It's funny that thread couldn't make front page. Thanks

Sometimes life is like that wink
What can we do but to find other creative ways of sharing relevant info so as many as possible are also aware.
Cheers!

Kindly point out to where the OP said EVERYBODY MUST start their own business.
Thanks.

BTW, success is NOT measured only by wealth accumulation.

LET ME SHARE MY EXPERIENCE

I've always fancied having a business of my own but I earlier lacked the guts to start. It was after I lost my 'well paying' job with little or nothing left on me, that I was pushed to start a BUSINESS CENTRE in 2012. I'm a graduate of Computer Science (2.1).
Now I'm enjoying what I'm doing and still looking out for more. I've now upgraded to providing ICT & Print Solutions while still retaining the Business Centre model in the DOCUMENTATION SERVICES Section.
I'll advise my fellow graduates to START, no matter how small. We will surely get there.

You can check out my business at www.facebook.com/deogratias.ict
Dont forget to like the page. Thanks.

Acidosis:

Nobody will give you capital to start an idea (ideas fail all the time).

Start by offering catering services to birthday celebrants, wedding, end of the year celebrants, companies, AGMs, etc.

By the way can you cook? what experience do you have? This and many more will determine the viability of your biz and the tendency to pay back.

I hope your intention is not to employ caterers and a manager, while you sit back waiting for your sales girls to serve you breakfast, lunch and dinner.
I see so you want to tell me that intial laydown capital is not necessary abi? Ok!

Unless they will get a competent manager to run the business, Nigerian graduates should go work first (full time or part time) to acquire the basic skills as it's no news that most of them are not employable.
And sadly, our schools train them to look for jobs only. lipsrsealed

#Respect!

Here he goes; Nigerian graduates are not employable. I wonder what that one means. That is the nonsense some of our stupid leaders who are too clueless to create jobs tried to feed us and unfortunately you allowed yourself to be fed. They are unemployable yet you said they should get a job? Is that not contradictory?

OP you mean after I've graduated & my parent spent about 2.8Million naira on my education in a Private university for 4yrs i should start hawking sachet water at area 1, Abuja in the name of starting small. Pls you don't know anything about Dangote and how he started cos if you do you woudn't be using him as reference.
What you call business is what i refer to buying & selling. Business is much more than Trading or buying & selling.

1: I gave that as an illustration.
I won't be happy that my child failed to secure a job. But I would be more sad if he fails to also find something to do with the knowledge dat he acquired from school.
Now I ask you, which is better; to sit at home and complain abt everytin u can complain abt on an empty stomach or to hawk the pure water and gala?

2: I've answered your question
then it wld v been better den to start selling d gala and pure water immediately after pry 6 instead of going to school to acquire a bsc or MSC or watever and wasting d parents hard earned money. wat do u say?
wld u say pple shd stop been educated then and everybody shd go learn bead fashion gala and all those

I could stiill remember vividly when my uncle do look at his Friends who coudn't continue with their education & has to stop at secondary school level & start learning some trade with pity.but now if i compare what these guys have achieved over the years,i tend to see that they made a better choice than my uncle. They are more comfortable with chains of busineses & some even employ graduates as their sales rep. So why waste all these precious yrs & resources studying when you know you'll end up hawking sachet water & selling galla. Common sense.
