All this charge and bail lawyers looking for cheep publicity , what's his own with Buhari's name if Buhari likes let him change his name to Johanatan Mohammadu Buhari , dats left for him to decide cos we are not after his name but the what he has to offer to develope our beloved country Nigeria. If Buhari likes let him convert to a Christian it's his choice so long as he will do what is expected of him.

You see! This is the result of the problem we have in education sector and unemployment, in fact so many things leads to this. Even the way boys and girls, men and women patronise social media this day is worrisome.

Ebun is going insane! Obasanjo was called Chief Olusegun Obasanjo (OBJ, not General Obasanjo), Ikemba Odumegwu Ojukwu was so called (not General Ojukwu)...

This is needless attention-seeking madness. Ebun is becoming monotonous, boring, and is engaging in delusion of grandeur. This was not the way Gani Fawehinmi, blessed soul, won his stripes and reputation...

Re: Lawyer To Drag Buhari To Court For Dropping General Title From Name by wirinet(m): 8:45pm On May 19, 2015
I have always loved Ebun but this suit is as stupid as it is frivolous. You can not legally define what a person wants to call himself. If Ebun wants to be known as Barrister Ebun-Olu Adegoruwa or simply as Ebun, that is his cup of coffee. Gani Fawehinmi loved to be called simply Gani and not Barrister Gani Fawehinmi and there was nothing illegal about it. The fact that Buhari wants to be simply called Mohammadu Buhari does not remove the fact that he is a retired General from his CV. He remains a retired General to death. So Ebun should look for other ways to get noticed.

Ebun should be suing General Tompolo for answering the title of a general without being a soldier.

We have some seriously hungry and attention seeking lawyers. Many retired officers has dropped that title.Obj dropped his,Ojukwu dropped his and many others
i think the lawyer does nt understading the contex to which GMB was talking. What GMB was trying to say was that he is ready to rule nigeria as a democrat nt as a general its nt that the man is running away from his title or past. Its no issue

The way me and lalasticlala dey go front page.. na speed train o grin

Anyways GMB should expect distractions from all sides but as the leader we need, he must tune off all distractions and focus on good DEMOCRATIC governance because we have our PVCs and won't hesitate to use it 2019.

However the lawyer makes very very very valid points and just slam dunks buhari which is totally cool.. GMB cannot run away from general title because it's what he is and its his shadow with an evil past record. However he can redeem himself as a civilian president.

Good luck General Buhari

Goodluck will ever remain in the hearts of Nigerians. Gpf bless GEJ.

Dear President Muhammad buhari(elect),
My name is Edwin Obaje and today 19th of may, I’m a year older, I hope you wish me a happy birthday when and if this letter gets to you, it’s my heartfelt desire that you get to read it. Also, your acknowledgement of the receipt of this letter and promise to take immediate action when you get to office as it concerns the content of this letter will be a wonderful birthday gift to me which I’ll cherish for a life time.
As a child right activist, I’ve been personally monitoring events around the country as they affect the total well being of the Nigerian child but none has burdened my heart like that of the recurring sad stories of children being infected and dying from lead poisoning. First, in Zamfara state and now in Niger state. Just recently 28 children have died from lead poisoning from illegal gold mining in Rafi area of Niger state, action must be taken quickly if they are not to suffer irreversible neurological damage.
Doctors Without Borders (DWB), an international NGO has been treating children from a 2010 mass lead poisoning in Zamfara state that killed 400 kids and left many paralyzed, blind and with learning disabilities because of a three-year delay in government funding for a clean up. DWB have claimed they have cured 2,688 of 5,451 people infected and hope to complete treatment next year. They have had most success in the worst affected village of Bagega where all but 189 of 1426 people have had the lead leached from their bodies.
Mr President-elect, It will be of interest to you to know that all those newly infected in Niger State are under the age of 5 years which is the age range of children with the lowest immunity against foreign infection or invasion, 43 per cent of the 65 sickened children are dying. The new mining sites which were found to contain leaded ores are often brought home for crushing and processing and are associated with this devastating impact of this outbreak, the fact that villagers make up to ten times as much from gold than from farming is the major factor encouraging illegal mining in these states. It has been discovered that Zamfara state where the processing area was found contains over 100,000 parts per million of lead which is far above 400 parts per million which the UN considers safe
Sir, the root cause of this lead poisoning crisis has been identified as unsafe mining and ore processing. People who engage in mining and ore processing must be given access to facilities and programs to allow them safely mine and process ore without exposing themselves or others to toxic lead. I therefore, On this my birthday passionately appeal to your incoming government to provide full support to these organizations especially the Doctors without Borders that are risking their lives and investing their time and resources to help curtail this crisis as previous Governments efforts to forbid artisanal mining have failed.
I hope you’ll wish me a happy birthday, but your wish for me can only come through if you’ll sincerely regard this passionate request as a national emergency in defense of the rights of the Nigerian children as adopted by the United Nations 1989 convention of the rights of the child which Nigeria is signatory as you begin your historic journey of change.
Our leaders of tomorrow depend on you; posterity beckons on you, save the children and save our future. Congrats on your election and thank you for taking time to read this.

Happy Birthday bro! The only way you can voice out is via the media. That's why, I intend publishing Teenagers Newspaper but don't have support or partners. Keep Voicing Out!

So it's true that Lawyers in Nigeria are no longer relevant! Choi! Jst imagine this mr Learned colleague trying to own his own chamber by pursuing a case that is not worth it. If he's looking for cases, he should go out there and fight the repression of the surbordinate class in the society, he should fight for the ordinary man who has no lawyer and he's been opressed arbitrarily. until then, oga lawyer!!! Your bearing as a Learned colleague is still missing. JONZING MAN.

Pls dont blame this lawyer he is a jobless man. All politicians on both sides have conceeded defeat so no case for lawyers make money from. Abeg make them find something for this guy b4 something terrible happens to him. He is a jobless lawyer. That was how FFK started critisizing Gej until he got a mouth-watering job at the presidency that made him to change tune. If he wants to go to court let him. I used to respect this guy b4 i didnt know he is just an attention seeker. Throughout Gej time he did nt see anything to take to court even the fuel subsidy scam, he now wants to take smbody to court for dropping a title. What a shame to him as a lawyer?

So, if after being sworn in, someone knowingly or unknowingly addresses the president as "General Buhari ", what happens? Will it be an offence , libelous, derogatory, abuse, disrespect, or WHAT?
Does "General " connote badness? I don't understand !
Even when our past federal legislators love to be addressed as Senator A, Honorable B , someone that spent almost all his career life to attain a position wants to ' deny ' he ever attained such enviable height. WHY? WHY? WHY?
Let nobody tell me it's called Humility.

It is called public interest litigation. Thumbs up to Ebun.

In the eye of the law, it need not be significant before you can sue. He's only saying he can ask the court for a declaration that GMB cannot decree Nigerians to stop calling him a general when in fact he has been (and still) obtains benefit from such capacity that christened him General. It is a very common practice in other democracies.

GMB never "decreed" Nigerians from calling him a general, as it as no legal status. He only adviced that he prefered that the title be dropped. You can call him whatever you like, he might just not respond to you if you call him General.
