Nigeria’ll Disintegrate If Uwazuruike Is Arrested – MASSOB by Islie: 5:27am On May 18, 2015
From ALOYSIUS ATTAH, Onitsha

The Movement for the Actualsation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), has warned that Nigeria would disintegrate, if its leader, Chief Ralph Uwazuruike were arrested by the President-elect, General Muhammadu Buhari (rtd), adding that he has no constitutional power to arrest him.

The group gave the warning in Onitsha, Anambra State.

Reacting to a statement credited to the MASSOB leader that Buhari was planning to clamp down on him using the organisation’s Regional administrator for Nnewi South Region, Tony A. Nwodo, said General Buhari has no constitutional power to arrest Uwazuruike and warned that such alleged plan if carried out, would result in disintegration of the country.

Nwodo said: “Uwazuruike is our spiritual and physical leader, Buhari cannot arrest him. It is like saying you will arrest the Sultan of Sokoto, who is the religious leader of the muslims.

“He should first arrest Oba Rilwan Akiolu of Lagos State, who is now into partisan politics for vowing that Igbo living in Lagos State should perish in the lagoon if they failed to vote for APC gubernatorial candidate.

“If Uwazuruike is arrested, Nigeria will disintegrate. By virtue of Uwazuruike’s position, you can’t arrest him. Buhari should focus on how to provide dividends of democracy to Nigerians and not to look for perceived enemies to clamp down upon. We are not in the days of the military that based its actions on dictatorship.”

Reiterating that MASSOB would continue to struggle for a sovereign state of Biafra, Nwodo stated that no amount of threats would deter the group from the struggle.

“We are a non-violent group fighting for a sovereign state of Biafra because Nigerian government has continued to marginalise Igbo nation.

“We will not relent in the struggle and nobody can threaten us, no matter how highly placed,” he added.

Really?

This is why these guys are not taken seriously. Why raise dust over something that has not happened or is there a reason why the man should be arrested?

“If Uwazuruike is arrested, Nigeria will disintegrate. By virtue of Uwazuruike’s position, you can’t arrest him
By the way, what position does he occupy that shields him from arrest? Saying that he cannot be arrested (if there is a real reason to arrest him) is an indication of detachment from reality.

And about the disintegration threat, they should know by now that the threat doesn't work anymore.
It has been overused.

Clowns! grin
You sit down in one backyard room in Onitsha and threatens Nigeria will disintegrate if a local militia man or common thug is picked up.
You think Nigeria starts and end in Onitsha?

The chest-beaters at it again!

Has Nwazuruike committed any crime to warrant an arrest? If no, why the noise?

And if he attempts causing any trouble, he will be arrested and NOTHING will happen.

We are now entering a proper phase of governance where every sane person is expected to behave well.

Misbehave and get your asss whipped.

It is pure comedy that Massob is ascribing phantom importance to itself?? grin

Why would Baba arrest Uwazuruike when his being on the street and making so much noise is same as having a chihuahua as a guard dog.

Bunch of attention seekers.... kiss

Exactly. I'm yet to see where anybody threatened or remotely suggested he's that important to warrant being arrested.

I guess it's his own way of getting some much needed attention cheesy

Somebody should please tell these people the meaning of treason and its attendant punishment as per Nigeria constitution. So that if Buhari begin to implement the constitution no body will see it as a witch-hunt.

Nigeria has integrated deeper and way past all these self centered agitations

Whatever their activities are this period, they should take away violence from it, because its no longer business as usual, this country must progress without violent distractions...

Some people are simply too daft. Is massob a religious organisation?? It is at best a political group. If its leader does things that threatens the peace of the nation, he would be arrested and NOTHING will happen. Okah was arrested and nothing happened. Some dudes simply underestimate federal might.

And he went on to say they should first arrest the Oba. Okay, so it means if the Oba is arrested, then Uwazurike can be arrested as well right and then the country wouldn't disintegrate, right??

Well, I blame Jonathan for all these. Under his administration, these violent groups developed such big balls they got used to issuing threats with reckless abandon.

The same way Shekau has gone missing would be how Ralph would if he keeps threatening this country.

you will be surprised how only a few people share in this your opinion. I assure you that the actions of the new government after may29 will determine the way forward for naija. Right now the unity is not sure.

I may not be speaking for everyone, but certainly those millions of south easterners living and working outside the south east especially with the FG don't share a contrary opinion, more so, if you're from Anambra, you certain don't think Imo people will share in your ideals. I feel this whole Biafra thing is a self centered ambition, the original Biafra was built with oil as a major source of revenue to sevelo the region, right now, that is no longer the case, the south south will never want to be in Biafra even if they support your ambition to be a nation

In as much as I am not a fan of a dullard like uwazuruike but what really can nigeria do when and if war comes to Nigeria besides getting mercenaries from Britain, Russia, Egypt and using starvation to do what they can not do on the battle field, uwazuruike seems to be talking from a viewpoint of having seen every imaginable things nigeria military can possibly do.

My advice to buhari is to squarely face Nigeria's problem of petroleum refinery, power generation and unemployment and leave second at issues other wise he might find out too late that there could be more skilled fighters backing uwazuruike than all of Nigerian Military

We need to beat all this segregationist into line, we know they are all weak - we just need to light a fire under there toes so there followers can hear them squeal before we strike the match.

MASSOB, RadioBiafra and the people who are using them (Asari & Co.) Because we know the east, are slaves to the oil producing states and this oil yet will be there undoing.

You may be right bro because I have come across many Igbo who do not want Biafra but a lot of them are also for it. that's y we are calling for a referendum

Its funny how Nigeria will disintegrate. I saw I map of Biafra once and it include states like cross river and akwa ibom. If for once you believe cross river and akwa ibom states will decide to split from nigeria and join the most tribalistic set of people in the world (Ibos), then you need a new set of brains.
