MikeCZAR: Wrong information ! According to South African navy, you have old school 76mm compact guns NOT any super rapid that your money cannot buy ! OTO Melara 3 in 76mm/62 compact ; 2 Oerlikon 20 mm GAM-BO1; 2 - 12,7 mm MGs http://navy.mil.za/equipment/patrol.htm One OTOBreda 76mm/62 compact . One Denel DPG 35mm (twin). http://www.defenceweb.co.za/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=6524 Nigerian navy has 76mm AK-176 ultra-modern guns with superior range to Valour frigates old guns, our OPV will sink your blue water navy ! . |

Patchesagain:was that why your president was inviting Nigeria to BRIC so as to cover up your hole and lapses. Nigeria doesn't go about selling off to get international validation like south Africa. |

MikeCZAR: Naval warships of modern times have sea+air search radar, a jet at low level will be detected. Nigeria has such radars. |

Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by Patchesagain: 2:03pm On May 31, 2015 |
agaugust: Citation please It seems you don't know about the "radar horizon" - low level flight reduces detection at sea and on land |

Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by agaugust: 2:12pm On May 31, 2015 |
Patchesagain: I meant to say 35mm Denel gun. 1. SAN/SANDF has no CRAM munitions today 2. Your 35mm gun has use of ordinary ammo NOT CRAM, it is a dual purpose gun and is able to use both ammo, but since you have no CRAM ammo, it uses ordinary shells. 3. Shilka will shoot down a bomb anytime because it is 360 degree rotation/elevation/depression . Shilka does not need CRAM to shoot down a bomb, a bomb is slow, it's NOT a missile ! Nigerian shilka is radar guided so the radar tracks and locks on the bombs and uses 4 barrel fire, not 1 barrel, 4 barrels of rapid fire, hundreds of high velocity shells will blow up the bombs. 4. Valour frigate 35mm gun is not 360 degree rotation/elevation/depression because it is behind the ship and if it depresses too low it will hit it's own ship, if it rotates fully to the back it will be attacking it's own ship and blow up the valour frigate ! Your own 35mm gun is limited in capacity and needs the bomb to be exactly at a position towards the back of the ship or side ways also towards the back. Your gun is technically defective in operational positioning. #Trap-Dismantled By Nigeria . |

Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by agaugust: 2:14pm On May 31, 2015 |
mzilakazi: American mercenaries will NOT enter South Africa with guns and start killing of your homeland without government permit....unless South Africa is a failed state like Somalia where the government has no control. Then according to your logic, SA government has no hand in the entrance and combat of American soldiers on your own homeland soil, that qualifies South Africa to be a failed state ! . |

Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by Patchesagain: 2:19pm On May 31, 2015 |
agaugust: 1. who says we dont have cram 2. who says we dont have CRAM 3. dual 35mm has 2 barrels and is radar guided - so it can also shoot down bombs 4. If you are attacking from above uhmkonto range means that the bombs will be falling from above so the 35mm will be shooting straight up! Hahahahaha You have said for so long shilka can shoot down bombs that it is has come back to haunt you! |

Patchesagain: At what speed? 3,600 miles at how many knots ? You proved NOTHING ! Ranges varies with speed. Show us the ranges of the Warrior and OPV at the same speed level, that is the only proof. Your data was NOT comparable, the ships were rated at different speeds. So you proved NOTHING . |

Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by agaugust: 2:42pm On May 31, 2015 |
Patchesagain: Bwaahahaha This guy does not know combat with heavy equipment. Shilka is mobile vehicle, it can drive around to attack threat from any position and the gun turret is 360 degrees rotation and fire on the move. 35 mm gun on valour frigate is fixed and carrot move around, then it cannot fire backwards if the bomb is dropped in front of the ship, the 35mm gun will need to fire on the Valour frigate structures itself if it turns fully backwards to face the front of the ship ! Your 35mm gun is stuck, fixed ONLY at the back of the ship. Next your 35mm gun CANNOT shoot straight up, the maximum elevation is only 85 degrees, it CANNOT shoot straight up, it must slant. I told you that you know NOTHING about sea warfare. See your Valour frigate 35mm gun photo below, when that gun turns fully backward to hit target, it will blow up the Valour frigate .

Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by Patchesagain: 2:54pm On May 31, 2015 |
agaugust: 85 degrees is just 5 short of 90 (straight up) You said that the planes will be flying above Uhmkonto range - so they will be above the ship and that 35mm can engage them |

agaugust:DUDE!! I told you to go on to the website and check it for yourself, the T-Craft specs were under the photo...you are now even using my source as part of your arguments, the funny thing is that you actually thought a small IPV had a range of over 3000nm, SO PLEASE tell me how am i the fraud? 2 Likes |
