PRESS RELEASE Abuja, Nigeria, 30 May 2015: President Muhammadu Buhari says officials of past administrations including ministers are entitled to their full rights and privileges under the constitution and must not be subjected to any undue harassment and intimidation at the airports or at other points of entry and exit. "We have not banned anyone from travelling," said the President. Responding to some cases of "V.I.P stoppages" at the airports as reported to him on Saturday, President Buhari directed all agencies under the government to run their affairs in full compliance with extant rules, regulations and the constitution of the country. "Unless otherwise directed by the courts, no law-abiding citizens should be barred from travelling abroad. We must treat fellow citizens with courtesy and respect. Officials at the borders and other points of entry and exit should conduct their affairs in strict compliance with due process. No one has my permission to bar anyone from travelling abroad," the president said. I don't know what I did to the mod that ban me. They deprive me the privilege to celebrate the inauguration of Buhari on Nairaland. Back to the topic. Anyone who wants to travel can do so. But be rest assure that if you are found wanting/guilty for corrupt practice, the law will take its stand, for nobody is above it. |

Commendable but you have no powers to stop anyone whatsoever. I am happy that you are aware of this. |

Western countries rarely house corrupt politicians this days, so will be happy to oblige to extradition request. Hence, no reason to stop them travelling |

donphilopus: My bro. I agree with you 100% on this. Its seems most people don't know who the man 'Garba Shehu' is. He was the special adviser to Atiku Abubakar, when he was in office. I don't know if you do read his column on Nigeria Tribune, every tuesday title ''Today with Garba Shehu'' The man is absolutely brilliant, that's why he was drifted to work with Buhari. Not one womaniser employed by the drunkard call ''FFK''. 2 Likes |

You rule by constitution not decrees in democracy. Buhari is right. He knows his limit. He is wise. If there is need to call anyone for questioning, they will be called. |

IdisuleOurOwn: Why we respect and believe in Buhari is that he mingles with the right people. If Garba Shehu were to be somebody like FFK and his name was drafted into the then 'General' Buhari's Campaign Team, he would have outrightly removed his name. We're blessed with PMB!!! 1 Like |

socialmediaman:Go get yourself abreast with the law. You can't infringe on the fundamental right of any Nigerian according to the NIGeRiAN constitution. This was why Sanusi was awarded 50m by a court last year. Except there is court warrant! |
