The genotype test of either of the couple was wrong from the beginning. Sometimes lab A says this and Lab B says otherwise. Advice: Couples should always go to competent labs before marriage. Don't patronize quacks.

Was the man born AA? Cos some tru miracle their genotype change to AA from SS......maybe that is what happened in that case!

Though I suggest the Man should have his GENOTYPE rechecked.
POSSIBLE causes will include MUTATION which took place over time.

Another possible cause could be a GENE which has remained RECESSIVE over time, but suddenly became DORMINANT in subsequent FILIAL generations.

Just like a BLACK MAN having an ALBINO or WHITE CHILD

I think the problem is with the genotype tests. What I suspect (and this is conjecture) is that girl is not SS but SC and that the father is not AA but AC. My experience is that most Nigerian labs cannot correctly identify AC and SC genotypes. My reco will be for them to seek out a respected lab to redo the genotype tests for the Father and daughter.

Women when looking for the fruit of the womb, play soccer with the boots of their husband family member, and rationalise it that after all, it is from the same family.

Before I go further..let me quickly suggest they should carry out d genotype test of the parents and the new born which is followed by paternity of the new born (of course from a foreign clinic).. Dnt trust all this quacks...if the result still comes back positive then all fingers point to the man..maybe he had a little fling outside with an SS Woman..she took in at d same time with d wife..d delivery date coincided wit DAT of his wife..they went to f same clinic..at birth d babies were kind of mixed up(it happens for abroad not to talk of niga)...lol

An University teaching hospital lab tests is advised.

Do a recheck of the couple's genotype or be prepared to suspect the husband's brother to be the father,as he might have similar markers with d husband.

In this situation, there are 3 things: firstly the man is. Likely to be AS he needs to do a genotype test again, he might just be assuming based on test he might have done in school, secondly, paternity test, otherwise thirdly, science is wrong

Hmmmm.... I got scared when i saw this post.... Its with heavy heart I say this is happening in my young marriage....My spouse is AA im AS. We had our baby in America this year they told us this, We asked for a recheck and it was almost same thing.

We decided to come to run our test in Nigeria, A test and a re-run says the same SS. The hospital advised we check again in few months as the infants undergo changes and the result cannot be confirmed.

We will wait till she is 6 months to 1yr old. But you dont have an idea of how scared i'm. I discussed with a medical consultant friend and he told me it is impossible that I should worry and check when she is one. but I'm scared to death and pray about this everyday. Medicine is abit funny cos I dont know possible this is medically and I dont want my only kid to be an example of such. Pray for us. Its not a good thing to happen.

Note that we are 100% sure of our status and had several rerun of test, I also trust my spouse with all my heart, Besides she is the AA.

I will advice this family that made the post to wait and not scatter the home cos of this. Accusation isnt the best and the wrongest approach to go about it.

The woman in OP's tale could very well be saying the truth - and the post quoted above has just lent credence to her tale. Don't be so quick to condemn or shout "Impossible". As for those saying the man should go and do another genotype test, I can't help but wonder at their reading and comprehension skills - is that una no read where OP said they've done the tests severally and in different places?? Prevention is better than cure, even after spending on them only to loose them at the ripe age. Only few of them eventually survive it. The pain and agony is unbearable.

Justing tinking aloud , r u sure de baby girl was nt exchanged with der own baby in de hospital on de day of delivery , remember nutin can be ruled out. Sumtyms we all av to be very careful wit wat goes on to babies in de hospital during delivery. Was de ma der wit de wife de day she put to bed, n did he follow de nurse to de place wer de bathed de baby. U neva no wat happened
