Macelliot: Maybe we're not on the same wavelength bro. Am talking about the one particular tribe/ethnic group that hypes itself and taunts every other group in Nigeria that it's superior to them in every way imaginable. The saviour of the African race, that develops everywhere else in Nigeria, the only "hardworking" tribe in Africa", the tribe of "no man's land", the Oga pata pata of chest-beating. Am I getting across now? ? 4 Likes |

Samchelsea: Well Sam, you may not think so but this is not a bullshit. I am just correcting the impression that we are above Nigeria's problems. The last time I checked, we Igbos are still part of a united Nigeria. And Nigeria's problems affect us as much as it affects the others. 9 Likes |

Boy listen up, the Nigerian economy is going through some challenge and every part of the country is affected, but the situation is not thesame in all part of the country. I am not happy that there is scarcity, the cost of transport have rised by 200% here in Lagos. The situation is not rosy in the east but it is not as bad when compared to the west and north. I pray this scarcity ends soonest. I am not in trouble. ugojamali: 2 Likes |

ugojamali:I know but you shouldn't have bothered creating this thread cos you've made it look like all Igbos are too proud and arrogant and this is really bad. Your impression is that since the Igbos claim that the fuel scarcity is not affecting them then they are bad people and any news that will show that there is actually fuel scarcity in the east will be a welcomed development. Am an Igbo, I live in Lagos and so am also feeling the pain myself, I have called my relatives in the east and they too are facing the same hardship, so your intention of creating this topic is bad. 7 Likes 1 Share |

When i tell most Nairalanders to disregard kids who come online and spew trash, most wouldn't listen. I bought #200/L today along Limca road in Onitsha this morning, most fuel stations are closed. Awka road, it's up to #300/L if you see, fares had all increased suddenly. Can't believe it's same Onitsha that sold #110-150/L last week. 5 Likes |

Samchelsea: Again Sam you get me wrong. I made reference to posts I read yesterday here. I'm sure you saw it too. Many of us gave silly reasons why scarcity was not affecting us. I say they're silly because they were not economically valid arguments. Now today scarcity has started affecting us. And it made me wonder... Where then are the illegal refineries and the big shot marketers? Where then are the brains that turn water to fuel? I'm not bashing my people cos I'm from anambra, I live and work in anambra. I'm just saying that as long as Igboland is part of a united Nigeria, then we suffer what Nigeria suffers. We are not above Nigeria. 11 Likes 1 Share |

ugojamali:well there is no need of dragging issues here, my point still remains that as human beings we are sometimes sentimental and am sure the same thing would have occurred if any other part of the country was having access to fuel like the East does, its a Nigerian problem and the sooner or later we all tell ourselves the truth about one Nigeria the better, look at how some section of the country are bashing Ifeanyi Uba for deciding to lift petroleum products, even labeling him a thief and yet some people they know very well are still hoarding theirs. Something is really wrong with the Nigerian setup 8 Likes |

The North isn't really feeling the scarcity, but if we continue like this it may begin to bite. There is no point bragging when the danger is imminent. It would be very easy for your leaders to exploit you while you keep bragging about imaginary prowess. 6 Likes |

Samchelsea:What would you say about the far north and middle belt? Apart from Abuja they probably have more access to fuel than the East but aren't bragging. Which is even relatively cheaper, sane humans don't brag with such situation. 4 Likes |

Idrismusty97:like I said its just a general assumption, if you ask a Benue man he'll tell they have fuel in their state just like someone from Bayelsa will tell you but if some from the eastern part says the same thing then it becomes a show off, my family lives in Enugu and believe you me, the fuel situation is affecting them, they haven't said anything but because a section of the populace comes out to say the are having fuel doesn't mean they speak for the general populace and its a "chest beating". Condemning show manship is good but labeling every Igbo man arrogant and proud is painful. Mind you most of those saying there is fuel in the east are not even residing there but are just corroborating what they heard. So in essence if you want to make a point always refrain from generalizing it and only condemn those involved. 7 Likes |

Samchelsea: I totally get that. It's an African thing. I'm sure, with the exception of Hausa's, others would probably brag too. Hausas are probably not bragging because they have bigger problems to worry about. 1 Like |
