mamaju: One word: don't. That's a criminal offence, identity tax fraud. Read up here about what the Internal Revenue Service, the tax authorities, do about that: http://www.irs.gov/uac/Newsroom/IRS%E2%80%99s-Top-Ten-Identity-Theft-Prosecutions And you're creating a big mess for your child, the very one you're hoping to get your papers through. Your SSN uniquely identifies you as an individual. What is your child going to do when they turn up in the US and present an SSN which, as it turns out, has already been used by someone else? 12 Likes 1 Share |

mamaju: So you want to take part in fraud and are asking people to advise you on this? You believe so much in her, even when she's clearly committing a crime? How do you justify her wanting to "gain more in tax returns", through use of fraudulent means, of course with you being a co-conspirator? 9 Likes |

[quote author=mamaju post=33739639]Well done everyone in the house for d wonderful contributions. Pls l need advice on this issue. I want to give my sister my baby's Social Security Number, she needs it to fill for TAX ONLY. I just want to assist her to gain more in Tax returns. I believe so much in her, so d idea of using it otherwise will not crop up. Pls don't do it. |

mamaju: Please go easy on her . Not everyone know these things. 2 different people in the US took turns to convince me to drop the identity of my child for tax returns but i said mba. They promised to share the proceeds of the returns with me, imagine getting paid like $1000-$1500 on a child per annum. That is mouthwatering but I still said mba. @OP.....This matter bothers on conscience and morality. The money your sister may promise to share with you will be paid with the sweat of tax paying americans. Dont reap where you didnt sow. Your child is not in the US and no one should claim returns on him or her. Cheers 15 Likes |

God2big2sure: You don't have to be hun. Sometimes, it actually pays to do a 'crash course' . Do it all at once and rest afterwards. It won't be easy at first, but it does get better over time. As for hubby, i think he should apply much later, say when you are about leaving and state that he's going to witness the birth of his child. This will give some time between your previous trip and this one. Congrats. I pray it's triplets this time. 6 Likes |

abike02:Well,it would have been easy to know this if you live in the states and you usually file for tax refunds using your child's identity. If someone already used his identity, the IRS system will reject your application until you provide more evidence that you are the rightful claimant. I feel your brother will not use the identity without your approval. However, If you are so sure that you have become the victim of identity theft outside of the tax system or believe you may be at risk due to a lost/stolen purse or wallet, questionable credit card activity or credit report, etc., you are encouraged to contact the IRS Identity Protection Specialized Unit, toll-free at 1-800-908-4490. You will need to fill out the IRS Identity Theft Affidavit, Form 14039. The Social Security Administration can also be contacted. Read more on http://www.irs.gov/Individuals/ |

Dear fam, is it advisable to write the embassy on childbirth in the us when you are married to a usc who resides in the us, I fear they might cancel my visa and ask that he files for me.another question is are we meant to pay for child birth even though he pays taxes. Am due in July and want to leave for the US next month though my visa was gotten as a single lady before I got married and have used it twice .please advise . |

dere5: It all depends on where you are staying. Nigerian passport can be obtained from Atlanta, Washington and New York. So if you are leaving near these places, you can get it from there. The challenge most people have is the fact that baby must be physically present for the process and also distance. Its much easier to get a Nigerian Visa which would not require your physical presence. When I did my baby's own in Atlanta, I came from a town 2.5 hrs away, someone else came from Miami, due to closeness and preference. For Nigerian Passport, New York is the best because if you get there early and can push it, you can get it same day. |

staa: I see no one has answered you so let me try. what do you mean by usc? Do you mean University of Southern California? Irrespective of a pending immigrant application your non immigrant visa cannot be cancelled IF you have not contravened the terms upon which the visa was issued.e.g Overstaying in the US or working with a visitors visa. so the letter is in order. Answer to Question number 2 depends on what USC mean so you can recap. cheers |

staa:Since you have used your visa twice, u do not need to email the embassy. It is your decision to either pay or not because the baby dad is a Us citizen. Your baby is entitled to Medicaid and all because the father is also entitled to it(he pays tax). Make sure your husband files for you before you get preggy with your next baby. It only takes less than 6months for your own green card to be processed for you. good luck 1 Like |
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 2 by Tvegas(m): 11:49am On May 15, 2015 |
zeezahbee: I beg to disagree with the medicaid part. First of all, Medicaid is meant for certain individuals and families with low incomes and few resources so the fact that he pays tax doesnt mean he must use medicaid. Secondly Medicaid eligibility and benefits can and often do vary widely from state to state. And i dont think informing the embassy will hurt her,she is not a US citizen hence she has no right at the border only priviledges. @Op....since your husband is a US citizen he is in the best position to give you the right answer none of us can do that with confidence. Whatever happens he should have one form of health insurance or the other so he knows best. Best of luck. 7 Likes |

How do I know if her husband is low income ?? Read my reply well. The husband is a US citizen. Ok let me break Medicaid down to you. Immediately u have your baby , they place a call to you, ask if you want any financial assistance and if you say yes. They bring a form and you will state if you are a residence or not, then they ask for your current income. If the father of the baby is earning less than 50000, they foot the bill. Medicaid is not for people with low income, it is for children from age 0-19. Medicaid is automatic for the baby regardless of how much the parent earn. I live in USA so am talking from experience Tvegas: 3 Likes |

zeezahbee: Where art you chill? Her hubby most def will be on a form of insurance but she may not be able to access it if hubby didn't add her as a beneficiary. Pregnancy is already a pre-existing condition, thus most if not all insurance companies may not accept her. When she gets in, she should explore the P.M.E program for pregnant women in her state. Using it will not affect her immigration/ green card ambition as a spouse of a USC, but if she goes for medicaid when hubby doesn't qualify for medicaid, it may go into her record and rear it's ugly head when it's time to get approved for a green card. 4 Likes |
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 2 by nefertitiram: 1:24pm On May 15, 2015 |
zeezahbee: That is for baby, what about for herself? She's entering US as a visitor on a b1/b2 visa, not as a spouse of a USC. She may have to pay for herself if she doesn't take the medical card for pregnant women option. It has different names in different states. |

Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 2 by zeezahbee(f): 1:24pm On May 15, 2015 |
nefertitiram:Yes she will pay her own bill not for the baby? As long a baby papa is a citizen and pay tax.The baby can be on medicaid. Mother needs to sort herself separate. Medicaid is automatic even if the baby papa is bill gate or Obama. Medicaid is for children from 0-19 years. On your 19 birthday , Medicaid is over. Medicaid is free health care for children and it varies by states to state in USA Medicaid is only a venom to people that are not citizen or residence because funds from Medicaid comes for our tax. So that makes a non-residence a cheat Currently in Texas, the state give CHIp (children Heath insurance program) this is for low income parent, it will take care of both mother and baby during birth, this one is from the state. Medicaid is federal. 2 Likes |

zeezahbee: Actually Tvegas ia partly right, whether or not he lives in the states , and you are partly. Medicaid is for the low income. It is means tested which means your income determines eligibility...hence the question about income that you mention. But low income is not the only requirement, and eligibility categories - ie who is covered- vary from State to State. 3 Likes |
