ogbomosho) coupled with 2 and half yrs experience be assessed positively by Engineers Australia considering the school ranking as earlier discussed on this thread. |
Re: General Australian Visa Enquiries by bellong: 6:06pm On May 08, 2015 |
udokas: Bank statement/Payslip/tax document Letter from employer detailing your work schedule, salary and working hours. If you have the appointment letter, it is good to add it. |

My people, I finally submitted my application today. I learnt that the yellow card has to be uploaded. Pls. where do I upload it? Also, my passport was returned to me. Where would they stamp the visa? I hope that I am in order? Thanks. |
Re: General Australian Visa Enquiries by Nobody: 10:47pm On May 08, 2015 |
Ninibabe:I don't think he must get done with AHRPA before lodging the PR thing. However, he must get licenced via them before he can practice...nurses migrate to Oz without getting the license but do other jobs and do other necessary things with AHRPA. I believe before PR application, he must have gotten his English test results-proficiency levels at all bands, no skill assessment I guess... once he gets his required points for the intended visa...off he goes and add u guys. |

Hello Guys, Can someone please confirm with a link if possible if visa sub class 190 (state sponsored) grants have been suspended? Thanks |
Re: General Australian Visa Enquiries by Nobody: 11:17pm On May 08, 2015 |
scrollmeout:It is not suspended... I think no more visas until they reshuffle. Just get on the queue! Just like no invitations for ICT business and Systems Analyst until next fiscal year doesn't mean we don't prepare to fill out eoi. |

@ All, if ur B.Sc of Computer Science in Nigeria is not backed up with some post qualification work experiences of at least two years....it may become comparable to an AQF Associate degree. However, if you have got lesser work years or worked while studying and your experiences are relevant to ur nominated position, back the B.Sc up with a master of IT related major. |
Re: General Australian Visa Enquiries by Nobody: 11:37pm On May 08, 2015 |
mPop:Any position not on csol can be looked up under subclass 189...if not there..I think it is not needed for the time being. Sometimes the thing is to get over immigration as u can do anything legal when u are in either as a survival job or change of plans. |
Re: General Australian Visa Enquiries by mPop(f): 11:47pm On May 08, 2015 |
that was why i said i wanted to do pgd social work. bt now im bn told i need prior learning. in fact its annoying. pls i dont understand dt ur state sponsorship thingy. does it mean if ur occupation is not on the sol u hv to make sure its bn sponsored by a state even if its on csol. is that what u mean?/meant |
Re: General Australian Visa Enquiries by mPop(f): 11:51pm On May 08, 2015 |
ferdimako , that marketing specialist is under the csol but @izsy says no state is sponsoring it. so it means i cant apply for pr with a degree in marketing? |
Re: General Australian Visa Enquiries by Nobody: 12:04am On May 09, 2015 |
mPop:If no state is sponsoring and not on 189...nothing oh. Look for another position that ur stuff aligns with. |
Re: General Australian Visa Enquiries by izykvision0: 1:23am On May 09, 2015 |
mPop: I will start by saying this (general): Its unfortunate based on the state of d nation and shallow degree of youth exposure in Nigeria that loads of youth end up doing degrees that are a mis-match to their work experience. U try advising a Nigerian youth on a course to study, but he/she is bent on what his/her passion was since wayback SS2. While some it just hapnd dey got in, and some for peer group ego or parental ego; forgeting about the economic part of d course. Now the headache here is u want to dissert ur bsc degree, which is a fundamental pre-requisite for Aussy PR assessment or a 5yr post bsc work exp. related to d nominated field. Since ure deficient in this regard, pls do a course that will make u relevant in Aussy and at d same time secure PR. You need to do this reaearch on ur own. The sol and csol list + state list will guide u. Never do a course with the hope that a state will sponsor it in future and never do a course that is over flogged and stands d risk of being removed. If u can stay on the health pathway. Its more of a certainty. Study route is ur best bet. So put in ur bucks and research in student visa. 2 Likes |

bellong:thanks Bellong, please one more question. Is it anyone of Bank statement/Payslip/tax document or all of them? Thanks |
Re: General Australian Visa Enquiries by Nobody: 7:12am On May 09, 2015 |
izykvision0:Not everybody knew they would one day want to get out..again it is not easy to be admitted in Nigerian universities. So many pple just want to enrol...u are right about following trends and peers. You can hardly convince somebody here to study veterinary medicine.. it is medicine and surgery...when that didn't work, they end up with biology. I'm not saying biology is bad but vet med would have made more sense outside Nigeria. My brother just finished statistics and he's already playing with some software..if he can top it with one Masters program... he gonna move up. My friend...my B.Sc didn't sail, I will add Masters degree soon and top money for ACS. Thanks |
Re: General Australian Visa Enquiries by izykvision0: 7:25am On May 09, 2015 |
ferdimako: Yea true talk. Good one bro. Studied statistics as well, which even till date is seen as a low level course by loads of Nigerians. But its economic value out of Naija is mind blowing especially if one is into analytics and can use softwares like SQL, SAS, R, Advanced EXCEL, SPLUNK, HADOOP, PIG and write codes in them. Though its a lot of commitment learning programming languages. 1 Like |

izykvision0: when u say "pls do a course that will make u relevant etc" does it mean i have to do another bsc? again? cs since i cant use my bsc and i dont have the 5yrs wrk experience. or can i enter for tafe in social work? hear its for small children/kids i mean the tafe cn any1 confirm this pls. i have chkd d csol nd sol multiple times. |
Re: General Australian Visa Enquiries by mPop(f): 7:45am On May 09, 2015 |

Re: General Australian Visa Enquiries by Nobody: 7:53am On May 09, 2015 |
scrollmeout: Not suspended, just slowedddddd for the rest of the financial year. The quota refreshes on July 1st. So rather than getting grants, applicants are getting delay mails informing them of the limited spaces available. |
Re: General Australian Visa Enquiries by Nobody: 7:55am On May 09, 2015 |
Ninibabe: Once he graduates, he automatically qualifies for PR...he does not need work experience to register with Ahpra, neither does he need to assess his degree as it is an Aus degree. Normally, work experience adds more points...but by the time he adds his points in English Language, age, studying in Australia, Australian certificate, and/or studying in a regional area, work exp points will be unneccessary if he is going for 189. Nursing is on every state's occupation list and on the SOL for 189. He is gon spend a sh*tload of money on schooling expenses, but it will all be worthwhile once he starts working. 2 Likes |
