ttomexy: Thanks for your response. Please can't I pay for exemption, tuition, exams fees etc using the same etranzact platform. I intend to complete my payment by instalments probably by june ending/july but want to start studying ahead for the August diet. Please how do I go about the payment by instalments if its allowed, which and which to pay for first to be on the safer side to write the August diet? And has registration for August diet started? Thanks. |
Re: Human Resource Professionals: by ttomexy(f): 1:20pm On May 18, 2015 |
eHustler: Are you a registered member? if yes then you can just pay for study pack or any other and start preparing for the exam; if no, then register on the cipm website with your certificates, your admission letter will have your student detail/number which you can then use to pay in the bank |

Urgent recruitment for the position of a Human Resource Officer . The candidate must have at least two years Generalist experience Must be resident in Abuja. Send CV to Sparklespotservices@gmail.com |
Re: Human Resource Professionals: by yemmight(m): 5:45pm On May 19, 2015 |
detutu1: Hi, It is not compulsory you register at any study center before sitting for any diet. Many students sat for the cipm exams without any study center but that depend on your ability to do without them. Secondly, most of the study centers have scheduled time of lectures for weekends haven't factored the working class into their programmes. Lastly, their fees are not fixed. You may need to get in touch with any chosen one for confirmation. 1 Like |

yemmight: Hello sir, I've been following ur thread and I must say you are indeed a great source of information for all who need to know... My name is Abeeb, I have HND Business Administration (upper credit ), student Member, P.E 1 CIPM. Am currently working in a bank as a teller which is definitely not where I will love to be. But, one way or the other , we must learn how to adapt in any situation we find ourselves in and try to make the best out of it. However, in a nutshell, I won't mind dropping my job for a reputable organisation where I could actually practice what I love most (HR). But, I can take up any voluteer HR job for now provided it's on weekend bases. I will really appreciate any assistance render in this regard. Thanks. |

@yemmight Good day, pls have just been appointed as the hr head in my company 2 days ago and i have no experience. A case just occured in my office. An employee ( given employment contract letter) slapped our tea girl ( not given contract letter). The girl was dissmissed after bringing soldiers to office premises to beat up the one that slapped him. Now she has sued the company saying she was dismissed unjustly and the company should pay her 500,000. Pls how do i handle this? Help its urgent. |
Re: Human Resource Professionals: by LondonCool(m): 10:50pm On Jun 08, 2015 |
blaqq: If the Tea girl does not have a contract of employment, the employer can terminate the contract of service being provided by the Tea girl for being a party to an assault on a member of staff (thats a sackable offence). The Tea girl was not an employee and can not therefore sue the employer for breach of employment contract. Call her bluff and tell her that you will see her at court to defend the 'unjust dismissal' allegation ( and think about a counter-claim as a deterrent) Even if the Tea girl was an employee she should have been summarily dismissed for gross misconduct (after an investigation ) for her role in beating up the staff member . The staff that initially slapped the Tea girl should have been given a 'first and final warning' for his unprofessional behaviour. (In most organisations that is a summary dismissal offence). However, the Tea girl can sue the Employer as a result of vicarious liability, that is, the law that holds an employer responsbible for the actions of the staff that slapped her and claim compensatory damages from the employer. In a workplace siutation, an employer can be liable for the actions of its employees, provided it can be shown that it took place in the course of their employment. There is culture of gross indiscipline and bullying in your organisation which needs to be addressed by yourself. You also need to put in place robust policies e.g Grievance, Disciplinary and Dignity at Work policies in order to create a conducive atmosphere of employee relations in the office. Lastly, go and read books on HR and build up your HR competencies to enable you to excercise the credibility to perform your role as the HR Head. 5 Likes 1 Share |

blaqq: No stress, don't forget that where there is a clash between organisational culture and HR strategy that 'culture always eats strategy up for breakfast'. In other words, fix the culture first instead of fixing the strategy. 1 Like |
