They started as insurgency in Somalia, then they went to guerrilla, now they are going full scale unconventional

A terror suspect has been caught with explosive materials in a suitcase, following cooperation btn intelligence and police- that's a fact , when did you last ever here such a thing (NIS working in collaboration with police?)

When adan Garar was killed in the US airstrike, Kenyan military intelligence was actually the first one to confirm his death, rather than the US, that enough proof that Kenya helped in the killing of Adan Garar http://www.nation.co.ke/news/Al-Shabaab-chief-behind-Westgate-attack-killed/-/1056/2652350/-/4nlx5dz/-/index.html
there has never been any other airstrike carried out by the US in which it was said that there was exchange of intel

intel from Kenya released later showed detailed account of Adan garar activities (his profile, who he met, where he went, where he entered the country)
http://news.yahoo.com/al-shabab-man-killed-drone-brought-arms-mall-145805112.html

Kenyan intelligence is not actually the problem, If you look at every terror attack in Kenya there is always proof that there was sufficient intelligence to thwart the attack. The only problem is, the way it works btn the intelligence and police- its more of the NIS giving reports to police then the police are the one to decide what to do with it, which most of the time, they don't do anything. Have you watched "children of a lesser God" documentary? you will know what am saying. The Garissa training collage, which is right next to the University, was closed down 2 days before the attack after being warned of imminent threath, but sadly only two police officers were sent to protect the university wich was still opened

If you have followed events in Somalia you would know that most of the operations are intelligently-led, from airstrikes, raids, repulsing ambushes. So intelligence is there in plenty.

And about the nuclear bombs: They are what you call suitcase nukes, Its not a joke and you should take it seriously, Its not actually a nuclear bomb the way you would think. its basicaly a dirty bomb (IND - improvised nuclear device) but instead of the usual explosive chemicals, they can use plutonium which is/can be used for civilian purposes (not very hard to acquire ), but can be very dangerous in the hands of terrorist.

In short, the suitcase nukes can be made from any fissile material or a combination of materials than can cause a chain of reactions capabale of causing nuclear fission chain reaction.

This kind of warning was given to all public universities in Kenya, you can see the date there is 25-March, which means it was well known that a public university would be attacked, the garrissa attack hapended on the 2nd of April

@denisfidha you need to know the difference between a dirty bomb and a nuclear bomb

the article wich I posted talks about a backpack nuclear device
A suitcase nuke, suitcase bomb, backpack nuke, mini-nuke and pocket nuke - all means the same thing, so nothing wrong with the article

Add this one to the Tanzanian

I have just said up there that, on that airstrike, it was the first time it was said Kenya had shared intelligence with US on the wherebouts of the guy before the airstrike.
If the Somalis were so good don't you think they would be be having enough intel to prevent all the attacks happening in Mogadishu alone(the seat of the government) leave alone having intel for operatives in the interior of Somali then giving it to the US for airstrikes.
Do you know that KDF military intelligence is resposible for gathering all intelligence in Southern Somalia and coordinating all intelligence in the whole AMISOM structure?
Reorganisation of AMISOM's headquarters and sector commands. Personnel (J1) would be led by the AU, with Kenya taking responsibility for intelligence (J2) and logistics (J4), Uganda operations (J3) and engineer (J8), Burundi plans (J5) and communications/IS (J6), Sierra Leone training (J7), and Djibouti CIMIC (J9).
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/African_Union_Mission_to_Somalia
So to a large extent, it is our backyard(under AMISOM)
Yes we have not captured or killed some of our most wanted in Somalia, but to say that we completely don't have any intel on thier whereabouts is alittle bit un-informed
Thats my last point too, so my case rests there

Now its gone from intelligence to physical presence?

Dude, if you have some resentment about KDF/Amisom war in Somalia then I cant help(thats something for another thread)

Alshabaab used to launch attacks on Kismayu, and Amisom forces in Kismayu almost every week, then Amisom liberated all towns surrounding Kismayu and its environs (except from one town as of 2014).
If you go to lets say Ras-Kamboni today, you wont find KDF on the streets policing. After liberation and percification that town was left to SNA, but KDF still conducts daily patrols on these towns as shown in the two videos below.

if I rem correcty, you posted this video

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PRaBVc7T0Zo

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k8HiZgqlKs8

Alshabaab have always made it clear that they wont rest until KDF pulls out of Somalia, with KDF HQ being in Kismayu, can you tell me when was the last time you heard of news of an attack that makes it to news headlines of any installation/building/Convoy in Kismayu city (the 2nd biggest city that used to be under alshabaabs control in Somali)?

The latest town to be liberated by KDF/Amisom and SNA was the port city of Kuday, which is 130km southwest of Kismayu, surely you cant expect 4000 Soldiers to be literaly scattered across all of southern Somali

now see the following video jubbaland SNA soldiers on patrol in the outside kismayo get attacked only later do we see a KDF WZ551 come to support them

Nothing currently.

But SAAF has a fighter capability which can be deployed if needed as seen during the world cup, CAR incident and Madiba's funeral.

Training and missions like boarder surveillance.

According to the Sunday Times

The newspaper reports that field commanders had pleaded for armoured personnel carriers two months before the ambush, that they had asked for sniper rifles, Rooivalk attack helicopters, Oryx transport helicopters and a reconnaissance aircraft - none of which were supplied.

SA Air Force aircraft were also put on standby but due to financial constraints the Gripens were not armed with weapons with an attack capacity.

SANDF soldiers reportedly struggled on the ground due to lack of logistics and air support.

Substantiate your claims or is this another anti-South African statement?

1.

Questions have been raised in some circles about whether South Africa needs a fleet of modern fighter planes. Lewis-Olsson explains that the Gripens have seen action supporting South African troops in central Africa, and have also been deployed for local events like the Soccer World Cup

http://www.africandefence.net/saafs-flying-cheetahs-to-stay-airborne/

2. SA was ready for more

The four Gripens were noticed on Saturday at Ndola airport in the north of Zambiawhen flying out of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) to the Makhado Air Force Base in Limpopo after the Economic Community of Central African States (Eccas) indicated last week that they will deal further with the crisis in the CAR without South Africa.

1. The South African political leadership was already under fire for the deployment as the mandate of the protection team was unclear.

2. The Gripens won't carry bombs when deploying currently cause SAAF lacks aerial refuelling capability.

3. A C-130 cargo plane carries the pods, bombs, ground crew etc.

4. If SAAF had a tanker aircraft they'd carry their pods and weapons all the way to the staging area.

Im talking about what happened after the Battle of Bangui not before! Gripens and Rooivalk as you have read, were deployed in the wake of the attack on our Soldiers.

Anti- South African statements!

1. The South African and CAR goverment had a bilateral agreement in which the SANDF was to train FACA soldiers among other things since around 2008.

A. When Seleka advanced South the SA deployed a protection force for the teams already on the ground.

2. SAAF Gripens carried fuel tanks. When deploying to increase their range. Munition and pods were carried in a C-130.

Citation: John Morgan, a South African working in Zambia, was amazed while at Ndola airport on Saturday waiting for his flight and four Gripen fighter aircraft landed.

Shortly thereafter, a South African C-130 Hercules cargo plane with the Gripens ground crew also landed there.
